My experience at Tourneau x Bucherer has been one of the better ones I've had since living in Orange County. I always enjoy stopping by to shop at this boutique time and time again for convenience and the beauty of its location, and always felt genuinely welcome by Christina every time! I can't speak for everyone, but I think building a relationship requires a bit of effort + patience, and a little goes a long way! I made a visit with no clue what to expect as it was my first trip to a Rolex AD. I was instantly welcomed in by Ming, who was incredibly helpful and friendly. Refreshments were offered promptly. They had a decent amount of "exhibition only" sport models. He was kind enough to let me try on several pieces I was interested in. He was very patient and happy to spend the time with me going back and forth between a few models to really narrow things down. After spending all the time I needed with sports models, he recommended that I try on a few models that I didn't even inquire about. He had me sit at one of their seating areas and brought and few out for me to try on, mentioning they might be easier to allocate. This ended up being a great sales idea, as I never thought I would have liked any of the non-sports models, however one I actually really enjoyed and would be open to as a second purchase down the road for more formal wear. When I asked him about purchasing one of the two models I settled on, he was gracious with explaining that they are hard to allocate. There was absolutely no mention of spend history or condescending remarks about not being able to obtain one. He just politely explained that the wait could be long, and that there are no guarantees "the call" would ever come. I appreciated his up front honesty. Maybe it's my ignorant optimism, but I left feeling like a potential client, and at worst I at least was given the customer service, respect, and time any buyer should receive when willing to spend the money these watches command. I ended my visit with him filling out an interest card, which had my information and the watches I would like to allocate. It was a pleasant experience even if I left empty handed. read more

SERVICE: the story goes my then fiancée came in 1 year prior to put in a deposit for a watch as a wedding gift for yours truly. Fast forward 1 year later, my now wife, who is also now pregnant, gets a call from our AD, Chrisitina Wong. Truly amazing experience with Christina. She is a great conversation and so attentive. Her communication from day 1 was nothing but stellar. I would highly recommend Christina to sweeten your buying experience. She's got lifelong customers from our family. Searching for a new Rolex is a daunting task, but I wanted to give a special shoutout to Phillip for assisting me on my first luxury watch. I have been on the hunt for a new Submariner for years now, but I have always been disregarded by many associates. Many have put my name on waitlists, but Phillip was the only one that took the extra step. After months of waiting with Phillip, I finally got a call from him and hurried to pick up my new piece. My hubby and i have been looking for a Rolex to treat ourselves as a 25 yr anniversary gift. We decided to visit the new Rolex store that just opened/relocated there. First, the wait was almost an hour, fine we can wait, but once we were in, the salesperson Ming was super short with us just wanted to take my info down and send us on our way, he asked what would you like to see and after told, he responded they had nothing available... so why ask then! I described what i was interested in and kept pushing that he take my info and let me know after, I insisted that i wanted to try a size to know what i can be on a wait list for and he finally agree to sit us to try a couple of pieces. He was a bit rude and condescending, and just kept saying, i don't know when i will get a piece and i can let you if and when we get one. Here the thing, sales associates should not forget they are also employees and if someone is looking to buy an item from you, specially such an expensive purchase, the least you can do is show some decent customer service skills and keep your judgement to yourself and not let it show. Earlier this year I took my Rolex GMT-Master into the Rolex Boutique at South Coast Plaza for Service and Repair. Since it is a vintage watch, I was assigned to Armen Anselian as my representative for Service and Repair. Fortunately for me, Armen is extremely personable, knowledgeable, and very professional. He thoroughly explained the process that we would be following in detail. There was no lack of communication. The only question we had was whether or not the watch would have to be shipped to Switzerland or if the work could be accomplished domestically. At the end of April I received a call from Bucherer that my Rolex was ready to be picked up. I walked in and my watch ready and it was dazzling. Very shiny, very bright. I'm joyfully commending Ali Abdulnabi of the Rolex Boutique in South Coast Plaza in the highest terms for marvelous service beyond the exceptional! Ali is so gracious and knowledgeable and communicated so professionally over time and distance, buoying my hopes of owning a dream watch. Ali was straight up about the challenge of seeking a specific Rolex model while also keeping my own desires in mind. Ali offered beautiful Rolex alternatives which, although sorely tempting, I was able to resist while patiently awaiting the opportunity to buy my specific desired watch. Living several thousand miles away from Orange County, I could only drop in every couple of months, often unannounced and mostly not particularly well-dressed. Yet every time I popped in Ali greeted me (and my wife when she was with me) warmly and I enjoyed chatting about all manner of subjects, not just watches (although Ali is very much an extremely knowledgeable watch affiscianado). I should also remark that I am of no special status or recognition, but instead a rather ordinary guy. I have been in many Rolex authorized dealers and understand that it can be daunting when the demand is so great for Rolex watches and the available models to obtain can be so hard to find. But Ali and the Rolex Boutique in South Coast Plaza never made me feel "unworthy" or "less than." I should also point out that even when Ali was not present or available when I visited the store, every other sales associate present were also very gracious and welcoming and offered to help in Ali's absence or unavailability. I appreciate their grace when some customers can be unpleasant when faced with the disappointment that something that they want may not be easily acquired. This past week, upon walking into the Rolex Boutique unannounced I again warmly greeted by Ali. He welcomed my wife and I and we chatted about our families, our travels, and other personal topics. He excused himself, returning with the exact Rolex watch of which I had my heart set on, correct down to the most minute detail. I'm quite sure that my enthusiasm was visibly apparent (and that my wife can validate). I think the correct term would be "swooning." I was over the moon when Ali informed us that the watch was indeed available! In short, it is beyond beautiful and I am struggling just to keep me eyes off of it. Of course I had to have it, and agreed on the spot to purchase it when offered. Throughout the entire process until I walked out of the store wearing it I doubted that this was really happening. Yet I got the feeling that Ali was sharing in our joy. Adding this newest Rolex to my nearly 20 year old two line no date Rolex Submariner gifted by my wife on the occasion of our 25th wedding anniversary (I am a retired US Navy submariner) results in two beautiful meaningful watches intended to be passed on to our two sons when I can no longer wear them. Each watch shall be accompanied by deeply personal stories to which I proud to add Ali's stewardship in obtaining this watch to the meaning to which I attach to these items. After going to many different Rolex shops I expected the same service that I usually get; condescending, short one answers from sales people. I was looking for the submariner which I knew they didn'thave, but at least the sales person was nice enough to show me how it fit since I've never tried one on before. He gave me some interesting facts about the watch which I never knew and took down my contact and even gave me one of their cool catalogs. I received a missed call and vm. Message was Steve. with the outstanding news. "My watch was in and to come down". I made it in the very next day. Unfortunately Steve was not in, but Frank was. He greeted me and sat me down. Assisted me with total professionalism. Went through all the dials, settings and warranty. True customer service from beginning to end. Unfortunately not a pleasant experience here. However I think it heavily depends on who you get to be your sales agent. I've come here 2-3 times over the years and I've noticed how some customers were greeted and treated extremely well while others barely taken notice. If you like collecting watches (like me) and just want to chat about the new collection, watches in general and learn more and get a watch that you really like and enjoy, don't bother coming in. They probably already have tens of thousands of requests ready to go so they don't need to put the effort in to make new customers happy, even less those who don't just want an entry level Rolex. This is a sad development for Rolex especially as competition is stiffening and locals like me will start going elsewhere for the service and effort one would expect from a brand like Rolex. I have to say the other watch stores in South Coast plaza have a very different vibe and attitude and I have almost nothing but positive things to say from my many interactions with them. Don't get me wrong, Rolex watches are superb but unfortunately not the store experience (maybe just by some sales representative which I will not name). I just wish we had a better Rolex store and experience for locals of Orange County so we wouldn't need to go elsewhere. read more

I have my own design firm for 10+ years, and I have been visiting Tourneau in the US / Bucherer in Switzerland for almost 20 years. Picked up gifts for employees / clients & family occasionally. Last year I wanted to get something nicer for my parents' retirements. I decided to go with DateJusts so I put in my wishlist with Thien. After quite a long wait, she was able to finally locate one with the exact spec we wanted! Yay! Over the years, Thien has always taken the time to answer my inquiries, showing me different models & going through catalogs when needed. I have to admit that I am more on the picky side when it comes to collections & specs, but Thien has always been patient & friendly. As a watch collector since 1998, I can say Thien is truly a watch collector's best advisor when it comes to Rolex. Very professional and friendly as always. We walk into the store to inquire about a watch. Specifically a "gmt rootbeer" we are not greeted by anyone. The store was empty. Everyone acted like we weren't even there. So we help ourselves and see the watches through the display case. Shortly after a group guys walk in and are instantly greeted and a sales person even took the watches out of the display case to show them. Still at this point not have been greeted or asked if I needed help with anything. Went ahead and left and bought the watch at a grey market dealer. Didn't care to pay premium somewhere where I was treated right unlike this place. read more
