To be completely straight forward this place is just for having sex. Employee was sleeping on the job. Room was dirty. Smelled nasty.

The 3 stars are for the quality of the room NOT THE SERVICE I RECEIVED. The workers were amazing…read moreand courteous from start to finish and I don't have a negative thing to say about them. When we arrived our room smelled awful, I mean STANK. I always bring a candle just so the space can smell like "home"but the candle was no match for the funk. I went downstairs and was immediately moved to another room, I really appreciated that. The rooms have been updating, to a point but you can tell the updates were surface level. In the bathrooms there was exposed piping and rust that was painted over because there was no fan for the steam. Random long black hairs were found in the tub and the bed also. Large parts of the ceiling paint were missing as well as improper sealing around the heater. The beds are sitting on some kind of hollow, and what sound like metal, platforms that when even slightly bumped up against make this LOUD ECHOING BANG that was so startling. So if traveling with young kids that you don't want to wake be sure to avoid any random bumps. They have breakfast from 6am-9am and it was solid. Eggs, sausage, waffles, muffins, tea, coffee, fruit and cereal. All the standards and the gentleman down there assisting was such a gem. Very helpful and accommodating without you even speaking. They also had an indoor pool and 24/7 gym but we didn't take advantage of those amenities. We only had a one day stay so while I can point out these things I can say my stay was a quiet one and the beds were comfortable. The water was hot and the heat worked as intended but it could be cleaner and/or updated fully. This location is 3mins from a target, 15mins from American dream mall and less than 10mins from the gas station. For $140/night you really can't beat that.

Since 2018 they have merged with Wyndham Rewards. I have booked some really good deals with Wyndam and accumulated enough points to get free stays. La Quinta in Rutherford is one of the finer hotels in the North that I have visited. Driving into the property you see Red Robins and then the hotel. Walking in I was a bit startled from the set up. It looked like an airport check in just before you take off your shoes. LOL! I made online reservations with ease and check in was a breeze. The concierge was professional, courteous, and very informative. They do have an additional $100 hold on your card. I booked a two bed for $129; with tax it came to about $248. Walking into the room left me speechless. The room was immaculate; the chairs were clean and sturdy and there was no carpet on the floor just laminated flooring which was a very good decision for sanitary reasons. The bathroom was handicap accessible. They have a gym, the largest continental breakfast room you'd ever seen, a pool that was OUT OF ORDER!! How??? They have other amenities as well. I had a very peaceful sleep with no disturbances. I have all intentions of returning.

While our stay included several challenges, I also want to recognize that hotel management ultimately acknowledged our concerns, provided compensation for the inconvenience, and worked with us after the fact to address the situation. We genuinely appreciate that response. Our primary concern was not that the hotel was hosting a FIFA World Cup team. Hotels frequently host special events, and that can be exciting. Rather, we were surprised that guests were not informed in advance that the event would significantly affect access to amenities and common areas. Having that information beforehand would have allowed us to make a more informed decision when booking. When we checked into our room, there were crumbs on the floor. The housekeeping manager came to inspect the room and acknowledged that it had not been properly vacuumed. The bathroom also features barn-style doors with large gaps between the door and the wall, which provide very little privacy. While this is a design choice rather than a service issue, it is something prospective guests may wish to know. During our stay, the on-site gym was closed because of the team's presence, and guests were directed to use an off-site fitness facility. While an alternative was provided, one of the reasons we selected this hotel was for its advertised on-site amenities. We had also planned to work from the lobby while my wife conducted business calls from our room. However, security operations related to the visiting team frequently limited access to the lobby. Police and security personnel were present throughout the area, guests were periodically asked to move, stairwells were restricted, and at times even the lobby restroom was inaccessible. These operational requirements are understandable, but they substantially changed the guest experience. Because of these cumulative issues, we ultimately decided to cancel the third night of our stay. To the hotel's credit, management listened to our concerns after the fact and provided compensation, which we sincerely appreciated. Their willingness to acknowledge the situation demonstrated good customer service once the issues were brought to their attention. My suggestion for future guests is simply to ask before booking whether there are any VIP groups, team buyouts, or major events scheduled that could affect access to amenities or common spaces. Greater transparency from the hotel before arrival would help guests set appropriate expectations and decide whether the experience is the right fit for their trip. One final observation: one of the event staff members (pictured) interacted with guests in a manner that felt abrupt and impersonal during the security operations. In high-profile situations, a courteous explanation and respectful communication can go a long way toward helping paying guests feel welcomed, even when temporary restrictions are necessary.

The accommodations were…read morespacious, comfortable, and very well-equipped, with an upscale feel making it feel like as if we were staying in a mansion. The chandeliers, marble floors, high ceilings, and beautiful aesthetics added to the luxurious atmosphere. The location was extremely convenient with easy access to all the major highways including Rt. 280, the Garden State Parkway, and the New Jersey Turnpike. There's also plenty nearby for shopping and dining. Just one block away is a strip mall with Burlington, Target, Starbucks, and Whole Foods. A little further up the road you'll find an AMC Theater, ShopRite, Petco, and even more stores and restaurants. David made a very positive impression on us during our stay. He was friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful whenever we needed assistance. I was already a little on edge after sitting on the tarmac at LaGuardia for 8 hours and then driving 12 hours to New Jersey, so his kindness and professionalism were greatly appreciated. Our room was spectacular! It was very large and equipped with a full kitchen that included a full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and large stove. The room also came stocked with plates, utensils, pots, and pans. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. There was a full-sized bathroom with an outside vanity area, two closets, a folded cot, a dining table with chairs, and a comfortable sofa for relaxing and watching television. The complimentary morning breakfast was outstanding with a great variety of hot cooked foods, breads, muffins, fresh fruit, cereals, and more. The parking lot was also plentiful, well-lit, and felt very safe. Overall, this was an excellent stay and we would absolutely return when visiting the area again. 5/5 Price 5/5 Comfort & Decor 5/5 Staff 5/5 Parking 5/5 Convenient location

We were here for a Friday - Monday stay and overall it was fine. The not so good. A river runs behind the hotel with a walkway alongside it. The fencing and walkway are not maintained, and unhoused people frequented the benches throughout our stay. (This may be a town issue and not a hotel issue, but it definitely hurts the feel of the hotel and the perceived safety when traveling with young kids). The parking is 22 dollars per night and they don't have adequate space for parking. Fire lanes we blocked by rows of cars, people were creating parking spots where non existed blocking the flow of traffic and in some cases blocking parked cars. Very chaotic parking situation especially when you're being charged extra for it. Breakfast during the week days is served at 6 am, for some reason on the weekend it's not until 7. We are here for a travel baseball tournament, if you have an 8 am game you need to be at the field at 7, that means your kid and family miss out on the free breakfast because it didn't start until 7. If they would add a multi level parking garage to accommodate guests and work with whoever they need to address to make the back of the property feel clean and safe along the river this would be a 5 star review.

I had lost my purse, which had my house keys and credit card in it, so all I had with me was my phone. I asked the hotel if I could pay with Apple Pay since I didn't have my card, and I just needed a safe place to stay until morning. The receptionist told me they only accept cash or card. I then asked if I could book through Booking.com and pay online, would they let me check in. The receptionist said yes. So I made a reservation and paid upfront through Booking.com. But when I showed him the confirmation, he suddenly told me I couldn't check in until 2 p.m. He hadn't said that earlier. Even though I had already paid, he then told me I had to wait *outside* the hotel. It was 5 a.m., I was alone, a woman in a vulnerable situation, and I had gone out of my way just to find a safe place. I was shocked. When I asked for a refund, the hotel refused. I had spent the last bit of money I had, thinking I'd at least have somewhere safe to stay. Being turned away like that--with proof of payment--was heartbreaking. The receptionist should have told me from the start that I wouldn't be allowed to check in until 2 p.m. Asking someone who's already in distress to wait outside in the early hours of the morning, despite having same day reservation, is completely unacceptable. And refusing to give me a refund made everything worse. This whole experience was deeply disappointing and honestly, shameful.
