I don't believe anyone was intentionally trying to mislead me, and I want to give credit where it's deserved when a business listens to a customer and makes a genuine effort to make things right. I've purchased two Rolex watches from Bob's Watches and also sold them a Rolex in the past, so I expected a little more reasonable treatment as a repeat customer. I purchased my current Rolex from Bob's about eight months ago. The watch is in the same condition with no issues whatsoever. When I contacted them about trading it toward a Submariner, their initial offer was roughly $3,500 less than what they sold me the watch for just eight months earlier. Even after increasing their offer, I received better trade offers from companies I've never done business with before. Unfortunately, this also reminded me of my previous experience selling them a Rolex. They gave me an offer, I shipped them the watch, and after receiving it they reduced the offer by $500 because they claimed it needed buffing. I had never worn that watch, so I'm still not sure what exactly needed to be buffed. Reading other reviews, it appears I'm not the only person who has experienced an adjustment after Bob's receives a watch. I understand they're a business and need to make money on both sides of a transaction. But there's a reasonable spread, and then there's offering a repeat customer thousands less for a watch they sold him only eight months earlier. Their trade-in practices remind me more of a used car dealer than what I would expect from a high-end luxury watch dealer. After three transactions with Bob's, I'll be buying and selling my watches elsewhere going forward. read more

Honest, pleasant, transaction. Important to understand that when you sell a watch to them, their initial photo-based offer is dependant on inspection. They provide insurd fedex label. Their buy standards are a little tougher than a local jeweler -- as people who buy from online jewelers tend to want grade A used, otherwise they'd buy local or on ebay. They ultimately bought one the three I sent and fedexed the other back. I sold the other two locally for less money. Just wrapped up the sale of a watch with Rob at Bob's Watches and it was a wonderfully smooth and easy process. Used the online tool to get a value estimate of their buy price, submitted an a proper sales inquiry that they reviewed and got back to me. Estimated price, pending inspection, was exactly what the online estimate was. They sent a prepaid and insured shipping label (great peace of mind knowing they had insurance covered) and I sent the watch in. Next day they had it inspected and got me the final offer which was exactly the same as the estimate. Couple business days later I had the funds in my account. Love the ease, love the consistency in their price estimates, no last minute lowering after inspection or anything like that (this, of course, requires an accurate starting description and photos for them to work with!). This is a good news bad news type of review. I have wanted a Breitling Aero EVO in black for a decade. I finally found one at Bobs and called them. They assured me it had been checked out and the battery replaced. They sent to me right away. However they hadn't checked it out. When I got it there were error codes immediately popping up. I had to bring it to a local watch company to find out they also never replaced the battery and it had started leaking. I wrote them twice about the money I had to spend to fix their mistakes and they are ghosting me. I may buy from them again, but I'd go in person. Do not trust them online. read more

I have two experiences with Bob's. I've bought and sold watches with Bob's and the experience is top notch. Bob's is well known in the secondary watch market as one of the most reliable places to get luxury watches and the experience only confirms this. Selling: Selling my watch was super easy, I sent an inquiry on their website to obtain a price quote for selling my watch. I received a price quote along with a shipping label to send the watch in for their inspection. Since I live locally in Orange County, I made an appointment to stop by to have my watch inspected and ultimately, receive a check. I do want to note that my original quote was slightly reduced from the original offer since the watch needed a service. All in all, I'd say in less than an hour, they inspected the watch and handed me a check right there, which leads me to my next experience. Buying: Bob's website is great since it is continually updated and easily searchable for the watch you may be looking for. I found the watch I wanted, purchased it online and it was shipped overnight. I could have gone into the store to get it, but I have all the tools necessary to make adjustments to my watch band etc., so shipping worked out fine and of course a signature was needed for delivery. The watch was in the exact condition as noted on the website. I received mine in a Bob's watch box (since the watch I purchased did not have the original box/papers) and the necessary paperwork from the purchase. Buying second hand can be scary, given the worry of fakes, but Bob's authenticity guarantee along with their reputation in the watch industry allows for a very comfortable experience. I purchased from Bob's Watches for the first time. I worked with Alayna to order my "grail" watch (Batman) on Monday at 12:45 PM, and it was delivered at 11:38 AM the next day. The watch is as described on their website with full documentation (tags and all). It was a great purchasing experience, much better than going to an AD and them telling me they can put me on a waitlist and give me a Rolex magazine, or going to another AD, owned by Rolex, making money by overcharging you for their "Certified Pre-Owned" watches. I can only recommend Bob's Watches if you don't want to wait for a Rolex to be "assigned" and don't want to buy stuff you don't want just to get consideration from AD. read more

Bobs is horrible. I had heard good things about bobs through a few friends. So I decided to look their direction first when looking to sell my watch. I was extremely transparent when describing the condition of the watch, received an offer from them that I seemed to be "fair" I get that they need to make money, I didn't have an issue with that. However, minutes after I called to schedule an appointment I received an updated quote that was $200 less than the initial quoted price. I wasn't going to let $200 spoil the day so I made the trek from LA down to OC just to get completely low balled in person. Upon arrival they knocked down an additional $900. $2600 for a watch that goes for $5000-$6000 on chrono 24. I feel that because I shared I was commuting that they figured that had me. I promptly walked away from the deal and ended up at Happy Jewelers in Fullerton. Within 30 minutes I had a check that beat Bobs first and best offer. This is a screw ball used car salesman esq ran company. Their behavior is predatory and takes advantage of anyone that doesn't know the true value of their watch. read more

Title: Quoted $6,500, paid $5,600 -- and told my wire was sent when it wasn't I sold two watches to Bob's Watches (a Grand Seiko and a Cartier) and was quoted $6,500 for both. After in-person inspection, the offers were reduced -- the Grand Seiko from $3,500 to $2,700 and the Cartier from $3,000 to $2,900. The Grand Seiko was still under manufacturer warranty, and in my opinion the sharp reduction on it wasn't justified. The payment experience was the real problem. On Friday I was told in writing that my wire had been processed, with funds arriving by Monday at the latest. The wire confirmation their own staff later sent me shows the wire wasn't actually created and authorized until Monday afternoon. In the meantime, my sales rep was unresponsive to multiple emails and calls, and their rep apologized in writing for the delay. Funds arrived end of day Monday. They may be a fine option for buying, but based on my experience I wouldn't recommend them for selling. read more

I purchased a Rolex from Bob's Watches in June 2025 that was listed and verbally described as being in "Excellent Condition." Nine months later, when I attempted to resell the watch through a reputable luxury dealer in my current city, I was informed that the bracelet and clasp had been significantly over-polished -- to the point that the metal edges were rounded. In the secondary market, excessive polishing materially impacts value. Because of this condition issue, the dealer reduced their offer by $3,000 to account for the corrective work required to restore it to true "excellent" standards. I contacted Bob's Watches to discuss the discrepancy and was told that someone from their sales team or even their CFO would follow up with me the same day. Unfortunately, no one reached out as promised, which was disappointing given the seriousness of the concern. As a buyer, I relied on the "Excellent Condition" grading when paying a premium price. In hindsight, I strongly recommend that anyone purchasing a pre-owned luxury watch have it independently inspected immediately upon receipt -- particularly for signs of over-polishing. Condition representation directly affects market value, and buyers should protect themselves accordingly. read more
