Here I go again, another PET scan, and this time a year early, oh well...my doctor says the eariler we catch it the better...I am nervous, scared and worried. But my friends here at Palm Imaging are so kind and comforting and they understand so very dearly. They know we're scared and if you tell them they have the opportunity to comfort you, so don't be afraid to tell them just how scared you really are when you have to get scanned! Sept 13, 2012 after a PET scan here I was diagnosed with nearly stage three cancer...what an ordeal and a very hard process to get rid of the cancer. And...here I am, alive, and life is very precious. This imaging center is part of my team, my history is here, and they are awesome. It's wonderful to be a cancer survivor, and to be alive, but you are always worried and in the back of your mind afraid the cancer may come back, and I am most of the time a positive person. My team of doctors are always on top of it, too. And, Palm Imaging is part of my team and where my cancer history lives. Angie works at Palm Imaging, and I know her by name because she makes the PET scan appointments. Today I spoke with her because my doctor had me get my PET scan sooner, so Angie moved up the date effortlessly, she is so compassionate and kind. Everyone at Palm Imaging really cares. So here's a little story: Putting up a fence with my son (for a second time, don't ask!) I had a 2 X 6 X 12 hit me in the face and during the CT scan of my head, a tumor was discovered, after four biopsies and one at Palm Imaging luckily the tumor was negative. Now...my CEA markers (tumor marker in blood work) are up so I am going to get a PET scan "a year early". So...yeah I am a bit scared, worried and nervous. But I know come Tuesday, they will be nice and comfort me so I will feel safe. Through it all, I know that no matter what I have a team of doctors and centers like this one that won't give up on me, and I have truly exceptional care from them all. So we had an appointment at Palms for ultrasound. Palms called the day before with instructions to drink 20 oz of water before coming. When we arrived, the restroom was used! It was THEN they came out and said "we need a full bladder"! So after another 1/2 hour of drinking more water, they took her in! Please issue CORRECT AND COMPLETE INSTRUCTIONS prior to visit !! #EpicFail read more

Most unorganized and unprofessional experience I have ever had at a healthcare facility. I'll start by taking some of the blame because my orders had been accidentally thrown away but I didn't realize they were gone until the morning of my appointment. My appointment was at 7:30, I called at 6:45 after tearing my house apart to notify the office of my situation that I could not find my orders to which they told me I needed the orders to go through with the procedure and that I would have to get new ones. I spent another 25 minutes looking for them hoping they would show up but they didn't and my doctors office was closed until 8 so I was not able to call them for a copy. I called the office back to cancel the appointment since I knew I wasn't going to make it on time and explained my situation again telling her my appointment is at 7:30 and I wouldn't be able to get a copy of the orders until 8 when my doctors office opened and the lady I spoke to said it was fine, to just come in and they would work it out and contact my doctor once her office opened. I rushed over there thrilled that they were able to work with me and arrived at about 7:45 (about 15 minutes late). I filled out all the paperwork and sat and waited for my name to be called. About a half hour later I was called to the desk and told that my appointment was being cancelled because I was late....after sitting for over half an hour. I explained that had they told me when I called the first time, first thing in the morning, that they could work with me I would have been on time but they left me under the impression that I would not be seen unless I found the orders but it wasn't until I called the second time to cancel my appointment since I couldn't find the orders (about 10 minutes before my appointment time) that they told me everything would be fine and to just come in so I rushed to the office as quick as I could. While speaking with the lady at the front desk the tech came out and told me my procedure would take 45 minutes and she only had 15 minutes until her next appointment, she told me that she had just found out that I was in the office (after I had been sitting in the office for 30-45 minutes at this point) and told me that had she been notified as soon as I got there she would have most likely been able to squeeze me in but now it was too late and she did not have time for me. Their solution was for me to wait in the waiting room and hope someone doesn't show up for their appointment as if I have all the time in the world to be waiting around for an ultrasound all day. I left the office in tears because I was so frustrated with how they handled everything. I am appalled that they would have me come into the office and go through all the hoops and waste my time just to tell me that they have to cancel my appointment due to miscommunication on their part. I also don't understand why I received two completely different answers in regard to my dilemma after my two phone calls to the office. read more

Terrible service and terrible wait times. We had an appointment at 330, and waited an hour to get seen... And then I wasn't allowed to go with my wife for an ultrasound? Terrible everything. Go somewhere else if you can. read more

Worst place ever went for our first ultrasound of our baby and they would not let me share the moment with my spouse. We are so mad and frustrated with it because it was such an important moment we won't get back. read more

I had a terrible experience getting an ultrasound here. I was hoping my first experience seeing my baby would be an enjoyable one but I was sooo wrong. I don't know the Ultrasound Technologists name but I know she had shoulder length brown hair. Anyway... this pinched angry faced woman came in the room obviously pissed off about something, as she proceeded to take it out on everyone. The sour faced doctor began to scold her assistant in front of me, (which by the way the assistant was super nice and doing a good job) Then she aggressively told me to move in a better unspecified position. I didn't know what she even wanted until the assistant quickly told me what the doctor meant. for most of the time she faced the screen away from me so I couldn't even see the baby. until the end for a couple minutes. Oh and also answering random calls about other employees literally over the top of me on the wall over the bed. She was very ruff and pushed too hard into my stomach while treating me like I wasn't even a person. I figured I wouldn't complain encase she might be even more mean. She was extremely rude and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend getting an ultrasound here. read more

As I sit in my car waiting for my appointment I write this review. I walk in the office at 9:00 am as my appointment was 9:15- come to find out that's my check in time and my actual appointment is at 9:30. I'm required to come with a full bladder and I also had to hire a sitter as they told me over the phone no kids, ok fine understandable. I walk in the office and the first receptionist said we will get to you in a minute have a seat in the rudest tone. The next receptionist finally helps me and proceeds to tell me to leave because it's to early for my appointment check in even though they called to confirm my appointment and stressed to be on time . No one said my appointment was at 9:30 I was only told to be here by 9:15. This is my second bad expierence at this office- the first one they no showed for my appointment at 8am and no one came until 8:45am - that's another story . Honestly if you have the option to go elsewhere I would- I'm not one to post reviews but the receptionist is the face of the business and they have rude rude receptionists ruining an experience from the first 5 minutes! read more

Today was my 3rd visit there. The staff up front could work on personality.. The girl today was extremely nice. My wait time was 15 minutes. The staff in back Linda and Cole are excellent!! Friendly and have a sense of humor. I would recommend it!! read more

I had a message and a call stating my appointment was at 2pm. I showed up at 1:30 and they said my appoint wasn't until 2:30. Needless to say I wasn't seen until 3:30. I didn't even get to watch when they did the ultrasound. The tech would just make comments how active the baby was and I had to ask him to show me and he would turn the screen for a moment. read more

Horrible experience with our first baby's ultrasound. The female technician was careless and put a lot of pressure in my stomach. Most of the staff there is extremely rude. I made sure that it wasn't the same technician for my second ultrasound because I wasn't going to take it anymore. The second ultrasound wasn't great as my husband and I didn't really had the time to see our baby. Staff here looks miserable and have 0 customer service. Instead of being a great experience they have made our experience HORRIBLE! read more

My husband has had to have a number of procedures done over the past few months. Our doctor highly recommended Palms and were are so happy he did. The women at reception are friendly and welcoming. The nurses and doctors have been extraordinary in the best sense of the word. For years we went to Grossman. What they did was fine, but it was not a friendly place. One would think any person can empathize with someone who is being faced with the stresses that accompany a medical condition requiring a CT Scan; Especially someone in the medical field. However, I cannot say that I was treated with empathy as a patient after my experience with the employees at Palms Imaging Center. I am very disappointed in the service I received. I called and asked what the cost would be for a CT Scan since my insurance may not cover the procedure. The receptionist said it was not a problem and gave me a quote of 300-450. I told her I'd be a cash patient if the insurance didn't cover it. I then called Saturday to schedule the appointment and two days later I was left a voicemail stating they wanted to give me information on my insurance and that my appointment had to be cancelled (I was suddenly disregarded & unwelcome when it was assumed I couldn't pay). I was really disappointed to learn that my appointment had been cancelled without anyone speaking to me personally. I called to see if there was an error or if I could possibly keep my appointment because it was very important to me but I was told the slot had been filled. I said it was very unfair that the appointment was cancelled without anyone speaking with me, especially since I had already made arrangements with my work and knew I'd be a cash patient. I was told there was nothing I could do by the receptionist. I asked the receptionist if I could get the name of a supervisor to speak with about the incident and she said the person that cancelled it is the supervisor. I then asked who is her supervisor and she said I would have to call and speak to her first in order to get the name for the person above the supervisor. True outreach to those in the community as patients is possible, but not with this center. Courtesy and an apology go a long way, something I did not receive when coming in contact with Palms Imaging Center. read more

My husband and I have had three horrible experiences here. We used them to do our first ultrasound with our first pregnancy. They called my name to come back and my husband and I stood up and started to follow the technician. He was stopped abruptly at the door and told he needed to wait outside for the first half of the ultrasound. The technician did various measurements without saying a word to me for almost 30 minutes. Cold, horrible bedside manner. I finally asked if my husband would be joining us soon. She went and got him and five minutes later our ultrasound was over. My husband wasn't able to see much of anything and I was upset to the point of tears that Palms had destroyed what should have been a wonderful day as we took our first glimpse of our child. We left in utter disappointment with two pathetic pictures of our baby. A few hours later, I received a phone call that the technician hadn't taken good enough shots during the ultrasound and that I would need to come back in for another appointment so that they could get what they needed. We made another appointment for the next day. We waited to be seen for over an hour. The receptionists could care less that we were waiting so long---or that we were there for the second time due to THEIR ERROR. We had the same exact thing happen to us as we did the first day. My husband and I were separated while they did the first half of the ultrasound. No talking or eye contact from the technician during this part. He was allowed in again briefly at the very end of the procedure. Absolutely awful. Our third experience was after our son was born. Our pediatrician sent us to Palms for an ultrasound of our son's head. It was quite a scare as we were literally directed same day over to Palms from their office. We arrived and when we were called back, we had a nasty technician with an attitude. My husband was told he needed to wait outside bc only one person was allowed in with our son. Well, this time I absolutely lost it. I said, no, he will be coming in with me. She responded that the room was small and that there wasn't enough space. We argued back and forth a bit and ultimately she led a frightened mother back to her little room where I wanted to break down and sob. She continued making comments as we sat down on the gurney. One of which was something to the effect of how she didn't see why people needed someone back there anyways. The child has one parent with them for support. Again, I lost it and said "The support isn't for him (my infant son), IT'S FOR ME!". She huffed, slid the door open and went down the hall to the waiting room and retrieved my husband. At the end she apologized claiming that Palms puts pressure on the technicians with time and that having more people in the room makes it more stressful for them. Needless to say, this place is a nightmare. We are pregnant now with our second child. Our OB/GYN has suggested Palms as one of our options for our ultrasound. Absolutely not! Never, ever again!!! read more

I'm only 29, but due to family history my doctor wanted me to have a mammogram. Needless to say, this is a pretty scary thing for multiple reasons. I work in Oxnard and wanted to find a place close by - that's the only reason why I chose this facility. I write this review with a large amount of experience in the medical field. EVERYONE at Palms Imaging was outstanding. They turned what could have been a horrible experience into a great one that I will have no problem repeating year after year. The girls at the front desk were courteous and had a sense of humor. I waited an average amount of time - I was early so I expected to wait. I was brought back within 5 minutes of my set appointment time by the female mammographer. I found out later by another patient that other local facilities very often have a male performing the mammograms. Perhaps if this wasn't my first I may not have cared... but it was really nice to have someone handling me who had the same body parts and understood how the process felt. Again, because of my age the process seemed a bit altered & she had to "shoot more views" than average, but she explained exactly what and why she was doing what she was doing which made me feel at ease. I then waited about 10 minutes in a "women's waiting room" for the Ultrasound tech. Again - another female! Once the ultrasound was completed the radiologist came into the room and let me know everything looked good - but explained in detail the importance of each test, what they do and don't show, and how often I need to have them. All in all, I left educated, feeling great, and my "OH CRAP!" situation turned into a "Ah! Not so bad!" situation. read more

The staff were very friendly and helpful! I went in for a routine mammogram and was out within 15 minutes. The girl who did the mammogram was wonderful. I highly recommend Palms imaging. read more

This is the best place ever to get a MRI or CT SCAN! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. If you can request Stephanie who is the most amazing tech ever! She was patient and understanding during the procedure. She is by far my favorite person in a medical setting. Truly a great place! read more

NO stars for this place if I didn't have to give one due to yelp! out of maybe 30 staff members, only found 1 person to be caring enough to address my grandmother and her needs. And this one person was not enough to ever make me want to go back! Took my grandmother in for an ultrasound, the Caucasian young girl performing the ultrasound was rude, inconsiderate of the elderly, and should not have a job to be quite honest. Her rude gestures and short answers said enough about this place. They are not people friendly and suck at professionalism!! DO NOT GET YOUR ULTRASOUNDS DONE HERE! specially the elderly, they have no manners. if you must go please have one of your family members accompany you. read more

There really is no way to adequately convey my appreciation to the entire staff of Palms Imaging Center for their care, concern, compassion, and professionalism. At a scary time when an unexpected cancer diagnosis has entered my world, with a whirlwind of tests and an upcoming surgery, I went to Palms for yet another pre-op test. Both the surgical oncologist and the medical oncologist wanted me specifically to go to Palms because of the quality of their imaging. I had no idea that the quality of their staff was going to be extraordinary as well. From the receptionists and schedulers (Ariana and all the others whose names I didn't happen to get but who helped me nonetheless) who understood the urgency and treated me with respect and priority, to Angie in management who showed a level of compassion that conveyed what an extraordinary person and professional she truly is, to Gabby B. and Ellen who made the CT experience unimposing and seamless (including for my husband, who was welcomed into the process), and to Radiologist and Medical Director Dr. Noorbehesht, for going the extra mile. I am very grateful to this fine group of professionals who treated me like a person, not just a patient. When it comes time for my PET scan, I'll be back at Palms, and I have every confidence they'll be as wonderful then as they were today. read more
