went here to get some fresh ground beef. great selection of beef and pork products, not to mention fresh oxtail, which is hard to find sometimes, and turkey bacon sliced to order. read more

Got a great cut and they trimmed the fat for us so we could get right into getting it ready. It smoked up great and cooked up great as well. No complaints at all! The fat ratio to meat ratio was great and they're very friendly at Fenwick's. We will definitely be back so if you're looking for a specific cut, call. I called on a Monday or Tuesday and picked up on a Friday I believe. So you may not have to wait long as they had it Thursday for me but I couldn't get out there in time. You do need to go pretty deep into cross street market to get to them but you can also explore other merchants while there.

Pork chops was ordered and once it was picked up took home to be cleaned the package has rat feces on almost all the meat. I called and even went back to the store and they told me that I was telling a lie and they were not going to refund me. Please don't get meat from them. The meat was so much better than the last ribs I purchased from Safeway. It just tasted fresher, had a great texture (AKA not frozen) and the cut I was so picky about was better than the prepackaged grocery store stuff. There are usually a bunch of butcher guys working at the counter, and while they aren't friendly in a "hey y'all!" Kind of way, they make the time to get you exactly what you want. You don't feel rushed. They could be a little friendlier... Prices are a bit higher than what I've been paying in grocery stores, that speaks more to the quality than price-gouging in my opinion. The worst part of Northeast Market is the high counters...ugh. That won't go in my rating, but short people should be advised - there's a bit of a reach for practically EVERYTHING in there.

Do yourself a favor, go to a grocery store, buy the Jack Daniels pulled pork, and nuke it: you will have a better dining experience. The Mac and cheese was gloopy and flavorless. The cornbread, inexplicable brought in by an outside vendor, was dry and terrible. The service here is awful: handling money and food with the same greasy gloves. Bad for the cash, bad for the food. The aesthetic is awesome-- the kind of intentional, beautifully designed interior that feels warm and curated rather than staged. It's trendy without being cold, and the Inner Harbor location makes it that much more special. I know there is a huge renovation planned "down the harbor" , this Matriarch is ALREADY READY! You get all the energy of the waterfront with a cozy, tucked-in feel once you're inside. Now, the coffee. I got a latte that was genuinely one of the better cups I've had in a long time -- smooth, rich, perfectly pulled. I also had a Chai and paired it with a cherry & cheese danish that was fresh and delicious, the ideal complement to the drink. I asked for it heated and it was hot all the way through. Hate it when I get it and it is cold in the middle...the barista understood the assignment and got us right! We had the matcha latte, and a menu special: solar eclipse which was chai with expresso macadamia nut milk and lavender syrup. Matcha was good flavor and quality. The drink special I pass, I gave it a fair try but it didn't taste good- there was a very acidic taste at the end. My first time in was after calling to see if they had gift cards, went without an answer . So I went there and nope. Waisted my time going there.

The first thing that jumped out at me when I walked in was how reasonable the prices are. I ordered an iced coffee and paid less than $3 which I loved! There are lots of fun drink options ranging from smoothies, your typical coffee drinks, and frozen coffee drinks. I saw some other customers order food and I'll have to try that next because it looked nice and fresh. The baristas were so friendly too. There are two floors to the cafe. The second floor seemed to be the "work" floor when I was there. There were plenty of people doing work on their laptops and hanging out. I can see myself coming here to work a lot in the future :)

Bird in…read moreHand is a really cute cafe, bookstore, which I plan to return to try the coffee and pastries I stopped for their Community Dinner event called Eat with Me. It was a community dinner party with Chef Char. You had a choice of a ticket with or without wine pairing. Me and my friend chose the ticket with wine pairing. The ticket included two glasses of wine. The menu was not printed online so we went in kinda blind on what was served. The first course was a roasted vegetable dish which consisted of broccoli, fingerling potatoes and pears with a Greek yogurt sauce. The second course was chicken thighs with risotto in a tomato sauce and the third course was a granola strudel with pears. There was also an arugula salad with grapefruit segments and parmesan cheese. I can be brutally honest, none of the courses were seasoned well. The first course was cold, the vegetables were wilted and did not mesh well. Was not expecting pears to be with my roasted vegetables. The second course was underwhelming as well. The food did not have any flavor and the dessert was not my favorite at all. I only ate the fruit out of the dessert. The chef did come out and let us know what each course was, however I felt that she really wasn't too personable with the guests. A few of the guests at the table were her friends so she only engaged with them, and of course they hyped her up, however the food was bland and underwhelming and the majority of the guests including myself did not finish their plates. If there is another community dinner, I hope it will be with a different chef in mind As I stated before my review is of the event, not the business as a whole.
