I had received a call from a local number with a gentleman from India on the other line. For…read morereference, I have been to India for a time and I know the dialect and how words are enunciated. I have several workers that I communicate with on a daily basis that are Indian and they also agreed the man was from India. The people in the background were speaking Hindi, loudly so yes, no doubt where the call originated from. The person on the phone told me he was from Florida. I'm in Phoenix so it's a 602 number that I saw, matching my own. While I had him on my cell, I used my office phone to call the number on my caller ID, when I did the recording said, "The number you have dialed has been disconnected" I couldn't get anywhere with the Indian gentleman so I just told him I needed some dental work so he transferred me to a "specialist" who actually sounded like she could have been from Florida. I explained to her the issue I had with the fake phone number and she went on to explain that the number was an outgoing number only. I did a little research online and no, that is not possible to have an "outgoing number" which gives you the "disconnected" recording, they were doing caller ID spoofing. My major suggestions to the company are the following: 1. Please start and finish with American operators, it's much easier communication wise and if the person goes off script, there isn't a 10 second pause while they scramble to find an answer. 2. If you are going to outsource your calls, please make sure they don't lie when a customer asks them to identify the location they are calling from 3. When your sales rep picks up, please don't have them talk so fast and sound so pushy. I do understand the nature of the company, to try and get people on Dental coverage plans, but the method in which they try to solicit your business is just outright wrong.
