I went down to buy a carton on milk they had none, the staffer 3-11 he went into the kitchen got me a glass and filled it with milk. OVER AND ABOVE EXPECTATIONS. The room was super comfy, bed was firm with great pillows. I went down for coffee around 4:00 a.m. machine was clean and full ( I am one that opens the doors on machines to see its clean). Good coffee. Went back down about 5:30 a.m. breakfast was out and ready. Love the biscuits and sausage gravy and bacon. Look forward to our next stay.

I was planning on staying with family when going to Rio Grande to pick up my niece and nephews. I…read morehave a sister and her kids stay there, and my brothers kids also live there, so definitely some family time was going to be spent. Unfortunately, my niece that I was going to stay with ended up getting super sick and waiting on Covid results while I was already driving down there. The night I came in, eating dinner I made an online booking for a room with a king bed. I checked in 30 mins later and was upgraded for free by the amazing Julie. So I wasn't traveling alone, but i wasn't staying with my brothers family. Safety was definitely a concern staying at a hotel by myself, but there are so many military personnel that house at hotels in this area (border patrol) so my personal safety was no longer a concern after observing so many military ppl walking around. I felt absolutely safe. In my upgraded room, I had a pull out couch. I thought GREAT! My niece and nephew can spend the night! When I called front desk about linens for it, they immediately brought the linens and offered pillows. When I cut my finger they were kind enough to provide a bandaid. I loved my first night there so much, I booked it a second night, which was not planned. While there, my niece and nephew also got to enjoy the pool and hang with me. It was a great time hanging with them, even though I am bringing them with me back. The extra convenience is Family Dollar right in front for anything you need: snacks, drinks, toiletries. I'm used to Uber eats, which they don't do here, so be ready for Door Dash. No Uber either, but I didn't try Lyft because I have family in this area to get me around. The hotel staff was kind enough to provide the list of door dash restaurants. Definitely recommend, and only reason not a 5 star is because in the pool area was absolutely no shade or umbrellas and that would definitely be ideal and useful in this hot area. But pool was nice and clean! Julie was the nicest lady there, and handled a hot issue while I was there (another customer) and I was truly impressed on how cool and chill she was. She is THE BEST!!!

I'm then given another room where I'm forced to take a cold shower as the shower does not work properly. The drain was also plugged. Disgusting. Strangely the faucet has running hot water. Also the walls are so paper thin that I can hear the thoughts of the people in the other room(plus their tv). Never again!!!

This is not acceptable that you believe at my time of pain with the loss of a family member I should stand at a front desk and argue with a company you all have listed on your website. I will also share this email online and let others see how you have no compassion when it comes to death. How you blame the person that put trust in your company based off your reviews on your site for the nasty hotel you have listed. I will advise them to use a different company also will be filing a complaint against you all. I normally try not complain but, this is the worst experience I have ever had. Normally a company would try to Make things right. You on the other hand refuse to take responsibility and are blaming me the customer. I am impressed! Fast, friendly check in! Room was huge, bright and comfortable, loved the black out shades, comfy beds and plenty of room to work out! Large TV with plenty of channel selections, large shower and sink area - all good! As an Ambassador member they left a very generous gift basket loaded with snacks and drinks which was a nice gesture! They have a bar downstairs and small restaurant though I did not try it! Great location, close to shops and restaurants! Will definitely stay here again!

UPDATE: 3 days after my review, I received an email from 'Giselle Perez' apologizing for the…read moreissues I experienced. Pretty much the standard 'we're sorry we didn't meet your expectations . . .' Then she also indicated she was going to add loyalty points to my account. Okay - good gesture - props for addressing and trying to 'make it right'. Then a few days later a pending credit to my credit card showed up in the amount Inwas charged for the room and I was really impressed . . . But the pending credit disappeared the next day . . . and no loyalty points have been added to my account. I contacted Marriott Bonvoy and was told that points like that post in a few days. So - unfortunately - this property made a bad experience even worse! The initial review: So - positives and negatives. After having WiFi, streaming and plug-in/USB issues at the last 3 Marriott properties we've stayed at, we figured we'd give this place a try since part of their business model is open-concept and technology. The outside of the property was nicely done with different life-sized statues. The inside was very open and looked nice. The staff at check-in were friendly. The room itself was very open concept - not my usual 'type' of room but it was actually good - very modern as well. Plenty of USB and plug-ins which was good. The bed was ok - not great - much softer than we generally like but not too bad. The pillows were heavy and full-sized -- a big plus given the industry trend towards tiny wimpy pillows. The one nightstand had a 'music station' that looked like and old-fashioned radio but which is designed to use your device to play music. Nice - but it took up 90% of the nightstand. The bathroom was fine - no issues at all - plenty of counter space and a shelf underneath. That's where the good parts end. Given the streaming issues we've had at Marriott properties lately we tried the streaming - and - it would not work. It simply would not go into any screen to allow signing in - not for any streaming platform. They sent someone to look at it and said they had to 'escalate' it. So - same story as the other properties, but it was worse here because the streaming and technology is a BIG part of their business model. So - we tried the 'regular' tv. Unfortunately, while the menu showed channels, there was no program guide so you literally had to flip through every channel to see what was on. Again, very disappointing especially given their business model. Then, at 3:47 am, we heard an extremely loud voice - sounded like they were in our room. We kinda freaked out and then we realized there was nobody in the room but it was clearly someone speaking VERY loudly from in our room. After turning on all the lights, we found the hotel's walkie talkie that they left behind the microwave when they were trying to fix the television/streaming. It was cranked up to max volume and someone was talking on it. Neither of us were able to go back to sleep and when we went downstairs to go to our morning meeting we took the walkie talkie to the front desk. Clearly they were confused but no real apology at all. So - once again a Marriott property has some issues. We are thinking it's time to cut ties with Marriott despite our rewards status with them. Something has really, really changed at Marriott properties the past year.
