This place deserves a much higher rating! I came into this restaurant knowing nothing about it at all. It is darling inside. Very clean and decorated really well! Kids would love it, I know I did. Our server was very nice, and she was patient with me because I changed my mind about my order at the last minute, then asked for a few adjustments. She said that was just fine. No need to explain or apologize. When we got our food, I got a sub sandwich, it was perfect. Warm and it tasted great! No lettuce, just as requested. My friends got spaghetti (great!) and a huge salad( I was jealous!) and we all had a great meal. You can miss this little jewel of a spot if you don't know where to look: right between Food Lion and Goodwill in Hudson. It's a great place to eat!! read more

This was our first time dining in and it was a great experience. Our waitress was new, but super sweet. I'm assuming one of the managers/owners/ or something was there eating with her family because she was able to help our waitress with questions. It just felt like a family environment. They love kids which is great because I have a toddler. The food is excellent whether you eat there or take out. I've had pizza, wings, and most recently the fettuccini Alfredo... yes, I know that's not real Italian, but I'm pregnant and it's what I wanted. It was a great creamy sauce. read more

Just moved to the area and wanted to support local business and I love Italian food. I was pleasantly surprised with the grilled chicken Alfredo and I'll definitely be back for more! As for constructive feedback, one of my favorites dishes is Bruschetta, so when I saw it on the menu I was very excited. Unfortunately it tasted more like a tomato flatbread or pizza. I would love to see a more authentic Bruschetta of toasted bread with basil, garlic, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Also the side salads only gave us one piece of tomato and one slice of cucumber. Otherwise, look forward to trying other dishes in the menu. read more

First I noticed the not so great reviews are from 5 plus years ago. This family takes much pride in their business and would love for you to give them a try. Mario, the owner has the best Alfredo sauce I've ever had. Unlike most Alfredo sauces that break apart when reheating, his is even more delicious the second day. We have eaten there at least 2-3 times a month since starting several years ago and the food is always amazing and portions are large. Just like everywhere else, they have taken a hit with Covid on their waitstaff. We have always sown grace with our servers at every restaurant since then. Those girls are all precious if you take a few minutes of time to build relationship instead of complaining they will give you the service you deserve. We have saw several displays of abuse to the waitstaff in the past so sow a little grace. We always enjoy our food and fellowship at Romas and have been able to build a great relationship with Mario and his wife Ashley. Our favorite is shrimp and chicken Cordanilli. We do leave the shrimp out. (Just a personal preference). But again the Alfredo sauce is second to none. I can say we have never left disappointed in our meal. Give them a chance and get to know the whole Roma staff. They are a colorful and friendly family. They also give to the community behind the scenes in ways that are never saw by most. read more

Wanted to try a new restaurant in the area and decided to try Roma. First impression of the restaurant located in a strip mall where they had three crosses and a Christian saying painted on their front window was not very inviting to say the least, but still thought I'd still give them a try. Upon arrival, my guest and I stood in line at the front counter and was later asked if we were eating in. I nodded that we were. I was told to sit anywhere. The place appeared clean and had a nice set up. However the loud Christian music was nauseating....pretty clear of what kind of patrons they are trying to attract. Sat down and noticed there was one other occupied table. After 10 minutes of no service nor was the server in sight, I saw another couple walk in and sat down and the server immediately appeared out of no where and took their drink order and later their food order. Mindful, my guest and I still had not received menus or been asked of our drink order. After a few more minutes of waiting I decided to leave. What a joke of a restaurant and pathetic service......do yourself a favor and go somewhere else like we did. This isn't a restaurant....it's a religious hangout. read more

We've had several meals from Roma and I've never had anything that wasn't delicious! My favorite is the Eggplant Parmesan. It's a very generous portion and I usually get 2-3 meals from it. It comes with a side salad and bread. Always hot and delicious. Other dishes we've tried are their chicken wings and Shrimp Alfredo. Always hot and delicious! Highly recommend!!! read more

Well I got to play my least favorite sandwich game today...find the meat! Ordered they're lunch special for $6.99 which is sandwich, fries and a drink. Girl was very nice on the phone and said the Italian had ham, pepperoni and American cheese. That should have been warning enough. As a true Italian also has salami, cappacuolo, and provolone and sometimes prosciutto. Second warning should have hit me when I walked in to an empty place at lunch time. Anyway went up to counter to pay and it was $8.25???Asked about the lunch special and girl said the chips were 75 cents more even though she didn't mention that in the phone. Told her I wanted fries in that case and she said sorry it was already made. Which is where the 1 instead of zero stars comes from. Food was ready quick! Sandwich was horrible! Chunky lettuce out of a bag, four slivers of red onion, two pieces of the worst ham ever on each side topped by a row of pepperoni and three awkwardly clunky tomato wedges? Probably also used in their salads. Chips were average at best. For another $1 I could have gotten the best sandwich and chips ever at granite falls brewery! read more

This place is more of a carry out pizza place with amazing specials and good pizza. They have a dining area but most people carry out. This place is not artisan, certainly not gourmet but it is good pizza if you like to support local places instead of the big guys. I really enjoy the large pizza and 20 wing carry out! Like I said, decent pizza and wings... If you're looking for great pizza, keep driving to Lenoir and go to Piccolos. read more

I rarely post negative reviews but in this case I feel it's absolutely necessary. Twice they have left food out of our to go orders and then this evening we had to wait about 40 minutes for our take out and then no apology. I called the manager, who lied and said she had apologized for the wait, and then to beat it all, they let all of the soup we ordered dump out everywhere in the bag, which made most of it inedible. The part that made me the angriest was that I merely called to make them aware of the issue, and Ashley was extremely rude to me - to the point she pawned me off on some poor girl that works for her and wouldn't even continue the conversation. Unfortunately, no matter how good their food is, we will not be back and I encourage you to not support a business such as this. read more

I eat at Roma's pizza at least once per month. The pizza is pretty good. The sandwiches are really good, especially with pub chips. Ff you dine in, they will often times give you puffy bread with sauce. Kids love the puffy bread. The spaghetti with or without meatballs is also really good. I believe the ownership changed a few months ago. The food is a little better with the change, but only marginally. It was already good. I would recommend giving them a try. Local food is usually a better experience. read more

Not impressed at all from the time that I called in to make my pickup order I was greeted by this lady who made me feel like she did not care about my service and that she had better things to do. Not to mention being put on hold for over 20 min. When I finally arrived to pick up my order I come to find maybe one person sitting in the restaurant while two other employees were on there cell phones. which led me to wonder about why I was put on a 20 min hold time. on the upside the food was ok but not worth the 20 dollers that was charged if I could give any advice the owner please either hire a new staff or please retrain in customer service because I believe this would greatly improve your restaurant read more

Hadn't been to Roma in a good while. Upon walking in the door, we were greeted with smiles and welcomed. They politely asked if we were dining-in and allowed us to choose our seat. The menu, while slightly hard to navigate; is HUGE. Sometimes it's important to keep a more simple menu so that the customer isn't thrown off but I feel their menu is just right for serving a variety of tastes. For a place that calls itself Italian, the menu says so much more. Our server, while I was unable to get her name; was phenomenal! A super sweet older lady (possibly the owner?) always kept our drinks full and carried nice conversation. She was polite with giving us time to look over everything and decide on our meal. We ordered an appetizer of mozzarella sticks and they were very hot, fresh, and delicious. We each ordered calzones for the main course and they were amazing! Got a small and could not even finish it. They are massive. The atmosphere was inviting and cozy. While the theme suits better for a home-cooking kitchen, the theme works. You can tell the owners are from a Christian family and aren't afraid to show that in their place of business. Whether this be your cup of tea or not, it doesn't take away from how great the meal is. For the price, it was a very fulfilling meal and the customer service was awesome. I highly recommend a visit here if you're looking for some good eats in a mini little Italy. read more

Ordered takeout. They gave me a pick up time and missed it by 15 minutes (late). My order was wrong. Size of the takeout salad that I, and another person that also ordered, received was less than 1/2 cup each in the container. Well, where can I start? We arrived at about 11:45-12:00 on a very pretty Sunday morning. We walked in and sat down just inside the door. There was no waiting to be seated. After a short wait, someone brought menus and took a drink order. Those were delivered and our food order was taken. Here is where the problem starts....... We waited for close to an hour and a half for our food. Several people had arrived a considerable amount of time after us and had eaten and left 15 minutes before our food arrived. We asked our waitress and were told there was a party of 35 ahead of us and that was the delay. That party had finished eating and were paying before our food came out. I would say their food wasn't our holdup. Hudson is a small town and there are not many options if you want to eat there. I know it can be better. I have eaten here many times and it wasn't like this. There was only an apology in passing about the delay. No offer to help ease our frustration. You see, we were there with my father in law who has a handicap and can't walk good. Moving to a different restaurant is way more of a chore than it would be for others. My food was fine when we got it, but time is a very valuable commodity and mine was wasted today. read more
