In August of 2025 I was experiencing severe pain when urinating. I was traveling at the time so went here. I have a high deductible insurance plan so wanted to determine in advance what they would charge. I asked the receptionist what the fee to see a doctor would be and they were unable to provide even a general answer, telling me it depends on the negotiated rate with insurance. Sure, that seems to be common, but I thought they should still have some sort of idea on the approximate price of a visit. They did tell me it would be higher as a new patient and provided the phone number for their billing department. So I called their billing department, and got essentially the same answer: we don't know. Really? I was surprised they couldn't give me any ballpark idea whatsoever, and pressed further for some kind of number. I was finally told it could be somewhere around $350 for a first visit. That seemed high, but I was in pain so checked in. The doctor who saw me was very professional and nice, and service was good, HOWEVER, when the bills started to arrive, I was stunned. They billed over $480 for the visit, and my plan covered $110 so I was on the hook for $370 - which I paid. Now, here's where the real shock came in. There was lab work run on my urine, to look for an infection. This was apparently handled by HealthTraxRX. The price for their services added more than $630 to the bill! There were over 17 fees. Five of those fees were for specific tests, and had individually distinct medical billing numbers. But the bulk of the bill was for 12 instances of the same medical code number and all billed at $35. My insurance provider rejected all of them. Medical practices that can't give a good faith estimate of their costs and fees before service should probably be avoided if you can go somewhere else.

Originally when I got my procedure done here I let all the troubling things go, but now those things are glaring since I've seen other professionals as a follow up to my care. The difference was like night and day! I had an endoscopy at this center, and will say up front that the procedure went OK. That's the only reason this place gets 3 stars from me and not 2. It was mostly all the ridiculous lack of attention and professionalism that was most troubling, in addition to the fact that they missed things in the imaging that could have prevented me so much grief and discomfort. Greeting at the front desk was done by a woman that was ... well, there isn't a way to say this gently ... a combination of overly glammed-up and completely without concern for how the back of her head looked. In all my years on this planet, I've never been in a medical clinic and dealt with a woman who looked like she literally had a nest of something growing on the back of her head. I was stunned as she walked away to get something from the printer. Putting aside that she does her hair without looking at the back of it, it absolutely looked unsanitary! To top it off she fawned over my appearance and jewelry like we were sisters getting ready for a date ... ?!? I know staff members always have their individual ways of making patient feel welcome, but this was NOT that. It was simply unacceptable and unprofessional. Thankfully the woman who came to escort me back to the prep room WAS kind and welcoming. Unfortunately she was the ONLY ones who was. The doctor was OK, but not very informative. He seemed like he was ready to get out of there. That was also true of the nurse who came into the prep room to do my intake. She spent her time talking in low tones to the computer, asking me questions. I do NOT have hearing problems but finally had to stop her and tell her to turn to talk to me so I could hear here. She adjusted but seemed annoyed. She put mu IV in a very awkward place and it was uncomfortable. Her attitude was basically, "too bad"! And when she wheeled me into the procedure room, it was like bumper cars!!! And when I was finished, they were supposed to call my ride and confirm I could go, but that didn't happen. Thankfully he was monitoring and near by anyways. I sat in the outer waiting room as attendant after attendant took other patients out the door to an awaiting car. No one asked if I needed help. No one walked me out when my driver arrived. Geez ... I felt the whole time like I was treated like someone's hated EX-mother in law! I thought i was calm and happy to come in for the procedure, but when I left I was anything but that. All of these odd behaviors are not good, but what makes them now very glaring to me is that I've had followup with different medical professionals, and I'm finally on track with the issues that were the original cause for concern and the procedure. The point is that if that doctor and the team had given me all the pertinent information, I would not have spent the last several months suffering! It's disgusting to feel like a lab rat in a surgery center. Everyone has off-days, but this was way beyond that. This was a VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, UNACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE!!!

I have straight…read moreMedicare but it still took four months to complete a referral from my primary, and that's only because I called them. First call = 24 minutes on hold before answering. First appointment one month out. I received calls and texts for four days warning me that if I was late or missed the appointment I would be charged an additional $150.00. I was told to go online and complete the per-appointment registration, which was 80% financial and 20% medical information. Day of appointment I arrived 45 minutes early, front desk folks were very polite and quick. The surgeon was right on time. He saw me for three minutes, 20-second exam fully clothed, and gave me a tentative diagnosis, but wanted a CT to be sure. He told me the CT had to be "approved", but I have straight Medicare, no secondary. No per-authorization needed. A week out, still waiting for the doc to order the CT (and crreatinine) . I called today (16 minutes on hold) and the doc will only be in one day, next week, and he will then be gone for two weeks.. I'm going to cal my primary doc and see if he will order the blood test and the CT. This thing hurts and I need to get back to work. Could the fact that I only have straight Medicare and no secondary coverage, meaning I will have to pay 20% out of pocket, and I'm on a fixed income because I can't work until I get the surgery, and probably won't be able to pay the full 20%, be a reason for the delay? Is that the "per-authorization" (aka; "wallet biopsy") he was talking about? Maybe, after having nearly $40.00 deducted from my paycheck every two weeks for the Medicare Tax, for my entire career, I should go to Canada to get timely health care?

The wait in the office to be seen was only about 10 minutes. Danielle had a big smile on her face and a very positive attitude when she got me set up in the nerve study room. Dr. Saviers came in promptly after. He very kindly addressed me and asked me about my complaints. This man is a master at what he does. He took to his work with his tools and measure whilst thoroughly taking his time educating me on everything and further hearing my story. His bedside manner was second to none as we spoke about photography and the beautiful pictures of nature in his office. He showed me how the machine worked, guided, and educated me on my nerves. I can't see this appointment going any better. The whole staff was very thorough and took their time with me. They had a great light hearted jovial attitude that comforted me. The establishment was very clean and modern incorporating nature into its atmosphere. The jolts were harmless and even more so as I relaxed. The needle was not bad at all. It was a very small needle that was very quickly and gently inserted. Again this man is a master and he knows how to get the quick little millisecond of a prick that you feel over. He did not examine me at all and flat out told me there's nothing he could do for a severe sinus infection and that no one else in the valley would help me until I hit six week sick. He was annoyed with me for tearing up, shot down my questions, and when I told him I felt like I couldn't breathe with all my symptoms he said "You're fine. You're talking, so you're breathing" He wrote a couple prescriptions after I pressed him to change my antibiotics since the originals I was prescribed weren't working and told me my best bet was to swim in the ocean for a few days...I walked away wondering if I could trust anything he said with no exam and such a despising demeanor, I double checked if I could even take the prescriptions he wrote scripts for while pregnant with a pharmacist. It's easy and quick to get in. Maybe he's the reason why.
