The venue? Gorgeous... The location? Not the most convenient to get to, but the views are spectacular... The food? Delicious... So why only 3 stars? Well despite attending a beautiful wedding here, our group had SEVERAL issues with the staff. First of all, it's called cocktail hour. Not cocktail 45 minutes. Not to mention they raced to put away the food before guests had a chance to get their final plates. Also, I don't think I've ever attended a cocktail hour where I was told "no" by one of the servers when asking for more than one item (seriously, they had chicken and lamb skewers, I asked for one of each and was told no). The bartenders were messing up drinks left and right, and the waiters (while friendly) made some errors as well. Our whole table was never served cake, and I think this is the first wedding I've ever attended where I actively needed to flag someone down to get a cup of coffee. I cannot thank Jeff and the team at liberty warehouse enough, I am so grateful I had my wedding there! The guests were raving about how amazing the food was, how beautiful the venue is and how it was the best wedding they have ever been to! Jeff was so great to work with, he made our experience leading up to the wedding stress free and he was so accommodating. His team was also amazing day of, they were there within seconds for any of my needs. When a torrential downpour started minutes into our outdoor ceremony, the team was so quick to respond. Without hesitation, they immediately went into cocktail hour indoors and everyone was ready to go. When the rain cleared, all seats were dried and we were able to have the amazing outdoor ceremony I always dreamed of, and even better the second time around with an amazing backdrop that liberty warehouse has and the most beautiful sunset. The space itself is so amazing, outside from the beautiful view, the inside gives you the opportunity to create any vision you want. Every wedding they do looks so different and I was able to make my dreams a reality with this space. We even utilized both the upstairs and downstairs to do a dinner in one room and a party in another, both spaces were so unique and beautiful! The bridal suite was also an amazing place to get ready day of, there was so much room and Jeff had coffee, champagne, water refilled all day for us, it was so much fun getting ready there! When going from Long Island to Brooklyn on a Friday during rush hour, the destination better be worth it. Lucky for us the Liberty Warehouse wedding we attended surpassed all of our expectations and even made the 3 hour traffic-ridden drive seem bearable. Cocktail hour was out on the patio overlooking the downtown NYC skyline and the Green Lady herself. We were greeted with cocktails and delicious small plates before heading in for dinner. The courses during dinner were exquisite, each better than the last. The scallop dish and short ribs were incredible. We danced, chatted and let the cool Brooklyn vibe carry us into the wee hours of the night until we had to make the trek back east. This review is as a vendor who worked here for a wedding. I worked as a photographer at this venue and my gear was moved by a staff member and my camera was dropped. My gear was already in the corner where we were told to place our gear so there was absolutely no need to move our gear. Or if it really needed to be moved they could have asked me to move and I would have gladly moved it. But no, when I came to the corner to get something I see my camera on the floor and my flash trigger was broken from the drop. I spoke with management and was given the runaround. Was told they would check the security cameras and get back to me. I called multiple times after the event and was always told "we are going to look at the footage and let you know " I never got a call back and has now been over 2 months since the event and have not gotten any type of follow up. read more

I remember the cold, wintery day that we came to Liberty Warehouse after visiting about five or six places looking for the perfect place for Mackenzie and Ian to get married. We walked around the outside of the building and then walked into that incredible room. We immediately knew this was it. We could instantly imagine a perfect wedding with Mackenzie and Ian getting married in front of the Statue of Liberty as the sun went down. We pictured our friends in tuxes and cool dresses raving about us having the best food and great music and the most beautiful venue and the most beautiful bride. We imagined them writing us after, saying that it was the most gorgeous, spectacular wedding that they had ever been to...that it had the best view and phenomenal food...And guess what...it all came true...everything came true. Where to begin? I never thought of myself as a big wedding guy, but I can't help but think just how perfect and effortless our wedding at Liberty Warehouse was. Top 3 reasons: 1. Food 2. Staff 3. Space I can't say enough about the food. I had a number of guests in the food industry and I really wanted to impress them. Every one of them could not say enough about the food. Some went as far as to say it was the best food they ever had at a wedding. I would have to agree. The nicest touch was for the main course. We had an amazing smoked salmon as well as a perfectly cooked steak. The catch was you didn't have to choose. You had two entrees! The appetizers were simply out of this world. Another aspect that my guests loved were the open bar and cocktails served prior to the ceremony. Let's just say the guests were feeling real good by the time the ceremony started. Staff: Jeff and his staff run a tight ship but are flexible to your every demand. One of my groomsmen own a restaurant specializing in finger foods. He brought 300 of them and they served it up as appetizers free of charge. Fried them according to his instructions. The bartenders were quick and kept the drinks moving. I was able to get a keg of my favorite six point brew served. The drinks were top shelf including goose, macallan 12, etc... They didn't deny anybody from taking shots. In fact they encouraged it! Take that, wedding nazis! They made us feel truly like royalty. Space. Look at the pictures. The place is perfect. Tall ceilings. Space for up to 400 guests. Outdoor and upstairs space for your ceremony. Beautiful exposed red brick and open fireplaces. Views of the statue of Liberty. Unbelievable. Technical details: We had a Saturday wedding (mark up from Friday or Sunday) We had a winter wedding on February 14th (Every Saturday from March to September was already booked 8 months out) over Presidents Day Weekend so the rate was roughly $250 a guest (after service fee and gratuities). The warm season is likely going to cost more There was a guest minimum of 175 You find your own DJ (recommend Mike Cardamone), lighting person (this is a must), florist (also provides lighting, we recommend Mimosa) and photobooth staff. They can provide the cake or you can bring your own. They didn't have an ice cream wedding cake option, but let us bring our own Coldstone Ice cream cake! Jeff was more than gracious. Words alone cannot describe how perfect this place is for a wedding. Now, we were "just" the guests, but judging by the GLOWING reviews here from brides and grooms, this place does seem to go out of its way to make your and your guests' day a once-in-a-lifetime memorable experience!! BEAUTIFUL setting, comfortable, accommodating location, and service was truly second to none. My cousin's son and his bride couldn't have picked a better spot in the NYC area to celebrate their special day!! Pre-and post ceremony cocktail hours were wonderful, the indoor ceremony (crazy May weather, better idea...) the food, the attentive/non-intrusive service were all PERFECT!! The servers and staff here are some of the best I have seen at any event. Valet parking was a breeze. Top notch!! Nothing was left to chance, up to and including the restrooms full of all the "incidentals" you might have forgotten to bring. MANY MANY months of planning and attention to every last detail led to an event that flowed as smooth as silk. INCREDIBLE That's one word to describe our wedding at The Liberty Warehouse. We really wanted an all inclusive venue so we wouldn't have to worry about hiring a caterer, tables, cutlery etc. Also Valet and coat check are all included! This venue provided AMAZING FOOD, top shelf alcohol, tables, cutlery, and an amazing staff. We choose to get married on a Friday in March, which is an out of season month. We also decided to have chicken and fish instead of beef or lamb to cut cost. They worked with us to make this venue a bit less expensive than it would have been had we gotten married in the summer or fall. We loved this venue so much so a Friday in March with Chicken and fish was great for us! I will explain why below :-) OUR EVENT COORDINATOR- We booked this venue a little over a year in advance. Pam Rosenbaum was our event coordinator and she was incredible patient, always available, supportive, professional, and basically made sure our day was executed perfectly. If you decide to do a visit you should absolutely ASK TO WORK WITH PAM. She is a PRO, and Sooooo nice and always so available and on top of everything from the minute you sign to your wedding day. I honesty have love for this women. You become pretty vulnerable during this process and she basically held our hands and got us through. THE FOOD- I am a huge FOODIE and the Liberty Warehouse offers the option to have a FOUR Course Tasting menu.( At no extra charge!) But before that...Cocktail hour! Our guests are still raving about the cocktail hour food. We had about 10 different passed Hors D' Oeuvres PLUS carving stations! We were able to save a little by doing seafood and chicken for the dinner menu. So our carving stations included grilled skirt steak, Sliders, etc. Everyone RAVED about this food! THE SPACE-If you haven't seen the space, you should take a look at the website and social media pages. It's a very rustic elegant space. We hired Pegasus Productions for our fairy lights down the center of the main space. We also hired them to supply audio for the ceremony and the Reception. Liberty Warehouse works with Pegasus often so we felt more comfortable working with them. Those fairy lights turned the space into a fairy tale wedding reception. They REALLY make the space so so so so so beautiful!! We were debating on weather or not to do those lights or the string lights...then one day I took my mom to see the venue and the fairy lights were set up for another wedding and we were SOLD. VALET- Valet and coat check are all included!! OUTSIDE- We got married in March so it was still a bit chilly outside, however we were able to take photos outside and the views of the river and the statue of liberty were beautiful! The SERVICE- at Liberty Warehouse was impeccable! Wine was flowing around all of the tables all night. The wait staff was on top of everything ALL night. No one ever waited for anything. Let's face it - 2016 was a pretty shitty year. But sometimes, you just have to look back at happier times in order to look forward to the future. That brings me to the Liberty Warehouse. Flashback: The year was 2012, when I was Yelp baby, but had the privilege of attending Summerfest (which to this date, is still the single best Yelp event I've ever been to). The venue was amazing - watching the sun set over the Statue of Liberty is one of those things you never stop appreciating. Flash forward: 2016 is coming to an end, and one glimmer of hope was the announcement that my new company was hosting our holiday party at the Liberty Warehouse. Swanky. The place was as wonderful as I remembered. Two floors with multiple bars set up. Ample room for 500+ some odd people to mingle, dance, and eat so many lamb chops. Sure, it was one of the coldest days of the year, so hanging around by the water was only for the nicotine-addicted, but from inside the big glass windows, you could see the Statue of Liberty and World Trade Center just fine. Special kudos to the catering. We had multiple food stations set up with all sorts of cuisine. There was a taco/margarita station, pasta and meatballs, burger/chicken sliders, meat and cheese, and the waitstaff was walking around with all sorts of hors d'oeuvres, the best of which was a caviar topped cracker with creme fraiche. Not ashamed to say I had three of those. And yes, I know the venue is a bit pricey (I've known multiple people go into shock when looking to book this place for weddings). And sure, it's a little out of the way (but that's what Uber is for, right?). But you really can't beat the experience you get here. And you can't really put a price on that. Well, you can. But I suggest not looking at the price tag. So anyway, let's raise a glass to many more happy memories. And to Review #2200. read more

She met with us regularly to help with our planning and was very responsive to questions as they came up. She also helped us think through the evening and came up with great suggestions that made the night unique and fun. On the day of the wedding everything was taken care of and went off without a hitch. From the moment we arrived, we (along with all of our guests!) were treated like kings and queens. What a unique and picturesque spot to hold an event! We were here the other evening for the Yelp Summerfest event and were pretty much awed by Liberty Warehouse. First of all, the space is huge and is located on Pier 41 in the historic shipping yards of Red Hook, Brooklyn. The building was constructed in the 1850's and has recently been renovated into an amazing event space. There are two levels with multiple rooms, and both with panoramic views of the harbor and the Statue of Liberty. It's such a dramatic visual when the sun sets with the Statue in the foreground. A large balcony drapes the whole first level and offers a terrific perch for picture taking and hanging out. What is even more wonderful about the space is the large 3,000 square foot waterside patio. This was an amazing space to party on surrounded by the New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty while the sun was setting. It could not get more perfect. There is even a working wood burning fireplace in all event rooms, not to mention large and clean bathrooms to use. This could not have been a more better choice for such a big event as Summerfest with the large amount of people who attended along with the many vendors and even a few food trucks that were parked on the patio. Even the security staff on hand acted professional and considerate. Fun facts are that MTV's Real World Brooklyn chose this location as the home base for the cast and it was also used as the setting for a bar scene in the 2005 Will Smith film, Hitch. I can picture all types of events taking place here including weddings. Amazing spot. read more

I attended an amazing wedding here this past weekend. I have nothing but positive things to say about this place. The views are spectacular. The ceremony was outdoors along the water and against a beautiful sunset. As the name suggests, you face the Statue of Liberty. As the party moved indoors, I was struck by the decor. Interior brick, dark wood, tea lights- absolutely beautiful! All of the food was amazing. There was a cheese and charcuterie station, pass arounds, and even a steak carving station. A full sit-down dinner included a frisee and poached pear salad, a seafood dish, and then a delicious lamb entree. After the wedding cake they also brought around milk and cookies. We had our wedding here in June. All the reviews are true; the space is incredible inside and out, the food is perfection, and your friends and family will not stop talking about it. Can't ask for more of a breathtaking view of the water, the freedom tower, lady liberty and the ferry buzzing back and forth. I wouldn't change a thing! The staff day of were very attentive and professional. I personally however had a challenging experience with the point of contact throughout the planning process. We just had our wedding ceremony and reception at the The Liberty Warehouse on November 6, 2015. My husband and I can't say enough great things about this venue! From the moment we pulled up to the warehouse while we were comparing venues, we knew this was the only place we could imagine getting married. The entire wedding planning process, from start to finish, was a dream because of the incomparable professionalism and sheer warmth of the Liberty Warehouse staff. My husband and I got married at Liberty Warehouse 9/1/18 and it was absolutely everything we could have wanted. Not only was the event amazing, but the entire experience planning with the staff at Liberty Warehouse was so positive that I can't recommend this venue enough. We booked our wedding 17 months out (mostly because of availability at the venue) because as soon as we saw the space and met Jeff, we fell in love and even though we visited a few other spots, we kept going back to Liberty Warehouse. Jeff and his team were so responsive from the beginning and really knew how to ease the (very normal!) anxieties that arise during the months preceding a wedding. He was flexible and helpful, guided us in our decisions when we asked for guidance but also kept his opinions to himself when that was warranted. We had the most wonderful, beautiful, and "us" wedding I could have ever imagined! And, absolutely, a very large part of this was due to the top-notch quality of everything at the Liberty Warehouse-- unmatchable views, wedding food so good it's painful to call it wedding food, and service so outstanding people actively notice it. (An anecdote: My friend found out she had to go on a no fat diet to prepare for gall bladder surgery. Without any prior notice, the staff at the Liberty Warehouse was able to not only accommodate her needs perfectly, but make her feel special. At the end of the meal, my friend requested skim milk with her coffee and the staff delivered an entire silver tea service! Unreal! The service cannot be beat!) That being said, I have to just comment on one thing. It's a tiny, minor thing, and really, it didn't at all affect my wedding day- but Jeff, the catering director, can be a little short at times. There were times when we'd ask Jeff questions and the tone of his response would leave us feeling like we wished we hadn't asked. It was almost as if he was insulted by us questioning anything. He's a pro, there is no doubt, and he WILL give you a gorgeous event, but I do enjoy a bit of friendly coddling while I'm coordinating the biggest event of my life. But that's just Jeff I guess. He's not a bad a guy. He's a true professional and when the time to deliver came, I was happy, relaxed, and able to trust that Jeff was in control. His staff is the best I have ever experienced and we were told by several guests that the service and the food were also the best THEY'VE ever experienced. I cannot imagine a better wedding venue. Choosing the Liberty Warehouse was the best wedding-related decision we made. I wish I could just do relive it over and over and over. read more

Not a fan of Jeffrey Torem's. Others here have indicated he's got bad communication, and I agree. If you are willing to pay an arm and a leg (and good for you if you are), then he's probably terrific at spending your money. If you look to economize in any way at all, he gets bitchy fast. read more

I'll try to keep this as short and to the point as possible, but understand that it might not be easy. My wife and I had our wedding at Liberty Warehouse in July 2015 and are still in absolute awe of the job that Jeff and his team did. The night itself was top notch. Our guests are still talking about the food, the presentation and the service. Jeff knows what he is doing and has put a well-oiled machine in place to execute his vision. However, what left the biggest impression on my wife and I was how Jeff and his team handled the planning process. Mind you, we opted for a continuous cocktail hour-style event, something we had never experienced as guests at another wedding. We were nervous and a little uncertain. We had a ton of questions about the "run of show" and the menu. We were probably in contact with Jeff or someone on his team weekly in the two months leading up to the event. Through all of that they were always responsive, accommodating and flexible when needed. My wife and I planned the entire wedding ourselves - a huge undertaking. Jeff made everything very easy for us. He was incredibly generous to us. He treated us like we were his family, as corny as that may sound. From the first site visit to the day after the wedding, the team was always available to us. He hosted my family for an amazing tasting (and quite a few drinks!) and kept his doors open for multiple site visits when I had family in town who wanted to check out the venue before the big day. If you want something different and the space fits into what you're looking to do, don't hesitate for a second or second guess the job that Jeff and team will do to make it all come together. My son's wedding was celebrated at Liberty Warehouse in scenic Red Hook May 5, 2012, and it was an extraordinary event. How cool is this -- Cinco de Mayo in the shadow of the Statue of Liberty. We have received "rave reviews" about the place, the food, and everything about it. First, the setting - the view of the Statue of Liberty makes it all worthwhile and it's really on the water. Just watch some of the tall ships - or tug boats. You feel like you are in a different and wonderful adventure. The building is just "edgy" enough to be fascinating and yet still beautiful. The long bar is a beautiful detail - people just loved being at it. The weather was just cool enough to light the fireplaces (there are several), which really adds to the ambience. The acoustics on the main floor are spectacular for piano and singing (a gifted soprano). Second, the staff - Luke V is the best in management you could ask for - he is attentive to detail, helpful and just one of the nicest individuals you could hope to work with in putting an event together. Third, the food - it is the River Café - it is absolutely the best (and I mean fabulous potatoes, exquisite sea bass and a cake that is not only beautiful but tastes good). The wait staff was like a well- practiced drill team and executed with incredible precision. The Director of Catering was on site for the event - everyone makes sure that everything you want or need is attended to - it was really pretty unbelievable. The waiters, the parking valets, and all the attendants are perfectly trained, and it shows. Several of our guests have gluten allergies that they dealt with it perfectly, without a problem. We were going to have the cocktail hour outside, but when it clouded over, they simply moved everything in - no difficulty. There was not one thing that we would have changed - except maybe have more kids so we could have another wedding there! The neighborhood is edgy , the food top rated, the service impeccable and the views world class. Two weeks ago my hubbie and I got married at the Liberty Warehouse. We fell immediately in love with the space when we first saw it, and as our guests said, it is truly special. It didn't hurt that we got a gorgeous sunset and mild late-May weather, but the venue would be just as beautiful if you held an entire event indoors. It is large enough to host a 200+ person wedding with the ceremony, reception, cocktail hour indoors in separate areas. If the weather works for you--do the ceremony and cocktail hour outside, but the impact of the setting will shine either way. Like all brides wonder, the food is actually delicious. The menu is more creative and customizable than other venues we looked at. You will get the opportunity to dress up, and try the food during a wedding--in a private area that overlooks that awesome view. It was a fab night...and an experience that got us really excited for the big day! More importantly, the level of service and professionalism at Liberty Warehouse is truly fantastic. Jeff was a pleasure to work with and very helpful when it came to bringing the entire wedding together and organizing the big day. He has years of experience in this biz--take advantage of it. The Liberty Warehouse has got to be one of the most beautiful venues in the city of New York. Our guests (and my husband and I) were so pleased with how it looked the day of our wedding. It is an absolute sight to see - with the water swishing about on 2 sides of the venue and Ms Lady Liberty looking straight down at you. During the day, its the amazing views that do it. During nighttime, its the lighting that is simply amazing. The reception space becomes such a warm, romantic space. We couldn't have asked for more. It would be remiss of me to not mention how amazing the staff was during the day. Everything ran like clockwork, and no one was ever in need of anything since there was always someone from the staff ready to attend. My husband and I especially got 5 star treatment. We always had someone shadowing us quietly just in case we needed anything. During the planning process, Jeff and his team were helpful in working with our needs. I wasn't sure how things were going to actually turn out which was a little nerve wrecking, but in the end I didn't have anything to worry about. Though its not the most affordable venue, its worth the money - as you will not be disappointed by the pure beauty and high quality of service which is what you deserve on your big day. I first saw the view from the deck of the Liberty Warehouse during the evening of the freak snowstorm in October of 2011. My wife and I were looking at venues for our wedding, and this was our first stop. Despite many other venues we looked at, this was the first and only place we really wanted. The venue speaks for itself. The exposed wood, brick, and incredible views of the statue of liberty(the only front view in Brooklyn) and Manhattan are awe inspiring for even the most local New Yorker. For a Brooklyn wedding venue, I don't think you can possibly beat it. When we met with Jeff(the venue manager), he laid out how we could use the space, and what we could expect from the staff on our wedding day. He understood our individual vision, and improved upon it with his own recommendations. Jeff has a strong sense for how a reception should flow, and he was completely receptive to our needs on the day of our wedding. What is important, I think, is to be realistic about the venue. The huge space really is perfect for 125 people, or more. The venue isn't going to be cheap, but that's because it's an incredible space, with unbeatable views, and a top notch staff. The reason I say this is because on our wedding day we had zero concerns. Between the maître d', Jeff, and the staff of the Liberty Warehouse, they handled everything without skipping a beat. The staff was flexible with the dietary needs of guests, our departure plan(it involved moving guests to the exit), and all the small things you never think of(ie packing everything up to take home). Our friends and family still talk about the food and the views. When we had our tasting, we were invited to the venue and were served as if we were guests at a wedding. We did not try the food on our menu, but the food that was being served at an event that was going on. It made no difference, because the food was delicious and the presentation was great. Our various vendors had no problems setting up, and coach buses can easily park in the lot at the end of the pier. Be sure to have you vendors speak with Jeff beforehand to avoid any awkward discussions leading up to the event day. Stay on top of how things are expected to go, stay in touch w/ Jeff, and this is a fantastic place to celebrate the rest of forever. read more

The Liberty Warehouse is the perfect venue, combining AMAZING food, the friendliest and most attentive staff, 2 uber cool floors of industrial-chic reception space that can easily accommodate a large event(we had 225 guests), and gorgeous outdoor space with stunningly beautiful views of the Statue of Liberty and the NYC skyline. But perhaps the greatest of all its considerable attributes is the privilege to work with the two consummate professionals who manage the events...Jeff Torem and Andrea Olaya. We worked closely with Andrea from start to finish over 1.5 years of planning and felt no need whatsoever to engage the services of a wedding planner. She's THAT GOOD! Her advice and recommendations were always spot on and her demeanor is so pleasant AND confidence inspiring. Having our wedding at the Liberty Warehouse was the best decision we made when wedding planning. I can't emphasize enough how much Jeffrey and the Liberty Warehouse team made planning stress free. They handled everything. Someone needs a special meal? Ok! Table count change at the last minute? No problem! Also, as you have probably read, the food is amazing. Despite of course wanting to speak to all of our guests, the steak was too good to miss. Jeffrey is a master of the special touches -- when we walked out of our ceremony, there were two glasses of champagne. I could go on.
