She is clear and direct with me, she is very thorough, and she has answered all of my questions in such a manner that I am able to learn from her, which I really appreciate. She taught me how to recognize potential melanoma or other irregularities on my skin versus something that is likely normal. This is really good because in between check ups I don't have stress. It's also good because if something did occur I know to call the office and get an appointment earlier. I've always found the folks that work with Krista are really wonderful as well as the administrative staff. All in all, I have found this to be a very professional, warm, and caring practice.

She got right into the exam which was so fast, I don't even know how she can find anything if there was an issue, which brings me to my biggest complaint. She looked at something on my brow line and said you have a hemangioma, then went onto look elsewhere. I interrupted her and said, "Um, no, that's not a hemangioma, that's a curling iron burn!" How can you not see a scab over a hemangioma? I asked her to look at some bumps between my breasts, and she looked so fast and said milia, how can you know that by a quick one second look, not exaggerating! Her exam was worthless and I would suggest working on her social skills. Will not go back and will not recommend.

Dr. Young and Christa Cavanaugh, PA-C , are fine practitioners that consistently deliver sound medical advice and treatment. This is instead an issue of inconvenience and inconsideration. Upon making an appointment with this group (most generally with the PA, Christa Cavanaugh) - What follows is a barrage of messages that begin sometimes 6 to 8 weeks prior to the appointment to remind you that your appointment is coming. And they usually involve having you click on something to confirm that you acknowledge that you have the appointment. They always request that you come 15 minutes early even if you've been coming regularly every six months or the last time you were seen was only a few weeks prior. If there's ever any paperwork that can be filled out online I always do that just to avoid having to do anything else there. Consequently when I check in, there is nothing for me to do but sit down and wait. I realize that they don't want patients failing their appointments or arriving late, and that they value their practitioners time. (They make a point of stating in their countless reminder texts, that failure to make the appointment may result in a fee of $25.00.) Consequently, when we come to the office, my husband and I are always at least 15 to 20 minutes early. Unfortunately...it has NEVER failed that we have had to wait usually a minimum of 20 to 30 minutes to be seen. There is never an apology. There is never any kind of communication or an explanation as to why she was late or at least an acknowledgment that I had been waiting. Consequently, I usually try to make my appointments early so that I'm the first patient, and even in those cases I've had Christa stroll in to the exam room almost 20 minutes late and I was her first patient! It's just annoying to me that while an office and their practitioners consider their time valuable, they consistently demonstrate a total disregard for mine.

I was seeing Dr Chase Christensen with southern Oregon foot and ankle and he wanted me to see Dr Josh Millard with Medford Foot and ankle for an urgent partial amputation but because of the below issue from May 2023 they are refusing to see me. We are looking at an amputation and you won't see me, I am sorry all the way around this is absolutely horrific horrific care. By not seeing me and putting this off longer and longer imperial amputation is most likely going to become full amputation. Very very unprofessional and even more disheartening. In May of 2023, I checked in a half hour before my appointment and now I'm 15 minutes past my appointment time. But you have a sign that says if your five minutes or more late for your appointment it will be cancelled and rescheduled. This is absolute not okay. No communication either. And patients that have come in 10 or 15 minutes after me have been called So apparently they tell you to check in 30 minutes before your appointment but they don't say that when they tell you that you need to check in a half hour early. I checked in at 2:08pn with my paperwork out and then they come out to tell me my appointment is running at least 15 minutes behind. Not ok at all.

Originally when I got my procedure done here I let all the troubling things go, but now those things are glaring since I've seen other professionals as a follow up to my care. The difference was like night and day! I had an endoscopy at this center, and will say up front that the procedure went OK. That's the only reason this place gets 3 stars from me and not 2. It was mostly all the ridiculous lack of attention and professionalism that was most troubling, in addition to the fact that they missed things in the imaging that could have prevented me so much grief and discomfort. Greeting at the front desk was done by a woman that was ... well, there isn't a way to say this gently ... a combination of overly glammed-up and completely without concern for how the back of her head looked. In all my years on this planet, I've never been in a medical clinic and dealt with a woman who looked like she literally had a nest of something growing on the back of her head. I was stunned as she walked away to get something from the printer. Putting aside that she does her hair without looking at the back of it, it absolutely looked unsanitary! To top it off she fawned over my appearance and jewelry like we were sisters getting ready for a date ... ?!? I know staff members always have their individual ways of making patient feel welcome, but this was NOT that. It was simply unacceptable and unprofessional. Thankfully the woman who came to escort me back to the prep room WAS kind and welcoming. Unfortunately she was the ONLY ones who was. The doctor was OK, but not very informative. He seemed like he was ready to get out of there. That was also true of the nurse who came into the prep room to do my intake. She spent her time talking in low tones to the computer, asking me questions. I do NOT have hearing problems but finally had to stop her and tell her to turn to talk to me so I could hear here. She adjusted but seemed annoyed. She put mu IV in a very awkward place and it was uncomfortable. Her attitude was basically, "too bad"! And when she wheeled me into the procedure room, it was like bumper cars!!! And when I was finished, they were supposed to call my ride and confirm I could go, but that didn't happen. Thankfully he was monitoring and near by anyways. I sat in the outer waiting room as attendant after attendant took other patients out the door to an awaiting car. No one asked if I needed help. No one walked me out when my driver arrived. Geez ... I felt the whole time like I was treated like someone's hated EX-mother in law! I thought i was calm and happy to come in for the procedure, but when I left I was anything but that. All of these odd behaviors are not good, but what makes them now very glaring to me is that I've had followup with different medical professionals, and I'm finally on track with the issues that were the original cause for concern and the procedure. The point is that if that doctor and the team had given me all the pertinent information, I would not have spent the last several months suffering! It's disgusting to feel like a lab rat in a surgery center. Everyone has off-days, but this was way beyond that. This was a VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, UNACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE!!!

That is when their problems and discomfort really began. After interacting with the staff and physicians at this organization I am much more confident that there is good health care to be found in Southern Oregon. I and my friend have learned more about cancer, its' treatment and what to expect from said treatment from the nurses here than from any other person or resource available. They treat their patients with a kindness, compassion and consideration that I have never, ever seen before. Truly amazing people treating even more amazing people. The doctors are thorough and professional. They take time to make sure all their patient's questions are answered (you just have to know what to ask!) Brought to the Asante Health System by OHSU in 1999, it is a regional resource for basic and clinical cancer research into new methods of diagnosis and treatment. It is also the state's only cancer center designated by National Cancer Institute of the NHI. Humble: The feeling one experiences upon entering Hematology Oncology Associates PC in Medford, OR.
