After we got seated, they completely forgot about us took them about 10 minutes to come and even offer us water then it took another 10 minutes before they brought our drinks and asked for our order. We ask if we could order the advertisement on the door and they said yes so that's what we did about 10 minutes later they come out and tell us that we can't order that that it's for the lunch menu, but the door does not say it's lunch menu only. They rolled their eyes at us and then they sent somebody else over to our table to try and save the sale, but by then they were so rude. We just said, forget it and got up and walked out. I have been to this restaurant multiple times since moving to Harrison. I have been with small groups and large groups. Initially, they were accommodating and friendly, willing to make adaptations to menu items to suit taste, like not putting cheese atop certain items. They were compliant initially. Now, the last couple times I have gone they completely refuse, citing the owner, Leo, as the reason they will not make changes. Such a simple thing to do that they just refuse. This is an example of a restaurant refusing simple accommodation to appease a repeat customer. I do not recommend this restaurant. read more

I'd say our wait was average and the Staff didn't let anything get cold...served piping hot, a bright but deep yummy Marinara sauce with loads of cheese and the best Stromboli I've ever had. The dough was light and fluffy and you actually get to taste the stuffings, not get full on the bread. I think it was 4 meats. My husband got the pasta sampler and it too was delicious. We stopped at the restaurant on our travels, and I am so glad we did! The food was delicious, and our waiter was fantastic! He was very attentive and so friendly. He came here from Sicily, Italy and if I remember correctly, the menu is all family recipes. We had their lunch lasagna and chicken pomodore and they were very good, as was the bread knots. Today we chose to order take out. Our food was meticulously packaged from the marinara individually wrapped to contain spills to the paper plates to eat our feast. The bread knots are pillowy garlic clouds dipped in homemade marinara! Heavenly. The chicken Alfredo never disappoints. The calzone and Stromboli made with their signature pizza dough is devine. The house salad with the house dressing is the perfect way to begin the meal. The house dressing is a mix of marinara and French dressing. It's reminiscent of Ott's back in the day. I ordered a pretty simple chicken dish. The spinach tasted freezer burnt. It was also not fresh spinach, but cooked frozen and chopped. This is not how this dish is prepare. There was no flavor, no garlic, the sauce was like runny paste with a lemon, the pasta was mush. This is family ran business, usually you see them there. There were no family members there tonight. I was so disappointed. With what I saw and tasted tonight, it will be hard for me to ever eat there again. Quality has gone to poo. I didn't finish my meal tonight. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. Visiting my mother in Harrison, she had never eaten at Roma and we were looking for some good Italian food. We certainly didn't find it at Roma. Shrimp appetizer was some sad looking shrimp on a large plate with a little sauce over it. My Chicken Fettucine Alfredo was just god-awful with prepackaged chicken strips and some kind of runny sauce that had absolutely no flavor. Mom got spaghetti and meatballs which was a plate of pasta with some sauce and 2 huge meatballs on top that she said didn't taste good. Your average Italian restaurant with good menu diversity. Very friendly staff that is knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients. Comfortable setting with tables and booths to dine at. I did not see any counter service area, but didn't expect one as Roma is not a diner. Very efficient service. We arrived during dinner hour and we're promptly seated. The menu is extensive, maybe too much. I needed additional time to read through the menu. Garlic knots were presented after ordering - they were hot and fantastic. We both ordered a chicken dish, and were pleasently surprised that the dishes were skillfully prepared. Someone knows what they are doing in the kitchen. Portions are large, be prepared to take some home. Don't fill up on the garlic knots (they are REALLY good) like I did as I was full and did not order dessert. Tried two items so far, chicken parm and chicken Romano. I love Romano cheese but not in this dush. Go for the Parmesan chicken it was better. The sauce is good but he could add more spice or slower cooked, it was off a little bit. The roll with garlic and butter is good. The salad was good but no blue cheese crumble available and some slight Wilt of lettuce leaves and canned sliced black olives, missing something. Small things really because the wind selection is too flight and the service is amazing. The family is there, kids included. We read the reviews before coming here and thought this place would have been great. We were very wrong. Save your money. We spent over $70 and could have got the same exact meals from TV dinners in the freezer section at Walmart. Even the salad tasted like the cheapest bag salad you can find. The best part of the meal was the bread and after a very quick search, I'm fairly confident that it was the "Marketside Savory Garlic Knots" from Walmart. Roma's food was delicious and the staff was eager to please, which was important to us after traveling for five hours and looking for a decent place to eat. I ordered Chicken Siciliano and was given a huge platter with a chicken breast bigger than my hand that was deliciously seasoned with Italian herbs, not dusted in flour or breaded (which is a good thing to me), and accompanied by giant capers, several tender artichoke quarters and mushrooms on top of a bed of spaghetti with a thick white wine and butter sauce. The sauce was my least favorite part of the dish, but all of the other flavors were what was important and they nailed it. Hubby had the Ravioli Plate (more like platter), which was three kinds of ravioli (meat, cheese and spinach) covered with marinara and melted cheese. He said it was delicious and I believe him, because he didn't leave any ravioli on his plate. There were a couple of misunderstandings. The description for the Ravioli Plate and the Viva Italiano were exact the same (right next to each other on the same page of the menu). The Viva Italiano is penne pasta with Italian Sausage, not ravioli. The other misunderstanding was the salad dressing. We assumed "house Italian" was a typical oil and vinegar based dressing, but what we received were cups of marinara sauce. Good thi no not wasn't poured directly on our salads! I'm not sure if that's really their house Italian, or if the waitress was new and grabbed the wrong thing or what, but we asked for oil and vinegar instead and all was good. The waitress was very apologetic for the misunderstandings, and our food was so good it outweighed the minor issues. read more
