I typically don't write negative reviews but I have been so disappointed in the wooden fence installation by Slagle a few years ago. To begin with they missed nailing in the bottom of approximately 20 fence pickets. When they came back to complete them, they just nailed the pickets to the angle that horizontal rail that had fallen. Another area has a small 12" extension added as a horizontal rail instead of using a longer rail. Some of the horizontal rails used are badly deteriorated already. Recently a section of the fence had come undone because of inadequate attachment at a corner. I will not be using Slagle in the future for my fencing needs. read more

The bid process as well as the actual install lacked communication and timeliness and there was some back and forth via email due to a lack of responsiveness from the salesperson completing the bid. On the actual install date, the crew showed up over an hour after the scheduled time and immediately left for an hour and a half break, resulting in them going almost three hours over our time slot, well into the evening. We only had part of our yard fenced and overall the fence itself looks pretty good so far, and I thought the quote was fair. read more

Slaytor Parks did an outstanding job as a seller; walked the area, took good numbers for the size of the yard, did a great job on the proposals. The Crew that did the work was FANTASTIC! They worked their TAILS off, in substantial heat and even in some rain. But the job they did was absolutely outstanding. We recently had a wooden fence installed by Slagle. Rowdy Jones, their estimator, walked the property with me as I explained the work that needed done. We needed a land survey, and while Slagle does not provide that service, he gave me the name of someone they recommended, and also got a separate bid from the surveyor so we did not have to contact them. In addition, we had tree limbs and other foliage hanging over the old fence which needed to be dealt with before the fence removal and Rowdy made sure to include that in the bid as I requested. We got bids from at least 5 other fence companies and Slagle was the only one who included everything we needed. I should also mention that the day of the fence installation, we received an email which detailed how they were going to proceed that day and included the names and email's of the Production Manager, Estimator, and Office Manager for any questions we might have. Working with Rowdy and Kayla Thompson, their office manager was very easy and they always responded promptly with any questions I had. I would definitely recommend Slagle Fence for any of your fencing needs. read more

I've never had a back and forth on social media but this is absolutely untrue. A lot of companies record customer calls. Post it if I am wrong. This is literal libel. With having to reposition 13 of 17 posts, Ruben told me I would receive the discount for the damages to the lawn and I was charged full price and I said I wouldn't pay until we figured this out. I was willing to pay, but the price didn't reflect the discount Ruben and I discussed. That's when your employee said well we can just repossess the fence. That is when I told him I could hire someone to fix the yard then pursue you for costs. The employee laughed in my face saying "go ahead and try" then followed with "we could just put a lien on your house". I am embarrassed about how I lost control but Slagle botched this job then their employee disrespects me. I was upset when he spoke about putting a lien on my families home. I accused him of threatening me with a lien and he said it wasn't a threat so I then said "Yes it was. That is like me saying I could come down to your office and beat the breaks off you." Not my proudest moment, but what you are saying is absolutely false. How is this "mistake" corrected? Also, they charged my card that was on file for the down payment without speaking with me since our talk Friday. read more

I had to get trees cut down to meet slagle's start date plus had outside parties scheduling conflicts. Seems like a good company until there's a problem. Bought a fence and put 1/2 down. They started work placing posts. Received a call the n ext day from the homeowners association President telling me my neighbors were upset because they were encroaching on their property. Called the sales guy. His response was he was right and everyone else was wrong. They could only be off a few centimeters. I looked at the post placement and could tell they were around 10' too deep. The plat they got from the city showed the back of everyone's lot terming in a straight line. Had to order a $600 survey from their "partner." Survey showed them 9' too deep and sides were all 3' to the right. Talked to the sales guy a few days later who apologized and said it was his fault, then ask for another $3250 to fix it! Said that since we didn't get a survey, which h e didn't recommend, it was our problem! I objected since it was his screw up, so he offered a 35% discount. Knowing that if I didn't agree to something they would not finish the project and keep my $3800 deposit, I acquiesce to $1600 additional. They finished the work, covering a sprinkler access with part of the fence and leaving out a gate which they fixed.i launched a call to the company to talk to the owner. Was told he lives in Columbia South America. So much for locally owned. Left a message for Luke, his brother and GM. Instead of calling me he called my wife, berated her, made misogynistic comnents, and thoroughly pissed me off by trying to go around me. I called the guy back and qui kly realized he didn't know squat about anything, misquoting the deal numbers, lying about not having my phone number to call me back, etc. He acknowledged his salesperson confessed to it being his fault, and also acknowledged that had I not agreed to pay the additional they would have stopped work and kept the deposit, however he wasn't taking any responsibility. The final thing he said to ne was "I'm standing behind Slater," the guy who admitted it was his mistake The guy clearly isn't bright doesn't care if they screw things up, and only cares about how much money they make. His inability to accept responsibility, as a reputable company would, especially since his employee recognizes his mistake, tells you everything you need to know about them. Hire them at your own risk. You might be the customer for whom things go well! read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. I have been less than impressed with our fence from Slagle, and with their response to my issues. Our fence was installed in October 2020 during the lumber shortage. I was told they were going to use 1x4x6 pickets instead of 1x6x6 due to supply issues. We needed the fence on schedule, so we agreed to the smaller pickets assuming the quality would be the same, just a slightly different look. We were completely wrong. The quality of the wood is pathetic at best. In just under two years, we have had multiple pickets break off underneath the bottom horizontal brace. They broke off when touched by the lawn mower. The wood is also being chipped away by the weed eater, and is warping. The neighbor behind us has a Slagle fence, and have none of these issues, so I know that the quality of wood we received is subpar. I called to inquire about warranties and was told that there is only a 1 year warranty. When I explained everything, I was told to fill out the repair form and upload the pictures so they could review the damage. I did this, and received this response: "No pictures uploaded to repair form so we can't tell the type of damaged that was done fo fence. Extra materials will be billed as well. Please sign if you'd like to move forward" The invoice was for $100, plus trying to charge for the materials to repair the poor quality fence we received. I responded over a week ago with the attached pictures and did not receive a response back, even after sending a follow up email. Clearly they have zero intentions of making things right. There is no reason a fence less than two years old should be literally crumbling, especially for the amount of money we paid for the fence in the first place. The fact that they think we would give them another dime is comical! Not pictured in the images is the pieces of broken pickets that were already reattached due to tiny dogs needing to be contained. read more

Called for a bid over a month ago. Waited for a few weeks for a bid. After Rowdy shows up he says a bid will come soon. He could get the work done pretty easily using what we got. He's have to out source if we wanted an electric gate. After 3 weeks NOTHING. Called. Waited a few days. Fired off Email to everyone I could. Finally he sent an email saying he couldn't do the electric gate and he sent a referral. ???????!? I just need a bid on a damn fence and price on a regular gate. The electric gate was just for reference. I keep explaining this to them. So Today I stopped waiting. I would suggest to anyone if you don't want to do a job say it. Communication is key. I had quite a few questions about the slope of my yard, a new retaining fence, dirt settling, property lines, etc. multiple times Adam and Slaytor answered my questions via phone and email. I would not recommend this company. Our fence was completed 2 years ago and it's falling apart and looks terrible. Majorly warped posts and boards, and boards that have split completely away from the fence. The quality isn't there at all. Our gate is broken already and we can't even use it and they have not responded to multiple emails, calls and messages. The way they installed the hinges is the reason the gate is broken - it split the wood in two. read more

This company is a complete joke, it's no wonder they have a D rating with the Better Business Bureau! They have terrible communication and customer service. They were extremely hard to get ahold of and whenever I would get to talk with someone, no one was on the same page. They would show up at different times then they specified. Sometimes they completely no-showed all together. They never communicated schedule changes. They hardly communicated at all. The install crew had no clue where the fence was supposed to be set, had no instruction from the man who did the estimate. We gave them a general idea and they proceeded to measure with a string attached to a Gatorade bottle. They rushed the install and put the entire fence up in just over 4 hours. Sounds like a good deal but because they rushed it and gave the post no time to cure, they were loose and some could be lifted straight out of the ground. There were several gaps and spots where our dogs could escape from the fence. Which is the whole point of having a fence, to keep pets and children inside the yard! We went a week with no gates and it took 3 phone calls to get an answer on when we should expect them. 3 pm on a Friday I was told by Ruben they were getting installed that day. 20 minutes later I get a call from Rowdy saying how gates are custom made and take about a week and he'd been in touch the following week. I informed him that Ruben had just told me they were done and coming to install that day and he himself was surprised and confused. Well jokes on me because by 7pm no one had shown up. Apparently Eric, the man who was supposed to come install the gates, ran into some issues and would come the next morning, Saturday. Which is not a big deal, stuff happens, but I would not have know what was going on had I not contacted Ruben again just after 7:00 pm asking what was going on. Again, terrible customer service. Of the 3 gates we had installed, one was missing the post caps which allowed rain water to get inside the gate, one had a large gap at the bottom that we could put our entire foot under, therefore allowing our Yorkies to escape, and 2 of the gates didn't fit properly in the opening, leaving large gaps and latches that didn't close properly. The fence was installed 9/10/21. Gates installed 9/17/21. It took 2 weeks to get someone to show up to look at the issues with the fence 9/29/21. On that day Rowdy saw for himself the issues with the fence. He said the fence should have never been installed all in one day let alone in 4 hours. He said the entire fence would be removed, new materials ordered and we would "start from scratch". Another week went by and I had heard nothing. I reached out on 10/7/21 trying to get an update and was told they'd be coming the next day. No one ever showed up. I called questioning why no one came and was told, oh no, NEXT Friday they will be coming. Then to my surprise they show up at 6:00 pm the following Thursday. But they didn't do what we were told. They didn't remove the fence and start over. They simply dug around some, not all, post and added concrete. It had rained the night before and all day and the backyard was completely muddy. I had concerns on how the concrete could possible set properly in muddy ground and the fact that they didn't do what they said they were going to do so I sent an email to the estimator Rowdy and owner Adam Slagle expressing my concerns and dissatisfaction with their lack of communication. I got zero response. A few days later some new gates were dropped off. Just left leaning against the fence. I had no idea they were coming or when they'd be switched out. Few more days go by and someone showed up early one morning and switched the gates out. Not once when people from Slagle Fence showed up did they knock on our door to let us know they were here or what they were doing. They just did whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted with no concern with keeping us in the loop. A few days after the "new" gates were put in, 10/20/21, I got an email reminding me to pay the balance. Didn't ask if we were satisfied with the "repairs" or if we had any other issues/concerns. On 11/5/21 I got a phone call from Ruben at 11:22 am. I missed the call but he left a voicemail asking if we still had issues with the fence and if not, could I please pay the bill. Before I even had a chance to call him back, Adam Slagle fraudulently charged my card at 11:34 am. I don't even know how he got my card information and he certainly did not have my permission considering the work was not approved or complete. So in short, if you're looking for a company with piss poor communication, no regard for customer satisfaction, poor workmanship and who will steal your money when the work is not complete, Slagle Fence is the company for you. We had both a wood and metal section of fence installed. The staff was very responsive and accommodating when we had to remeasure and reschedule the install a few times due to an easement issue. The installers were tidy and completed the job within two days. Pricing was competitive to other companies I bid with but Slagle had significant more availability. read more

Had a 6' cedar fence installed. 1) They used insect damaged fence pickets. 2) Noticed when mowing that they didn't nail several of the fence pickets at the bottom. 3) Installed gate latches backwards. 4) Installed wrong size gate. 5) Gate started sagging within 6 mos. 6) Gate sagging again at 8 mos. 7) Gate sagging again at 11 mos and won't even open. 2 yr warranty they claim is FALSE! Adam (Owner) said they have been out too many times and refuse to fix my gate. Slagle Fence is not on BBB and now I know why. read more

Called a few companies in town and this one seemed the most interested from the go. Rowdy came out within a day or two of my initial phone call. A detailed estimate was e-mailed later the same day! Questions were answered in an extremely timely manor- compared to other contractors We'd been dealing with on various new home projects. The installation started about five days earlier than originally estimated - which we were super happy about. The crew of two (smaller yard) worked very diligently while making the least amount of disruption to our four week old sod. We will be recommending Slagle to all our friends and neighbors! read more

After asking for the replacement section of fence to match the rest of the fence that was pre-existing I was surprised to see that NEITHER of my requests (made before the materials were purchased) were done. I now have one fence that doesn't match the others. Worse...when brought to Adams Slagles attention, he acted as if I had no right to be disappointed because it wasn't what was quoted in the invoice. So, just know that with Slagle fence, any requests AFTER your bid has been returned will not be honored ... But you'll be LEAD to believe they will. Customizing of fences is apparently outside their wheelhouse . Also, expect no apologies. read more

Love my fence! I hate that I discovered why I have a clogged toilet! After trying to figure out why I had a clog- Inception Plumbing did some excavation and discovered that a fence post was placed in our sewer line. Cement and broken pipes! An $11000 fence has now cost me $22000! The company refuses to email back or call me. So, I am just writing this here- buyer beware! read more

Not sure where the previous high marks are coming from in less they are completing the survey's themselves. Tried to get an estimate which finally happened after I received the correct information to respond too. The estimate came back and looked acceptable so I began calling. Too many people involved in the beginning process which truly indicated to me that they were too busy. Rather than just say time and material are an issue they drug me along only to get another completely different bid two plus weeks later. The different bid came about at their position regarding the price of steel vs aluminum May be more favorable for me. It wasn't. Folks, take the time to call around and don't waste your time with this group. They are rude, unprofessional and unorganized. Your time does not matter to them. They will just go onto the next client, though I believe their business practices will catch up with them eventually. read more

We chose this company because they had the first available slot - should have known better. They requested 10% down, which I provided on a CC. They then came one day, mostly finished the fence, I heard nothing from them for 6 days and then they charged the rest of the cost (which was substantial) on the original cc without authorization. Most frustrating part is that I called to get an invoice (never received) and they passed me off the to owner who could never be bothered to call me back. I did not think the fence was done - if it is, they left wood all over own lawn, dead grass and pieces of wood propping up the fence. Never called to see how the service was and charged a card they were not authorized to charge. I cannot believe they have good reviews, I would never suggest them. I would rather pay more and wait longer than have people who do not care about their customers. read more
