I've lived in LaCrosse,Wi. since 1997. I've probably bought shoes from Rogans 25 times since removing here. 6 or 8 months ago I went in and bought a pair of New Balance 990's for $200. I have always chosen to get both the full price and the half price shoes. That day I only got the full price pair due to the price and the associate that day told me I didn't need to keep the receipt because I would be in the system. My name is Steven Wilklow. I have worked in the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and have had at least a dozen phone numbers in the last 10 years. Thursday evening I went in and was told my name and phone numbers were not in the system. I was also told Rogans had updated to a new computer system about a month ago. I went in today ( Friday Oct.1) and asked to speak to a manager. While I was waiting I heard 4 or 5 customers told they must keep the paper receipt. The Manager on duty gave me the same story as the associate did the evening before. I am a bigger guy and sometimes speak loudly, but having worked in corrections I know better than to act physically in an inappropriate manner. I had the box that said Rogans and the price clearly marked on the box. I argued with the Manager and he told me at least 7 or 8 times I needed a proof of receipt. As I slowly backed out of the store and he continued to tell me I needed a receipt. When we got between the 2 doors he finally physically assaulted me. He didn't shove me. He didn't push me. He gave me 2 stiff hands directly into my upper rib cage about 3 inches below my left and right nipples. I was a bit stunned. The fact that the nature of the force he used and the way he did it was totally out of line. I called the police. They explained my options. That manager crossed a line. I have a degree in business and extensive customer service training. What he did to me would be considered assault in most business situations. He should be fired or severely reprimanded. I told the officers that I would try to get this situation rectified by contacting Rogans corporate complaints department. read more

Very little inventory in women's size 9. Mentioned it to the manager - he said "Yes, it's a popular size. We often run out." I said they may want to order more - his response "It's not up to us, it's up to corporate". We size-nine women KNOW it's a popular size. I wonder if Dylan is going to mention it to corporate? I am always pleased with Rogan's. I wear a size 15, and always find a selection. I understand the math when I don't get a full 50% of the second pair, and am grateful for the discount. The staff are very helpful, and I appreciate them checking in with me about my progress. I am just happy that someone consistently has a selection of size 15 shoes. read more

I bought a pair of sandals for $84.40. I like them and I came back to buy a second pair at half off as the sales clerk had originally told me. The second pair was $73.50.! The mathematical gymnastics were intriguing to observe. I got no satisfaction. read more

Good selection, quality brands. Prices are good if you can take advantage of the buy one, get one half off deal (need to find 2 pairs roughly same price for this to pay off). However, every time I go, I feel harassed. For example, today I was in the store about half hour. I was asked AT LEAST 6 times if I was "still doing ok?" Yes, I was doing ok every time. There were 5 workers standing around by the front when I walked in, and I could find them back if needed. It's like this every time. It's a huge turn off. Seems like they are super paranoid about theft and just want to constantly harass shoppers to remind them they're watching. Think I will start shopping online for deals instead. read more

I was in the need for new shoes for my children. I always have them sized at Stride rite but La Crosse has no stride rite. We walked into Rogans and were greeted by three employees at the end of isles. I was impressed and thought this could be good. Not so much the shelves were a complete disaster. There was very little selection aside from sneakers. There was no way to tell where shoes were. I had my 5 year old and 18 month old with me so after trying to find a shoe I liked I gave in and asked for help. Surprise the clerk couldn't find the one I wanted either. After 5 minutes of looking finally found it and it was the only one. While I had the guy I asked him to size my daughter since it had been a while. He could not size her and couldn't help me size her either. After 10 minutes of trying I gave up and left. It was a shame because they had a nice selection of sneakers. Guess I'll make the trip to Rochester or the Dells for the stride rite. read more

If I could rate this store without even rating it one star, I would. We entered the store with three people at the register, there was no greeting what so ever. The shelves were a disaster. After an hour of searching and at least 4 different employes walking past without saying a word we left. The employees kept talking about a party they had went to the night before. Need less to say we will never return to this store. read more
