If you can find a shady spot to park under it is even more relaxing and you won't roast too bad. They also have the museum here and a marina for the people who have boats here. All and all a pretty peaceful spot to recharge your energy and just enjoy people watching and nature watching(ducks and birds).

We stayed in both log cabins and had the kitchen (which we did pay for so no special favors there), with our leader staying in a motel room nearby. We all had a wonderful time staying here and I think about that trip all the time. Yes we had some mayflies that came in when we let the doors open too long, or some small spiders, but it was generally a clean cabin despite being right in the woods. As someone who is terrified of bugs, and isn't someone who would claim to love or even like camping, I genuinely felt great staying here! Waking up to the gorgeous sunrises of Oklahoma on the deck was my favorite part of the day at Diamondhead. The group would attest as well that the lake we were at was so wonderful, and we all had a lovely time skipping rocks and looking at nature and the waves of the water. There are plenty of places to make campfires, gather wood, run around, explore, you name it. It was genuinely incredible to stay here and I am so thankful every day I got to come here. One day I'll come back! In short, if you are looking for a place to stay to explore the wilderness and have a traditional camping experience, I would come here. The only downside was the restaurant that is in the lodge and we were very disappointed with the quality of the food and the service that we received there. We will definitely visit the ranch again and maybe give the restaurant another try. Perhaps we just caught everyone on a bad day. 01-04-26-01-11-26…read more Our first trip to Bonaire with Nautical Adventures: My wife and I recently went on a scuba diving trip to the breath-taking island of Bonaire with Tim and Michelle Knight. The amount of hospitality and generosity shown by Nautical Adventures during our time on the island was some of the most professional, caring, and just downright stellar service we have ever received by a dive shop. We booked our dive trip with Nautical Adventures back in the summer of 2025. The information provided to us early in the booking process from Nautical Adventures gave us the opportunity to get our flights booked and get the trip secured to the island. Michelle and Jansen did an outstanding job staying in contact with my wife and I all the way up to the point at which we landed on the island. Once we landed on the island, we were greeted at the airport by both Tim and Michelle, we were picked up and taken to our resort, Grand Windsock. Michelle was right there with us to make sure everyone in the group was taken care of and made sure everyone's room assignments were taken care of as well as our rental truck. On the evening of our arrival, we were taken to the Wanna Dive shop and introduced to the staff at the dive shop. Additionally, we were shown around the shop and made to feel welcome and comfortable. On this specific occasion due to the later arrival time, Tim and Michelle provided pizza for the entire group and we had a wonderful time eating and visiting with the staff and rest of the diving group. On our first day of diving, we met the group at the Wanna Dive shop. We went as a group to Windsock beach and did a weight check and had a great first dive. My wife and I did not know the island, so Tim and Michelle took us under their wing for the first few days of diving and made us feel very comfortable navigating the island. On our second day of diving, we did a two-tank boat dive, and it was so organized and ran flawlessly. My wife and I felt safe and comfortable on the boat the whole time. This continued into our third day of diving. On my sixth dive, my dive computer failed and without any hesitation, Michelle allowed me to use one of her dive computers, which I used for the remainder of our diving experience on the Island. Our third day of diving ran just as seamlessly as the prior two days. We dove many different diving sites and had a great day. On our fourth day of diving, the rest of the Nauti Staff arrived on the island. Jansen, Ryan and Devin. My wife and I completed crossover training on this day, and the staff amplified Tim and Michelle's vision of professionalism. This dive staff is very good at what they do and each one of the instructors mentioned above goes above and beyond with everything they do. I feel this instructor quality can only be found with the Nauti Crew. My wife and I are so thankful for Tim and Michelle and the kindness they showed not only to us, but to the whole group. It is truly a blessing to be a part of the Nauti family and very nice to watch them share their passion for diving and their love for the Island. Brad and Ashley Kastl

In 1839, Tahlequah was designated as the capital of the Cherokee Nation. There are quite a few…read morehistorical things to do in Tahlequah like the Cherokee National History Museum, the Cherokee Heritage Center, the Cherokee National Prison Museum, and the Cherokee National Supreme Court Museum to name a few. In addition to this, there are parks and trails if interested and a casino. Tahlequah is also home to Northeastern State University (NSU) which is the oldest institution of higher education in the state. NSU is also one of the oldest colleges west of the Mississippi River. I/we have been going to Tahlequah for years, but we have family there. To me it's just a little town that seems to come alive when the college kids are around...aside from that, it's pretty quiet. The town is small, yet somewhat spread out. There is a historic downtown area and another commercial area with grocery stores, etc. When it comes to restaurants...there is a variety, but not many overall. They seem to roll up the sidewalks early in Tahlequah, so plan accordingly when doing anything. There are a few hotels in Tahlequah as well if you wish to spend the night while visiting the area and/or passing through. If you plan on visiting, be sure to check the events calendar for the town and plan accordingly. For a small town, hotels are booked up quickly when there is an event and the town can get busy at times. Some of the oddball things I like to mention are the Tahlequah Drug Company which offers an old-time soda fountain, and Mr. Ed is buried here (on private property, but you can see his headstone just fine from the road). Everywhere you go the people are friendly and it's not an expensive town. Plus, parking is free in the downtown historic area.
