Monica is the manager, the cook, the groundskeeper, the cleaning crew, the server, she is an awesome human. I don't know how she does it all. She's just as charming as the house. The house was tidy and clean...so clean. The Blue Fern puts any hotel chain to shame, they could learn a thing or two from Monica about hospitality and professionalism. Her breakfast was yummy and the coffee cake was tasty. They are in the process of trying to sell the Blue Fern and retire, but in the meantime, they gotta keep the lights on, stay here if you're going to Tahlequah. The breakfast was great- with nice choices every day. The 24 hour fresh coffee was outstanding, as my wife and I are coffee people. Coffee is our love language. The key cards never worked. They had to be reset multiple times. Air conditioning didn't work had to he moved to a different room. The lobby where breakfast is provided smelled like chlorine and was over heated. The plug ins in the night stands are loose which could cause a fire if someone used them. Which means we couldn't change our devices. Overall don't waste your money.

I am now going to file a claim against this hotel because this is unethical, unprofessional, and breaks so many USC CODES. I even called corporate and still no help.

We stayed in both log cabins and had the kitchen (which we did pay for so no special favors there), with our leader staying in a motel room nearby. We all had a wonderful time staying here and I think about that trip all the time. Yes we had some mayflies that came in when we let the doors open too long, or some small spiders, but it was generally a clean cabin despite being right in the woods. As someone who is terrified of bugs, and isn't someone who would claim to love or even like camping, I genuinely felt great staying here! Waking up to the gorgeous sunrises of Oklahoma on the deck was my favorite part of the day at Diamondhead. The group would attest as well that the lake we were at was so wonderful, and we all had a lovely time skipping rocks and looking at nature and the waves of the water. There are plenty of places to make campfires, gather wood, run around, explore, you name it. It was genuinely incredible to stay here and I am so thankful every day I got to come here. One day I'll come back! In short, if you are looking for a place to stay to explore the wilderness and have a traditional camping experience, I would come here. Everyone who has run this resort has been kind and absolutely wonderful. I

The rooms look pretty old and the furniture looked like they bought it at a old ladies garage sale. The drawer set was broken and I could barely open the drawer. Also the room was sold as a non smoking room, but when we would walk in after our tour bus dropped us off it smelled of smoke. The pool area is really in bad shape. The pool looked an odd color and the Jacuzzi had dirt in it. The gym is a small room with a low end stair climber and a few pieces of gym equipment with no AC. On the sign outside it says breakfast The breakfast was two choices of cereal and a toaster with cheap bread. Also the person attending the breakfast did not have coffee ready, as we all wanted a cup before we left on our bus trip. On the positive note the room was cleaned everyday and we had fresh linens. I don't expect a first class room at a Super 8 and the price was fair, but your corporation needs to look at upgrading this location!
