I drove to Roma gourmet sausage on Eastern Avenue to buy fresh Kabasa. When I got there they gave me frozen Kabasa for $4.50 I could've walked from my house to giant food to get the same thing for $3.50. read more

Be forewarned, Roma is not a retail outlet...however, as a consumer, you can walk in and buy retail packaging from an office environment. I find their sausage, even as a salty food lover, very much on the salty side. However, since I use their product in my Italian dish preparation, I work around it. What you need to know is that you will be getting the FRESHEST sausage you will probably ever buy, unless, perhaps you make it yourself. I imagine the typical sausage you buy from the grocery store is probably already almost a week old. Here, you can get sausage made that day!! They have a little more than a half dozen options plus uncased bulk sausage. The prices are about $3.50/lb and discounts for volume purchases. They close kind of early, so it would behoove you to call ahead to make sure they are open and have what you are looking for. read more

I was so so happy to find this brand being carried in our local supermarkets here in Annapolis (Safeway, Food Lion, Giant). Being from a sausage town (Chicago), we sure miss our tube meat. Their hot italian sausage is our go to meat when making home made pizzas. Full of flavor and not loaded with copious amounts of fat, it really makes our pies sing. Their fresh Polish kielbasa is excellent. Very close to my native Lithuanian stuff I used to get on the South Side of the Windy City. If all you ever had is that bad smoked stuff from your grocer's refrigerated section, you will be amazed how good this is. We are trying out there "Abruzzese" Italian sausage tonight with our home made deep dish Chicago pizza. So far it tastes great, and I think it will be the perfect topping to recreate our Giordano's pie. read more

Great, fresh sausage made locally in Baltimore. Roma has some of the best sausage around, much better than any store brands or big national brands. They have a wide variety of sausages, both traditional pork and also some chicken sausages. My favorites are the Polish kielbasa, hot Italian (both pork and chicken), and the chorizo. Call ahead to see what they have fresh that day. You can save quite a bit buying it at the office instead of the grocery store. The last time I went in, to buy their signature Natty Boh Brats, I was standing in the office waiting for them to finish making my sausage, that's how fresh it is. You can't beat the value and quality, especially if you buy in larger quantities. But definitely call first. read more
