Just wrapped up the sale of a watch with Rob at Bob's Watches and it was a wonderfully smooth and easy process. Used the online tool to get a value estimate of their buy price, submitted an a proper sales inquiry that they reviewed and got back to me. Estimated price, pending inspection, was exactly what the online estimate was. They sent a prepaid and insured shipping label (great peace of mind knowing they had insurance covered) and I sent the watch in. Next day they had it inspected and got me the final offer which was exactly the same as the estimate. Couple business days later I had the funds in my account. Love the ease, love the consistency in their price estimates, no last minute lowering after inspection or anything like that (this, of course, requires an accurate starting description and photos for them to work with!). Rob was a pleasure to work with and pricing was very fair. Will definitely do business with again. read more

Not the best experience this time. I did purchase a previous watch. I was slightly annoyed on that transaction, I purchased the timepiece on line on a Saturday night. They reached out to me on Sunday asking why I hadn't sent in the wire. Duh, it was Sunday and banks are closed. I let it pass, just seemed a little pushy. On my latest experience I made an appointment to see a watch I've been looking for. Great watch, decent price so told them I wanted it. They have a 2.9% charge for a CC so I used my debit card. It was denied as a possible fraud so I called the bank and could not get a live body to fix the issue. While going through this I put my cell on speaker and my 6 figure checking account balance was read out as we all listened. I offered a check and to return after it cleared. Nope, we dont take checks. But we will take cash, like I had over 10k in walking around money. I then offered to pay by CC if they waived the extra 2.9%, a reduction in price of around $300. Not an unusually large ask to close the deal. Nope, we wont do that either. I left empty handed and they still have a watch to sell for a difference of $300. Wow margins are tight. But that night I found the exact same timepiece on 1916, a popular site for buyers and sellers. 2k less than at Bob's. Exact same , full set the works. So I guess I shouldn't complain, they saved me over 2k by not taking my CC, my thanks to them for their rigid criteria. And then to top it off they do not have a restroom to use, but I could drive down the street to a fast food resturant and return. Didn't seem customer friendly to this old baby boomer. And its annoying they will not bring out more timepiece's to explore other options. At any rate that's my tale, take it for whatever you think its worth. BTW, for the right watch and price I'd return, I just wouldn't hydrate before entering the store. And if I want to try on multiple timepieces I'd go to Happy Jewlers in Fullerton, and they will let you use their bathroom! read more

I purchased from Bob's Watches for the first time. I worked with Alayna to order my "grail" watch (Batman) on Monday at 12:45 PM, and it was delivered at 11:38 AM the next day. The watch is as described on their website with full documentation (tags and all). It was a great purchasing experience, much better than going to an AD and them telling me they can put me on a waitlist and give me a Rolex magazine, or going to another AD, owned by Rolex, making money by overcharging you for their "Certified Pre-Owned" watches. I can only recommend Bob's Watches if you don't want to wait for a Rolex to be "assigned" and don't want to buy stuff you don't want just to get consideration from AD. read more

Bait and Switch: I sold two watches to Bob's Watches (a Grand Seiko and a Cartier) and was initially quoted $6,500 for both. After bringing the watches in, they reduced their offer significantly -- citing the need to send the Grand Seiko to Japan for service due to a +/-15 second accuracy variance, and claiming the strap needed replacement. The kicker is that Grand Seiko is still under warranty and Grand Seiko has service centers here in the US. The drop in value from $3,600 to $2,700 for a watch under manufacturer warranty was completely unwarranted. They also reduced the Cartier offer from $3,000 to $2,900 over a bracelet polish. To make matters worse, I was told the wire transfer would be sent on a Friday and I had to wait till end of day Monday to receive the wire only after contacting the management. My sales rep was unresponsive to my multiple emails and calls. They might be a good option for purchasing, but definitely not my recommendation for selling a watch. read more

I had been working with Ludo regarding the purchase of a Cartier Santos Galbée and had multiple email exchanges indicating my intent to move forward with payment. We were supposed to connect today to finalize the purchase, and I called and left a voicemail when I was unable to reach him. Unfortunately, while I was actively attempting to complete payment, the watch was sold to another buyer without communication or follow-up. Given the level of interest and the ongoing discussions, I found this disappointing and not reflective of the level of customer service I expected during a significant luxury purchase. Additionally, during our interactions, Ludo repeatedly referenced having "hundreds of customers," which conveyed the impression that me as an individual customer did not particularly matter. While I understand these watches can sell quickly and sales teams manage many clients, a more attentive and communicative approach would have gone a long way. Clearer communication or even a brief courtesy hold pending our scheduled conversation would have been appreciated. read more

I purchased a Rolex from Bob's Watches in June 2025 that was listed and verbally described as being in "Excellent Condition." Nine months later, when I attempted to resell the watch through a reputable luxury dealer in my current city, I was informed that the bracelet and clasp had been significantly over-polished -- to the point that the metal edges were rounded. In the secondary market, excessive polishing materially impacts value. Because of this condition issue, the dealer reduced their offer by $3,000 to account for the corrective work required to restore it to true "excellent" standards. I contacted Bob's Watches to discuss the discrepancy and was told that someone from their sales team or even their CFO would follow up with me the same day. Unfortunately, no one reached out as promised, which was disappointing given the seriousness of the concern. As a buyer, I relied on the "Excellent Condition" grading when paying a premium price. In hindsight, I strongly recommend that anyone purchasing a pre-owned luxury watch have it independently inspected immediately upon receipt -- particularly for signs of over-polishing. Bob's is well known in the secondary watch market as one of the most reliable places to get luxury watches and the experience only confirms this. Selling: Selling my watch was super easy, I sent an inquiry on their website to obtain a price quote for selling my watch. I received a price quote along with a shipping label to send the watch in for their inspection. Since I live locally in Orange County, I made an appointment to stop by to have my watch inspected and ultimately, receive a check. I do want to note that my original quote was slightly reduced from the original offer since the watch needed a service. All in all, I'd say in less than an hour, they inspected the watch and handed me a check right there, which leads me to my next experience. Buying: Bob's website is great since it is continually updated and easily searchable for the watch you may be looking for. I found the watch I wanted, purchased it online and it was shipped overnight. I could have gone into the store to get it, but I have all the tools necessary to make adjustments to my watch band etc., so shipping worked out fine and of course a signature was needed for delivery. The watch was in the exact condition as noted on the website. I received mine in a Bob's watch box (since the watch I purchased did not have the original box/papers) and the necessary paperwork from the purchase. Buying second hand can be scary, given the worry of fakes, but Bob's authenticity guarantee along with their reputation in the watch industry allows for a very comfortable experience. She follows up without hassling you and keeps you fully informed of when the watch has been received and your check sent out. There were no delays in any of the processes. They quoted me a price from a photo I emailed to them then gave me a quote subject to receiving the watch from Fedex which they paid and insured. In addition when he called after receiving and inspecting the watch he told me that the offer was going to be $500 short of the estimate for needed servicing. I told him to cancel the deal and send the watch back at which point he asked to put me on hold to check with someone, came back quickly and said this was a mistake and that it would only be a $100 reduction for polishing.
