Had appointment then got lined bifocal glasses made. The distance vision is not correct, feels to strong. I cannot wear them. The store remade once with same result. Then I was told it's the frame and then it's due to cataract. Her exact words were 'the glasses are correct to the prescription'. The prescription is obviously wrong then!! So, now I have glasses I can't wear and my insurance won't allow for another exam for 12 months. And I'm out $165. read more

Great experience from beginning to end! The optometrist staff was very helpful. They have a large selection of glasses and the staff helped me quickly find two very cool new frames. I had an emergency. I was in extreme NE Iowa for a mini vacation and needed new glasses. I'm not allowed to drive without them and nobody in the area could provide glasses on the same day. Wallyworld in Decorah, IA sent me to LaCrosse. Eyemart Express cut two pairs of bifocals for me on the same day. The employee who assisted me (Karen) was so friendly! The prices were reasonable for two pairs and I felt like the store valued my business. They also texted me when the glasses were done. If it wasn't for Eyemart, the camping trip would have been shot. I've recently been here twice for broken frames. They were covered by warranty and we had excellent and professional service both times. Karen and Angel made sure we were taken care of as quickly as possible even though it was a busy place. The General Manager at this location is probably the worst manager I've had to experience while shopping for anything. She was rude, short tempered, and just mean. I bought my pervious glasses from Eyemart, and when they broke earlier this week, I thought to bring them into the store, since I have the warranty. When I bought my glasses, I paid for a warranty so that if my glasses were to break, they would be replaced at no additional cost. When I asked the GM if my glasses could be repaired/replaced, she rudely turned my question down, as only had the frame and one lens, rather than the frame and both lenses, which would have been impossible to bring in as the glass from the broken lens had shattered. She sent us away from the counter and told us that we would need to replaces the glasses and lenses complete at full price. AS WE WERE SHOPPING she came up to us and said that we shouldn't bother shopping around if I don't have an updated prescription. She didn't offer to check for me to see if I had one, so I asked her to do that for me and she groaned. I brought the pair of glasses that I was interested in with me to the counter only to find that my prescription had expired. I didn't understand how this was possible, as I have recently had my eyes checked at my hospital, but she didn't feel the need to explain to me that my hospital should fax my eye prescription to the store so that eyemart can make the lenses. The lady then proceeded to ignore the new pair of glasses that I was looking at (usually they put them on hold for you) and motioned us out of the store. I definitely will not be taking my business back to Eyemart Express, and if that store wants to stay open, I highly suggest taking care of the rude general manager that works there. Having worn glasses the majority of my life, I've been to all of the shops in the La Crosse area and have never found a better deal than at Eyemart Express in Valley View Mall. Not only are their frames reasonably priced, they have great customer service. I was excited to get a pair of sunglasses, but because I wear a high prescription, my polycarbonate lenses came in thicker and heavier than I expected (I thought they would be the same weight/thickness as my regular glasses but apparently not!) - I had chosen a large frame as that is the style in sunglasses I like, but it wasn't explained to me that the larger the frame, the larger (and WAY thicker) the lenses...so they let me restyle to a smaller frame and upgrade to a better, lighter-weight lens (HD's) at no extra charge. - I just had to pay the difference between the original polycarbonate lenses and the HD's. When those new glasses came in (HD's have to be specially ordered) they were visibly pinching my nose and were horribly uncomfortable, so the employees again suggested I restyle and pick a completely different frame. This time I spoke to someone who explained how sizing works with lenses, width, etc. Third time was a charm and again, a restyle at no charge. I was soon out the door as once they have the lenses in and they say "about an hour", it truly is about an hour so that is really nice! The manager Randy is very nice and always professional, as is Mara (who unfortunately is no longer with the company) and though I had to talk to quite a few other employees (some who know more than others) they did their best to help me throughout this entire crazy long process. The employees are all very friendly, and very approachable. When you have an odd prescription, shopping for glasses can be a negative, tedious, frustrating experience, but the employees made me feel welcome and like they genuinely wanted to help. - It took a few tries, but we got there eventually thanks to their patience and kindness! I recommend Eyemart Express to everyone I know! ************************************* As an update to this original post, STAY AWAY from the HD lenses, the "better lens" mentioned above. They are a complete rip-off. Perhaps my experience is different since I have a high prescription, but I get much better vision from my polycarbonate lenses.- I do not get the precise correction with the HD's for distance vision. Also, with the HD's unless you are looking exactly straight (and again, the distance isn't as good), everything else is also super blurry. Looking out the side of your eye = blurry. Looking down = blurry. Looking up = blurry. HORRIBLE. I now have a really expensive pair of sunglasses that I can't wear because I can't see out of them and therefore can't drive in them. I've tried to use them just for everyday outdoor use when I'm not driving, but it is too annoying to not be able to see anything. I've moved out of the area so I can't take them back. Though I love the customer service in this store, I wish they were better informed (and therefore could explain in better detail) how the lenses will differ. I wanted thinner, lighter-weight lenses, and that's what I got with the HD's due to Eyemart's recommendation (they were so confident that they exclaimed I would love them and NEVER wear anything else again) but I can't stand them! (Perhaps they aren't meant for people with a higher prescription?) I also never really received a very good explanation as to why polycarbonate lenses for sunglasses are so much thicker than polycarbonate lenses in my regular glasses, just that if I wanted a thinner lens I had to go with the HD's. I have never had such great service as I experienced with Eyemart Express in Lacrosse. Two assistants helped me pick out and order glasses that looked good on me and though they did point out extra options, they did NOT try to over sell or push services down my throat! They texted me when my glasses were done even though I had them mail them to me. The prices are more than reasonable...really. My glasses (bifocals) were perfect right out of the box and I have not had one bit of trouble with them. Thank you Eyemart for a most enjoyable experience. read more
