He enjoyed the kids library section. They have some neat in the wall seating for kids to read. They also have a large wooden ' café' for kids to play at. They had a good amount of books for children. The library was very busy on a Saturday later afternoon. I walked throughout the rest of the library to check it out and they have a good selection of books in the teens and adult areas. They also had a cooking room and also other meeting room rooms. It appeared to be a possible cooking lesson going on at the time we were there. They have a variety of comfortable and modern seating arrangements throughout the whole entire library. They also had a huge window area looking out on natural Prairie area that I believe might have hiking trails around it. We do not have library cards with this system so we didn't check anything out, but we did read books to our grandson while we were there. Everyone seemed to be getting good service from the librarians at the area as they were stationed. The library is a valuable resource for all the community members because of all the free resources that one can use. This library was new and modern. I do think the bathrooms could've been cleaned a little bit better or maybe more often.

This is such an easy library to be a fan of. The location is incredibly ideal, just off I-29 and…read moreright on the Platte City exit with lots of other shops and restaurants and banks. Inside, there's a decent quantity of books available, but what's nice is they always have the New York Times bestselling books present and on display. There's also a very large selection of dvds and CDs and other multimedia content. This library offers 6 public computers with full Internet access and a few others with library catalog capability. There are plenty of chairs, desks, and couches available for leisurely reading or quiet work which I highly recommend taking advantage of. Furthermore, there is a large room on the north end which is used for special activities, including children's readings and art projects! One more thing I really like here is that they are open till 9 pm on Monday and Thursday evenings... Very accommodating for later schedules. A downside is it's not open later more often... But what can you expect in a small-town library? The staff here are super, super friendly and a huge help with anything the customer needs. The facilities are new and nice. Come and enjoy this library as much as I do!

They do have a small selection of fiction books though. I was originally concerned when I was looking for study books that my previous local library had, but this 'research' library didn't. I've filled out requests to get some books through their Inter Library Loan program, and I didn't have high expectations since I've tried it before at other libraries and my requests just sat in limbo. Yet, it seems they have a Inter Library Loan Technician and it seems that is all he does and I received an e-mail a week library that books were ready for pickup, that were shipped from a different state. Was thoroughly impressed. Not only that - but I submitted some purchase requests for some expensive books to assist me with studying for certifications. Not 1 - but 3 books were approved for purchase and was there in a few weeks. Quiet - numerous computers, and an ever growing library - and if they don't have it - they won't hesitate to ordering it for you! Oh and no late fees - can't beat that.

Before the awards, we were able to venture around the library that has its own museum, connected cafe with limited hours, conference rooms, a bookstore, a study area where you can rent laptop and a vending machine area. Their bookstore had great surprise book packs and dvd packs. The detail in what was included as well as the wrapping made it enticing and so reasonably priced. The activities they had during the event were so fun. Button making, art contests, balloon animals, and bracelet marking. I really enjoyed this library and all it had to offer.
