Last night I hosted an engagement party for my daughter Sara and her fiancé Todd. It was incredible!!! The service was magnificent! Our maitreD Angela ran the party so smoothly. She was so attentive to me and all my guests and her wait staff was the best. We never had to ask for anything. When our glasses were almost empty we had another drink in front of us. The room was beautiful and spacious. The food was so delicious especially the chicken francese and bake clams. The tortellini Alfredo was the best I ever had. Lia, our banquet manager was so good she recommended the DJ and photo booth vendor and I am so glad I took her advice. They were the best! I had so many people compliment and rave about this party I can't stress that enough. I felt so good about choosing this place . I will definitely have another party there . Got married here 5/23/15. We had 85 guests and they all had a great time. It took a couple of conversations with one of their wedding planners (before the wedding) to get the service we wanted/expected, but once that was squared away, the party was great. We had the wedding package. It is a great value, tons of good food and the service was good. The Maitre D' was excellent. Only problem on the day of the wedding was that the bartender had a tip jar out and I asked for it to be taken down and gave her a huge tip (too big, but was trying to make a point). Good value, good food, planning can be a bit challenging if you do not have the right person, but well worth it. read more

This place is fantastic. It has an intimate feel that I love and makes it perfect for family or business parties. The food is fantastic from their buffet menu to their sit down dinner it never disappoints. They don't over charge you and the entire staff is very inviting from the moment you walk in the door. Iv had countless parties and events here from my birthday to my parents anniversay to a work luncheon and they have an appropriate space to accommodate many different kind of parties. Was hoping to book a celebration event at Roma View after having attended and enjoyed several events there throughout the years. Well, 10+ months post Superstorm Sandy and the outside of Roma View STILL resembles an abandoned building. Dead tree's and landcaping surround the dirty exterior. The parking / valet lot is an absolute nightmare and overall the exterior the appearance is just horrible. Whats worse and honestly shocking is that the inside of the establishment itself looks like it's been left to die a long slow painful death. When we went for our consult we were literally sticking to the floors. The wallpaper was peeling in the hallway and the upstairs room we were shown was a dark, dank old dusty relic from the 90's. The granite tiles which would have also doubled as a dance area were cracked right down the center of the room. The downstairs room, while "freshly redone" post Sandy had an old drop ceiling, old cracked tile floor and one small window with security bars clearly visible....the chairs had what appeared to be gold paint flaking off of them. We were shocked. We drove down the road and were thrilled to find that for LESS money per person we could get MORE food (full cockatil hour , open bar with formal sit down dinner, cake and Venitian display) for a full 5 hours, on the date we wanted, at the time we wanted at Vetro by Russo's. How Roma can charge what they are charging for the product they're offering is beyond us. The difference is like night and day. Save your money and time. Roma View needs to revamp, redecorate and reconsider thier pricing strategy or they'll be going out of business sooner than later. read more

Okay i don't know where to start.. Of course its been a tough year for a lot of People in this really bad economy... so when it was time to look for a place for my first baby shower i didn't want to be cheap nor go over budget. Everyone at Roma view is really professional and accommodating. The decor is simple, clean and updated. The food was freaking Delicious didn't taste like typical catering food (frozen food). Everyone who attending the shower raved about the food. For center pieces I had nick the balloon guy (who has been doing business with this catering hall for years)-he did these really cute pacifiers shaped balloons (something different). To be honest 100% honest i don't like to decorate with balloons FOR ANY OCCASION.....i really wanted flowers arrangements as centerpieces but since my shower was the weekend of valentines-everyone was overcharging for flowers and i had a budget....last minute my husband convinced me to go with balloons ($20 per table)...at the end of the day it all came together the blue and white pacifier balloons-gave the "EMPRESS" room an 'AIR' of simple elegance to the room lol... HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place for your next event. Call them up- and check out their affordable prices... PS. We had our party in the Empress room-in the lower room--its not quiet a "basement" is more like a half floor...Either way its really spacious and the normal height- ceilings (we had 60 guests). It has a door that leads to the front of the street which helped when it was time to bring out all the gifts to the car. read more

This location was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious. We were seated in the larger of the rooms, which was beautifully decorated, elegant table decor and not to mention the view! We had a beautiful large window that faced the bay...excellent for picture taking.Not to mention the kids loved watching the boats passing by every now and then. Awesome!!! This is one of South Queens best catering Halls. Roma Views Service is excellant and extremely Professional. I ask alot of questions and the patients that they showed was wounderful. They trested me like they knew me for years. The server learned my name from the beginning and treated me like I was the KING. The food was amazing and the freshness was unreal. SO TASTY!!!! The only word that comes to mind is TERRIFIC. Not only did the server bust his back but the captain was all over our table making sure that things were going smoothly. If they would allow me to give more stars this would be a 10 star catering hall. They treat you like family. Great job! read more

I recently attended my company's Christmas party at this catering hall. A small disclaimer before I begin. I still work part-time for catering company's as a bartender so i know good catering when I see it. As soon as you arrive there is valet parking, eh not a huge fan of that but ok. The decor was nice and the staff was friendly and attentive. The DJ was decent playing music videos on a screen. Here comes the kicker . I am Italian and I can cook better than most Italian restaurants that I have been to. Fact. This place had some damn good food though. Ok, granted I was wasted and my judgement might have been a little skewed but the food was damn tasty. Trust me, it is hard to cook and keep pasta aldente for 150 people and then throw it in a chaffing dish. It was as close to aldente as your gonna get with those conditions. The bartenders actually knew how to make drinks which is always a plus at a catered event. All in all. I had a good time and I got wasted obviously at an open bar Xmas party. The food was all Italian and very respectable for a catered event. I am feeling generous because it is that time of year so four stars! Whopee! read more

My wife and I had our daughter's baptism brunch at Roma View. We needed a venue that could host over 100 people comfortably that was convenient to the location of the church. After meeting with Eric we felt at ease and booked Roma View. Their service was great from start to finish. We were impressed with the vendors they referred us to and also their follow up. They were never pushy with payment and were always quick to get back to us when we had questions. The staff went above and beyond to cater to our party. On the day of we had a great maitre'd and captain in Rob and Anthony. The waiters and support staff were on the ball the whole time. All of our guests, which included a lot of hard people to please, were raving about the food. I highly recommend Roma View for any party you may be having. They have great food, service, clean rooms and the price is extremely reasonable. read more

I just had my engagement party at Roma View and it was amazing! I wanted to keep my party small so I had the smallest room downstairs for my 60 guests. The decor was beautiful and classy in the newly renovated room. The staff was very friendly and professional. They helped me with things I had asked for like an extra table for a photo booth station I had made and wanted for my props. They were a great help with everything and worked quickly. My fiancé and I got the ultimate buffet package and the food was displayed very nicely. It was white glove service which was very nice for my guests. The food tasted excellent and many people raved about the baked clams. We also had an open bar and a great bar tender making drinks and serving our friends and I shots. We had a blast ! Our Maitre'D didn't help us out much. He was kind and professional, but could have done more for my guests to help run everything a bit more smoothly. However, all in all, Roma view was a spectacular place to have my engagement party. I highly recommend for your next event! read more

My family and friends have had many parties at Roma View and have always spoken very highly of it, however, last Saturday was the first time I have been there. I could not have been more pleased. From the moment we walked in, and everything in between, it was top notch. I have been to MANY weddings at various catering halls, country clubs, mansions, in NY, Long Island, etc. and this place can keep up with any of them, maybe even better. I have worked at a local country club and know the ins and outs of running parties, and I have to say, Roma View is A plus.. The staff couldn't be more courteous, helpful, resourceful and just outright pleasant. The food was outstanding and plenty of it. The Viennese hour had a great variety of items, all, shamefully, that I tasted and were really fresh and delicious. Maria, it was a pleasure meeting you. I Keap coming back because ther is no other catering hall that beats it!! Angela has always ran my parties and always ran so smoothly. I never had to ask for a drink because it was always was refilled. She makes sure that the party runs smoothly. I had my daughter's Christening party and her communion party and my 2 boys communion parties at Roma View and have recommended Roma View to all my family and friends and they have never been disappointed. We had our engagement party at Roma View on Friday and all I can say is WOW! At the time we booked our event, we dealt with Eric and he was amazing. He worked with us on every need we had, making it all happen for us without an ounce of stress. The day of our party, I was beyond nervous that upon arrival I had to set up and put things in place. As soon as I stepped in the room, I was taken back at how amazing and in place everything already was. EXACTLY how I wanted and then some. As for Angela, our mait're de - there are no words! She was so attentive to our every need and made so much happen for us to make the night perfect. Rob, our captain, worked hand in hand with her and we are so grateful for his constant attention! Our guests raved about the food and how much of it there was - I could not agree more! The staff was on top of everything and with a group of heavy drinkers, the drinks were flowing all night long. I have had many occasions at Roma View and they have always WONDERFUL! From the ambiance to the food to the service. The food is consistently delicious, the surroundings are beautiful and more importantly, the entire staff not only serves their clients but ensures that you have an unforgettable event. Where do I begin about this place, I had my daughter's christening there this past Saturday and I had never been to a place that was spot on with the food and the treatment they give you. When you go to most catering halls you are treated like just another couple but the minute you walk into this place you are welcomed and feel instantly like family. Maria and her staff are wonderful. Our matrie'd Angela was amazing,she knew i was going to be greeting our guests all night and made sure that I had plates of food for myself to eat and anything I needed she had arranged for me and my guests. The staff service was excellent, its hard to go to parties where the staff was on point and everyone had a drink at all times. The Food was AMAZING, the coconut shrimp is to die for! I wish this was a restaurant so that I can go back and eat the food, instead I have to wait for another party to go! This place is top notch, I wish i could rate it a 10 on here but it doesnt allow me soo 5 stars +++++++!!! Def check it out for any party you and invite me!! read more

The WORST service by a Maitre'D ever!!!!! Carmela, who supposedly has 19+ years of experience was RUDE, abrupt and downright discourteous to my vendors and guests. Thanks to her, Roma View will never get my business again! The only reason I gave one star is because the food was good. I was disappointed that I had to do ALL the follow-up leading to my event and think of the details on my own. Dealing with Carmela was just the final straw which proved that Roma View lack professionalism. They can never be compared to Russo's, Ritz or Hyatt. Next time I will stick with the more professional service. The day of the event there was noone available to answer questions and NO follow-up after! I was lucky to have a great DJ who helped make it all a fun decent in spite of the rudeness and unprofessionalism! Go to Roma View if you have low standards and like hearing no or dealing with tired and cranky Maitre'Ds! Our surprise was almost ruined because she opened the wrong door!!!!!! read more

We just had our daughter's Sweet 16 (October 26th) at Roma View and I cannot say enough great things about this venue and the people who work there. First of all, we had the Rhapsodie Room and the decor was gorgeous!! Our party planner Eric was a delight to work with. He was always accessible to us and handled every detail with absolute professionalism. Our captains for the event, Angela and Frank took great pride in their work and saw to our every need with genuine smiles on their faces. They made my entire night extremely easy and treated us like royalty. There was no request too big or too small that they did not fulfill. The entire staff was extremely attentive to all our guests. The food was wonderful and was displayed artfully. The Viennese presentation was an event in itself. We booked the house DJ, Music Flex, and could not have asked for anything better. Mike the DJ and Chris the MC had everyone up and dancing the entire evening - even a 90 and 92 year old were on the dance floor. Music Flex deserves o 5 star review of their own!! Along with Music Flex, we also booked their photographer Janine and videographer (I forgot his name). They were fantastic!! During and after the party, my husband and I received rave reviews from family and friends. Our daughter herself said that is wasn't at all what she hoped for - it was so much more. Coming from a 16 year old that in itself warrants 5 stars for this venue. I highly recommend Roma View for any event or occasion!! read more

My sister recently went to this place for a party. After the party was over, she discovered that her car had been significantly damaged by a member of the valet staff. Despite a valet staff member admitting to causing the damage, the restaurant and the valet company refused to reimburse my sister for the repairs needed. The restaurant owner insisted that any payment owed to my sister was entirely the valet companies responsibility. (The valet company is an authorized agent of teh restaurant so that's probably false.) The problem was, the valet company had very cheap insurance with a high deductible and the valet company did not want to pay out of pocket. The car was not driveable so, after a week of going back and forth between the restaurant manager and the valet company with there being no resolution, my sister had no choice but to make a claim on her own insurance and pay a $1,000 deductible. We asked for the restaurant to at least reimburse my sister for the deductible. They refused. They handled the entire situation very unprofessionally and showed a real lack of business sense. I would think twice about using this place for a party as your guests may end up having very sour memories of your event if anything unforeseen occurs. read more
