This review is for Dr. Ben Williams' practice. I had my teeth cared for by Dr. Williams and his staff for 30+ years. He was an exceptionally good dentist with a terrific manner and was always friendly. His staff of hygienists were excellent and remained your hygienist for years, even decades. His front office staff was exceptional, always dressed professionally and always presented themselves attractively. Like everyone else they were eternally upbeat, pleasant and helpful. Everyone knew you by sight. Plus, Dr. Williams had an epically wonderful waiting room. The leather chairs and couches remain the most comfortable on which I've ever sat. In the center was a circular table with all types of interesting reading material. It was better than home. I was sorry to see Dr. Williams retire but he certainly earned it. Hope he's doing well. My dentures were removed and my gums were cleaned. The dentures were cleaned separately and then reinserted. All went well comfortably.

Hublersburg, PA Susan states, very well, a good experience in caring hands so I don't have anything to add there except that I am so appreciative of Dr. Williams and his Assistants. Thank you so very much. However, I am concerned, when suggested I wait many many months for a procedure due to the doctor's absence and there is no one for me to obtain services suggested while he is away. I would recommend Dr. Williams and his Assistants and have voted for them in the past for State College's "Best Of" Magazine issue. So, this is one of those posts when one does well it's short and sweet. And, then, when one doesn't do well, it's longer. ***As far as the Rolling Ridge Front Office Personnel. I have to be honest that it has deterioated post 2020 to something unrecognizable and some staff not even "approachable". Dr. Williams has always had the best and most professional, friendly and impeccible customer oriented excellence for an Office Staff. I credit that to his wife who set the example in communication with clients and kept the office atmosphere in high regard. That was the quality of every Office person while she was there. Now---gone are the cheery welcomes and eagerness to answer a question and offer an explanation that a client could agree "answered the question" and actual followup to call the client back. I do not understand where sudden responses in a tone of Hostility and abruptness and impatience is originating. I am a paying client. I am not a punching bag. My fees for services pay the Front Office. As a customer oriented Dental Office worker, it would be my job to always treat the client with respect, courteousness, professionalism and offer communication that is understandable. That takes skill and "listening" and patience. IN CONCLUSION: Prices at Rolling Ridge are not cheap. I pay for my services. I am paying the Front Office workers. I wonder if they have ever considered that. I do not appreciate to be spoken down to or treated disrespectfully or curtly. First and foremost, it's unprofessional. Absolutely awful service. For a simple root canal I had to visit this place 4 times! The dentist spend 45 minutes on my tooth, only to tell me he cannot do it! Then I had to go somewhere else and pay extra to have the root canal. Then I came back to this place for the crown, again he failed to do it! He made my gums bleeding so hard that he had to use special equipment to stop my bleeding! Then sent me home to come back in two weeks to let my gum heal from his aweful procedure. Then, he could finally make the mold and install the crown. Five visits and whole lot more out of pocket for this incompetent poeple. read more

I was in State College for the week when my dull toothache turned into a really insane crater of pain. I started calling around Wednesday night for the first available appointment I could get. It was the week after Christmas at 5pm and many offices were closed but luckily Rolling Ridge was open AND they had an opening for the following day. I booked it then took many ibuprofen. Here's what I liked: * I got a call the next day saying an earlier appointment time had become available. Awesome! I snatched it up. * The office and reception area was lovely. The music was also great and not cheesy. * I was called to the back office by Brooke who was not only professional and efficient but was absolutely lovely! * They have the back exam rooms open air and set up like office spaces with cubicles but with total privacy. All the equipment looked new and modern. * My appointment was with Dr. Adrian and not only was he super hot but he was also knowledgeable, professional and didn't try to rip me off. It turns out my epic toothache was a result of a sinus infection and not actually a cavity. So they sent me on my way. I don't live locally but if I did I would most definitely have Dr. Adrian tend to all of my oral needs. read more

I have been going to RRDC for about 4 years I think. I think the dental services that they provide are pretty good. The office is clean, the staff is friendly, and the dentists are professional. I have been mostly pleased with the dental care I have gotten from them. There's one issue that I am not happy with but I guess they did all they could because what needed to be done supposedly would have cost me a fortune, even with my dental insurance, so I chose not to have the procedure done. I've been a patient here for many years, and like others have said the practice used to be better. Dr. Williams retired and patients were not notified - I learned when I showed up for an appointment and was told another dentist would be seeing me. At another appointment the hygienist completely missed one section of my mouth in part of the cleaning - I said something to her, and she said "no, I have a system." I am sure she does have a mental system and thought she had covered it, but my gums get sore from that part of the cleaning and when I left I could feel the difference. The front desk staff is also difficult with appointments - confirmations used to be possible by email, but now I get voicemails saying if I don't confirm with a person that my appointment will be cancelled, yet I can never get through on the phone and they don't always listen to their own voicemails. Sadly I would not recommend the practice anymore, and my family is going elsewhere. read more

Three years ago I would have rated this dentist practice more highly. But poor patient care and even poorer financial practice in the past two years have led me to change to a different dental practice. Last year, it took several months before the dentist properly evaluated a tooth that was bothering me, and by then the tooth had to be extracted. Of course they had to refer me to a dental surgeon to have that done and replaced with an implant. Then, they overcharged me for just placing a crown on that implant, failing to give me credit for the large amount the insurance company paid them. Despite my repeated requests, they still have not refunded me the $619 they owe me, explaining that "Oh, corporate head office just takes a long time." With my money. Also, they experience constant turnover with hygienists and support staff; I suppose that is why they take no personal interest in the patient. Office person named Hunter, when I explained my reason for changing to a different practice, just said "OK, that's fine." read more

Dr. Damian is an excellent dentist. Unfortunately his office staff is not equally excellent in their roles. They consistently confirmed my appointments repeatedly (text/email/phone) in the weeks leading up to the appointment, and then they cancelled or changed the appointment at the last minute. This happened on 3 separate occasions. In one instance they called the day of the appointment to move it and then kept me waiting 45 minutes *in the dentist chair* anyway. They do bill you on time, however - - for example, in one instance because of their postponement I received bills (both email and paper copies) before the rescheduled appointment ever even happened. I have tried repeatedly to talk with the office staff about both the billing issue and the rescheduling but they have a list of excuses ready. They do not want to hear any feedback, take responsibility or offer any reasonable solutions. In fact, when I explained that their reputation in our small town community was floundering due to these scheduling and customer service issues, Hunter (front office) responded, "That's fine." Today, June 13, 2023, my appointment for a cleaning next week -- which I scheduled in November 2022 -- was cancelled by them and I was offered a February 2024 reschedule date. No thank you. As I said, Dr. Damian is excellent, and if you have more patience and flexible time than I do you may be able to look past these challenges with the office staff (specifically Hunter). read more

Honestly so annoying to deal with. On every occasion we've scheduled, the appointment gets changed to some absurd later date. My appointment for next week was just rescheduled, and they put me in for 7 months from now! I'll be past due for my next appointment by then! They also do a pile of unnecessary mouth scans on your first visit. Is LIDAR for my mouth really necessary?? If at all possible, don't bother dealing with them. The doctors have no regard for keeping their schedule even though we schedule, altering our own work schedules, far in advance. Yes, there is a Seinfeld episode about this. read more

This place has the worst front office staff I have ever seen in my life. They used to have excellent staff. In the last year and a half as a patient I saw probably close to a dozen staff leave. This place has absolutely no loyalty to employees or patients. Obviously. My husband and I both were talked to like trash today from Hunter and some new girl in training. These girls need to learn customer service skills or they will single-handedly ruin the reputation of what once was a very nice dental office due to their nastiness that was the final straw for us today. We will not be going back there. I have a tooth with a filling that came out that Dr. Damian put in that I now have to pay to have fixed somewhere else when he should be paying for it. It should not be coming out after a year. There is no way I will subject myself or any member of my family to the unprofessionalism and cruelty of this office. My husband and I have been patients at this office for over 5 years. I stated above over the past year and a half. We have seen some serious changes going on in this office. We have tried to be patient and tolerant but enough is enough. After we were mistreated so poorly on the phone today by just simply trying to schedule an appointment for a tooth that was not fixed properly that needed to be repaired. We then told Hunter we didn't wish to be patients there anymore if we were going to be treated like that and her response was okay fine, I will close your account. Real. I have been a patient for two years. I came to this practice because they offered Saturday hours which is important to me since I work in Pittsburgh but live in State College. One year in, they cancelled my Saturday appt and told me they no longer offered Saturday appts. They told me they accepted United Concordia insurance except the United Concordia insurance I have. Then on my scheduled appt this past Friday I came to the office for my scheduled appt to find the office CLOSED! When I called they said they tried to call me. I had no missed calls on my home phone or cell phone although I had received both their email and text to confirm my appt earlier that week which I responded to. Unreliable!! I have been seeing Dr. Williams for approximately 20 years. He and his staff are so knowledgeable and friendly. After many years of being frightened of dental offices as a child and young adult, I am actually at ease when I go to Rolling Ridge Dental Care. They always make sure that I am comfortable and they truly do beautiful work. Dr. Williams has always made time in his schedule to see me when I have an emergency. Last evening I had an implanted tooth become loose, this implant was done by an oral surgeon who was not willing to see me for months. I called Dr. Williams office and the receptionist made me an appointment today. I highly recommend this dental practice for they are excellent in all aspects of dental care and their customer service is impeccable! read more
