Aaron came out and got up on our roof, even fixing a gasket around the sewer pipe, but they weren't able to help us with the original window issue. He recommended several people and actually followed up to see if we got what we needed. Aaron did all of this without any money exchanged. Fast forward a few months to the storm on/around October 14, 2017. This is the same storm that did quite a bit of damage to World's of Fun. Trees were uprooted there and parts of the park were flooded. A tree in our front yard had a large limb and part of the tree fall on the front part of our house/roof. We used Farage Tree and Stump removal to get the limb off the roof. We had used them before and they even came that night to have it removed. Our insurance company had an adjuster come out and they said we would need a new roof. The Insurance company said we should pick who we wanted to do the job for us. We called several places to have our roof looked at. Due to all the storms this year, most people were backed up. Aaron from Fidler on the Roof came and looked at the roof quite quickly. Another roofer finally did come but never replied to our emails after the visit. Both estimates were very close in price. Aaron helped us with picking out colors and gave us all the information we needed. He gave us an estimate of when they could get the roof completed by and communicated well. He also communicated with the Insurance agent and made sure they had everything so we could get the insurance check quickly. We had a few minor issues with starting on the day of the project (they got caught up finishing another project and one of the trailers broke), but once they began they worked quickly. Tarps were placed around the house and care was taken to minimize trash. They stripped the shingles in a few hours, and by 1 pm the next day they had the shingle work completed. Our roof is fairly small but steep in pitch. A fascia board cracked and an interior beam had a slight crack in it as well from the tree damage. Aaron used a carpenter that works with them to complete that aspect of the job. He came a few days later and finished that work perfectly. The other company who came to give us an estimate could not do this work. We would have had to find someone else to complete the carpentry work. Flashing around our chimney was the last step and that was completed the following week. They communicated every step and even sent photos from the roof of the work completed. After dealing with a lot of companies, I will say Aaron and Fidler on the Roof is a respectable and straight forward business. They were busy and sometimes things happened (a few timing issues), but Aaron was always there to answer any questions we had and was good to his word. I would recommend them and their work to anyone.

I called to see about making an appointment and the receptionist was so very helpful in articulating the potential issues I could be facing based on my description of the failure. She set me up for a service call that very afternoon, and my technician, Jeff, arrived just a bit early. I fully expected a worst case scenario diagnosis and a hard sell for new doors and openers. Imagine my surprise when Jeff told me the doors I had were actually in pretty good shape. He talked with me about what was happening on the failed door and made some observations about the door that was still functioning. Not once did he push me to buy something I didn't need. During this, Mark did everything in his power including communicating with the local government to acquire documentation, policies, etc, that backed the claim. This is far beyond anything we have ever experienced from a company like this. This also includes the fact we went through almost 5 other roofing companies before he asked if he could assist. We had a new roof and gutters in no time despite the utter hatred from our insurance company (we left them after due to their unprofessional conduct towards us) Fast forward in time. We had our house painted after all the work was done, and the painters did a great job but they cut a couple corners that left a nice capture point for water to come into our house. Mark came out with a couple of his crew members (as we thought we had new damage), and they jumped up on the roof, looked things over, and, without even blinking an eye, had it fixed. It's been months of heavy rain and no issues. Explained the situation, didn't place any blame, but did explain and show where the issue was (we placed the blame knowing what was done by the painters in that area) and said it should be good, and it is! This is the type of company you want working on your home. They stand by their workmanship, make things look good, and keep it to code. Even the products utilized helped us get a discount on our new home insurance. 10 out of 5 star rating!

We spent a good 12+ months researching online and in person as to which windows and installer to use. We settled on Total Home KC at the recommendation of others and other contractors who use them, and we also settled on Marvin Integrity windows (fiberglass exterior, real wood interior). We have casement windows and they are not cheap, or easy to replace. We had 33 total panes of glass replaced - 17 windows out of 19 in the house - all complete frame replacements inside and out (no insert replacements -forget that). So it was a HUGE project financially for us, so we didn't take it lightly. We were very apprehensive. Bottom line - Total Home KC is HANDS DOWN the best window installers and Marvin Integrity, with the real wood interiors for a top-end look, and fiberglass exterior for lifetime maintenance-free, was perfect. Jake Matthew, Total Home KC's Window guy, is the best in the business - up front, easy to talk to, knows the window replacement business, honest, responsive, and trustworthy. The company took the job with good intentions. But rather than admit they were in over their heads and leave the job for someone more capable to tackle, the owner gave one excuse after another regarding delays and was constantly postponing dates. A year and half later when no windows materialized, I asked for my deposit back. The owner has returned only a third of the deposit in three months. I couldn't be more disappointed with this company. If you choose to go with this company, good luck. I hope your experience goes much better than mine.

They installed new wall insulation, plywood, house wrap and James Hardie lap siding, soffits and facia board. They had excellent communication during the bidding process were patient with me throughout all of my questions about the expectations for the product and work as well as during the installation process. When contacted the team, I received a response in less than 24 hours and sometimes I received the response in person. They even fixed a problem with the roof that had never been resolved by a roofing company to ensure I didn't continue to have issues with water run off ruining my soffits. Every day they left the job site cleaner than it was when they started the job. My family and I always felt comfortable with everyone that was on site and they ensured there was as little disruption to our daily lives as possible. When there were delays in getting the windows, that I ordered separately, they were understanding and prompt in getting back out to my house to get the last piece of the job completed. We wish we could hire them to work on all of our contractor needs. I would recommend them over and over!
