It had been quite disheartening to walk into this boutique; every time we would walk in, everything is "For Exibition Only". There's been a couple of times where my "info" was taken, but never received an email from the associate that assisted us. My wife and I had been talking to this particular associate, but always nothing until our visit last month, where we actually got an email from him regarding a watch we were interested in. This week, we came in on Tuesday, looking for this associate. Christina met us and told us this associate was off, but she assisted us on a couple of timepieces. After showing us the timepieces, Christina mentioned that this particular associate will be back on Thursday, and we should ask for him. Very nice of Christina to not take another associate's client. Yesterday, Saturday, we walked in late in the afternoon. The male associate that had assisted us the past few times didn't even acknowledge us; while another lady who was busy putting back some timepieces asked us if we wanted to look at some timepieces. Li-Ying was very patient with us. We told her we were interested in other models, and she gladly took down our information. We saw that a few of the cases were empty, and we were kind of surprised by exibition pieces not being available in the showcase. As we were about to finish the consultation, she mentioned that there was a 31mm Date-Just 2 tone that was available. We looked at it, contemplated, and told her we'll think about it. We had left the premises when my wife decided she wanted to have the timepiece. In the midst of taking down our info, I must have missed Li-Ying mentioning that all the timepieces in the showcase island in the middle of the sales floor was available for purchase. When we went back in to the boutique to purchase the timepiece, Philip greeted us and ask if we needed assistance. The previous associate that had assisted us in our prior visits was still there standing around. We explained to Philip that Li-Ying had assisted us, and we were interested in buying the 31mm Date-Just 2-tone. Philip had us seated in a booth, and got us some water while Li-Ying finished up with another client. Philip had a very personable demeanor; it was a pleasure chatting with him regarding watches and other items. Li-Ying came back and assisted us with the purchase of my wife's timepiece. As we were waiting around for Li-Ying to get the watch sized, I walked around the boutique and joke around with Philip and asked him if I could buy the 41mm Date Just with the Wimbledon Dial on the wall since there was no sign that says "For Exibition Only." Philip then tells me that there are timepieces available for sale in the center island showcase. Sheez! I forgot Li-Ying mentioned that. There was a 40mm white gold Day-Date. I had to have that. To make a long story short, we ended up getting both the 31mm Date-Just and the 40mm Day-Date. Just want to give a big shout-out to Li-Ying for taking the time assist us in the purchase of our new timepieces, and also want to compliment Philip as well for keeping us company and just visiting with us while our timepieces were adjusted. I came to the store to get my first ever Rolex watch. I wanted a Datejust but not sure which dial color would fit me. Agnieszka was the one who helped me that day and oh my let me tell you she is the best SA ever!! She helped me with the dial color and gave me the best Olive green color with the diamond. She was super nice and friendly. I asked a ton of questions and she took the time to explain everything to me. After trying on several different watches, she helped my wife and I pick out the watches we liked. At the time, they only had display models but we signed up to join the waitlist. Beautiful store with lots of display pieces and no ready inventory - much like other Rolex boutiques. Walked in with my son on Sunday afternoon. I was greeted by a woman whose attention to my needs and empathy for not being able to help was in sharp contrast to her very attractive physical appearance. She didn't care that they had nothing to offer me. She made no effort to see if we can cater to a future arrangement. It was simply " sorry we don't have anything. " Of course I am nobody of importance but i do continue to amass a respectable Rolex collection. Disappointed in the lack of service, care and follow up from the sales reps in this store. I came in searching for a certain watch but the store didn't have it - the rep who attended to me (Kathy Pham) didn't give me her card nor options on how to work with her to follow up . I asked about pre-owned options and she suggested their sister store upstairs. Unfortunately, they too didn't have what I wanted so when I came back later to inquire about another option, she was in a meeting and her colleague gave me her card and said to register my interest and send them the configuration of the watch I wanted so they could contact me when available. I'm a third generation multiple Rolex owner, my father and grandfathers were also jewelers - so I understand the game of supply and demand. Hermes does the same thing. But when I emailed the rep Kathy at least twice with my inquiry and configuration, she never replied. No one replied. But above all, no one cared to get to know me and why I was even searching for a new Rolex. I wouldn't do business with this store in future based on this poor experience. And I really wanted to since I'm a local and love SCP...how unfortunate. They must not need the business. I'll get better service on eBay. read more

My experience at Tourneau x Bucherer has been one of the better ones I've had since living in Orange County. I always enjoy stopping by to shop at this boutique time and time again for convenience and the beauty of its location, and always felt genuinely welcome by Christina every time! I can't speak for everyone, but I think building a relationship requires a bit of effort + patience, and a little goes a long way! The female employee reluctantly showed me some models...like my showing up has cut into her chit chat time with her coworkers. 1 star if she showed me one model but since she showed me 2, ok - 2 stars. I don't know her name - she never introduced herself. I didn't ask for her name and she told me to go home and look at the website some more. Yes, the website is a helpful resource but isn't that also the function of a sales associate? Given the luke warm customer service , i left and went to Omega. At omega, they pulled up a chair and got me some water and my child some color pencils. I bought a watch there in 30mins, had a Japanese whiskey served while they wrapped it and then I went home - no fuss. I understand that Rolex has no immediate stock on site and I wouldn't be able to be a paying client that day...but sure, i will do the waitlist had i received some decent sale consultation. It is nice that Rolex is doing so well that they can take business/not as their SA feels like it. But it is also nice that the American consumers have a ton of options so I went elsewhere. read more

Went in there to check in about a Rolex (OP) late last year. Waiting for a few moments, when someone finally notices me, a woman named Kathy asks, "can I help you?" in a stand offish tone and facial expression. She blatantly looked me up and down and even had a chuckle with the security guard (can only assume about what, just bad timing) She said they are in high demand and not many come in. I had to ask if they have any on display, I had to ask if I could try it on. After she mentioned I'd have to get on a waiting list, I had to ask to get on said waiting list. She didn't give me her card to follow up about my interest, She clearly didn't want to help me. I wasn't under or over dressed for the occasion, just another Persian in Orange County that day. Fast forward, went to another Rolex dealer and they were so pleasant and friendly and I got the watch I was after. So if you go in there and your rep is Kathy, ask for someone else or go to a different dealer. Also want to add, that the Geary's on Rodeo Drive is friendlier and gave me a call quite quickly. read more

I wanted to write a review after having such a positive experience at this location. My husband and I had the pleasure of working with both Ming and William. I found them both to be incredibly kind and knowledgeable. I learned so much through that experience and they were both so patient in letting me try on different models. I recommend to anyone just window shopping to go in and speak to a SA, and to learn more about the brand, and see how beautiful the models are in person. I would have never considered a chocolate dial on fair skin until I tried one on in person and fell in love. Haha. I can't wait to experience their new location at SCP opening up later this year, it sounds like it will truly be epic. As an aside, I was super hesitant to go in because we have two active children, but I found the staff to be incredibly accommodating to them and us. I made a visit with no clue what to expect as it was my first trip to a Rolex AD. I was instantly welcomed in by Ming, who was incredibly helpful and friendly. Refreshments were offered promptly. They had a decent amount of "exhibition only" sport models. He was kind enough to let me try on several pieces I was interested in. He was very patient and happy to spend the time with me going back and forth between a few models to really narrow things down. After spending all the time I needed with sports models, he recommended that I try on a few models that I didn't even inquire about. He had me sit at one of their seating areas and brought and few out for me to try on, mentioning they might be easier to allocate. This ended up being a great sales idea, as I never thought I would have liked any of the non-sports models, however one I actually really enjoyed and would be open to as a second purchase down the road for more formal wear. When I asked him about purchasing one of the two models I settled on, he was gracious with explaining that they are hard to allocate. There was absolutely no mention of spend history or condescending remarks about not being able to obtain one. He just politely explained that the wait could be long, and that there are no guarantees "the call" would ever come. I appreciated his up front honesty. Maybe it's my ignorant optimism, but I left feeling like a potential client, and at worst I at least was given the customer service, respect, and time any buyer should receive when willing to spend the money these watches command. I ended my visit with him filling out an interest card, which had my information and the watches I would like to allocate. It was a pleasant experience even if I left empty handed. read more

Came in here about 2 years ago as I moved to the area and wanted to meet the local Rolex AD. Got a lukewarm response and the customary "fill out your wish list" response which is fine. Checked back in a few times, no updates. I've been back on and off the past few months, at the best lukewarm or below level of enthusiasm from sales agents. Not sure what the deal is here but it doesn't seem they are interested in growing a relationship with local watch enthusiasts. Too bad that Rolex has this kind of presence when there are so many other great watch stores in the plaza that surprisingly treat you extremely well. Earlier this year I took my Rolex GMT-Master into the Rolex Boutique at South Coast Plaza for Service and Repair. Since it is a vintage watch, I was assigned to Armen Anselian as my representative for Service and Repair. Fortunately for me, Armen is extremely personable, knowledgeable, and very professional. He thoroughly explained the process that we would be following in detail. There was no lack of communication. The only question we had was whether or not the watch would have to be shipped to Switzerland or if the work could be accomplished domestically. At the end of April I received a call from Bucherer that my Rolex was ready to be picked up. I walked in and my watch ready and it was dazzling. Very shiny, very bright. The light reflecting off the bracelet links was brilliant. All in all it was a excellent experience, as you would expect from Rolex. Thank you, Armen. read more

My hubby and i have been looking for a Rolex to treat ourselves as a 25 yr anniversary gift. We decided to visit the new Rolex store that just opened/relocated there. First, the wait was almost an hour, fine we can wait, but once we were in, the salesperson Ming was super short with us just wanted to take my info down and send us on our way, he asked what would you like to see and after told, he responded they had nothing available... so why ask then! I described what i was interested in and kept pushing that he take my info and let me know after, I insisted that i wanted to try a size to know what i can be on a wait list for and he finally agree to sit us to try a couple of pieces. He was a bit rude and condescending, and just kept saying, i don't know when i will get a piece and i can let you if and when we get one. Here the thing, sales associates should not forget they are also employees and if someone is looking to buy an item from you, specially such an expensive purchase, the least you can do is show some decent customer service skills and keep your judgement to yourself and not let it show. I'm joyfully commending Ali Abdulnabi of the Rolex Boutique in South Coast Plaza in the highest terms for marvelous service beyond the exceptional! Ali is so gracious and knowledgeable and communicated so professionally over time and distance, buoying my hopes of owning a dream watch. Ali was straight up about the challenge of seeking a specific Rolex model while also keeping my own desires in mind. Ali offered beautiful Rolex alternatives which, although sorely tempting, I was able to resist while patiently awaiting the opportunity to buy my specific desired watch. Living several thousand miles away from Orange County, I could only drop in every couple of months, often unannounced and mostly not particularly well-dressed. Yet every time I popped in Ali greeted me (and my wife when she was with me) warmly and I enjoyed chatting about all manner of subjects, not just watches (although Ali is very much an extremely knowledgeable watch affiscianado). I should also remark that I am of no special status or recognition, but instead a rather ordinary guy. I have been in many Rolex authorized dealers and understand that it can be daunting when the demand is so great for Rolex watches and the available models to obtain can be so hard to find. But Ali and the Rolex Boutique in South Coast Plaza never made me feel "unworthy" or "less than." I should also point out that even when Ali was not present or available when I visited the store, every other sales associate present were also very gracious and welcoming and offered to help in Ali's absence or unavailability. I appreciate their grace when some customers can be unpleasant when faced with the disappointment that something that they want may not be easily acquired. This past week, upon walking into the Rolex Boutique unannounced I again warmly greeted by Ali. He welcomed my wife and I and we chatted about our families, our travels, and other personal topics. He excused himself, returning with the exact Rolex watch of which I had my heart set on, correct down to the most minute detail. I'm quite sure that my enthusiasm was visibly apparent (and that my wife can validate). I think the correct term would be "swooning." I was over the moon when Ali informed us that the watch was indeed available! In short, it is beyond beautiful and I am struggling just to keep me eyes off of it. Of course I had to have it, and agreed on the spot to purchase it when offered. Throughout the entire process until I walked out of the store wearing it I doubted that this was really happening. Yet I got the feeling that Ali was sharing in our joy. Adding this newest Rolex to my nearly 20 year old two line no date Rolex Submariner gifted by my wife on the occasion of our 25th wedding anniversary (I am a retired US Navy submariner) results in two beautiful meaningful watches intended to be passed on to our two sons when I can no longer wear them. Each watch shall be accompanied by deeply personal stories to which I proud to add Ali's stewardship in obtaining this watch to the meaning to which I attach to these items. In short, I cannot recommend Ali Abdulnabi more highly and am remiss in not submitting this review prior to obtaining this Rolex watch, as Ali stood by me through this entire process which is now and forever part of the joy of the watch itself. After going to many different Rolex shops I expected the same service that I usually get; condescending, short one answers from sales people. I was looking for the submariner which I knew they didn'thave, but at least the sales person was nice enough to show me how it fit since I've never tried one on before. He gave me some interesting facts about the watch which I never knew and took down my contact and even gave me one of their cool catalogs.
