Beautifully decorated restaurant with traditional and ornate serving pieces that adds to the enjoyment of your meal. Everything was presented elegantly and the food was full of flavour. Great middle eastern food! Our server was lovely and answered all of our questions about the menu. Worth the drive to Mississauga!

Roman Zaman has been such an incredible place to have breakfast and lunch when you have a spontaneous decision to go out for food. Each time I have gone the food has been incredible. Although a very busy place, someone is always at the door to greet and seat you somewhere. The staff are direct and quick to get your order which is actually really nice because you avoid those fake conversations that occur because they want tips. The staff here are ready and polite when they get your order and provide you with it in efficient time, which I loved a lot to be honest! The ambiance is actually flexible so to speak. Many people do come here dressed super casual, but even if you were to dress up you wouldn't be "out of touch." You would still fit in. The ambience is catered to both fancy and casual. So do wear what you choose, it gives off a fancy and classy vibe simultaneously. This place is in a plaza so there is ample parking but there is limited parking directly in front of the store.

Came here with some friends for a quick lunch. My friends both ordered the shawarmas and I ordered the sausage and egg Fokharat. I enjoyed the sausage, however the overall dish had no flavour and was very oily. The shawarma was also a bit dry. The servers took a long time getting our order and getting our food. I really enjoyed the interior and ambiance. I would come here for a snack or share a grilled platter.

Very cute Syrian style restaurant with authentic decor and a fountain in the center. The food was excellent (we ordered mixed kebabs, shawarma, meat saj, arayes, tabouli, fattoush, and hummus) and especially loved the fresh mint lemonade! Service was great as well. For dessert, we got the kanafeh (which is made fresh and takes 15-25 minutes depending on size, so try to order in advance). Unfortunately, they were out of the pistachio ice cream which is the only thing that would have made this visit even better.

I won't comment on their food because I've been here several times to eat and the quality of their food constantly changes. However, just last week I went to try their kanafeh and tea (my mom had their Turkish coffee too. At $8 the kanafeh is definitely Overpriced especially considering I live near Dearborn in Michigan where I never pay more than $3.50 for a slice of kanafeh larger than this. I will however say that because these kanafeh are personal sizes and always come out piping hot and fresh, I loved every bite of this. Not to mention the cheese was in perfect proportion and was delicious. I also thought the tea at $5 was a little overpriced but they provide enough for at least 2-3 small glass cups so we shared two of them in a group of 4.

Service was great 10/10! Food was great, we were starving so we ordered quite a lot. Portions were huge and so good. The inside feels a bit dated.

Been trying to come to this place for some time now, and finally had the chance to try it yesterday. The only good thing I found about this restaurant is the interior decorations and the presentation. Which is unfortunate because it's really nice from the inside, and the food presented nicely. Although i'm so against serving water in little metal glasses, you can so get a metal taste in the water. When I asked for a regular glass, i got some big bulky Mason Jar to drink from, which I couldn't do that neither! Since this was my first time and I like to try new items, I ordered a-lot of appetizers with the anticipation of them all being GREAT, but that wasn't the case. For someone who doesn't know middle-eastern food or doesn't come from that region, i'm sure it's perfect. But for someone's home cuisine, this was missing flavour, spices, texture and everything.. I ordered the following apps: 1) hummus with beef: hummus is below average, beef is cold beef shawarma cut (not fresh, not juicy) 1/5 2) Sausage, they only give like small 5 or 6 pieces, they were cold, no molasses in them, no flavour, just whole lot of flavourless spice! 0/5 3) chicken liver: 0/5 4) chicken wings: 0/5 5) tabouleh Salad: 2/5 6) Gargir Salad: 5/5 For dinner I order the chicken scallop, which might be so many other things but certainly NOT a scallop, this is not how scallops are made in a perfect world. The breading was bad, no crumbs, seems like they only use eggs and flour, presentation wasn't invited at all, it tasted more like fish & chips! As for desert, I ordered Kunafa hoping that this would save the day, because A real good kunafa is rare to find, and they said their's was the best. I honestly had one bite of my kunafa, and STOPPED! Probably the worst thing I've had in quite some time. Service was on the border line of 'okay-ish & bad'! The experience didn't go as expected unfortunately, and the food taste was probably the worst i've had in this category of cuisines. I will not return

Most Authentic Middle Easter restaurant In greater Toronto area. Syrian cuisine (Aleppo), came twice, once for dinner and other time for breakfast. Food is fresh , well seasoned and tastes very good, same for desert. Tried the kebba mix , fattah Shawarma, manakeesh, beans and falafel. Had kunafa and tea, it was very good. Excellent service as well. Great Decor. Agree with prior comments about need to change the water theme being served in metal containers as it throws the taste.

Quality is very important and this restaurant keeps a great quality of service and products. Serving portions are big and for some, u might be unable to finish the whole portion. It's a recommended sport especially for Halal food seekers

When we had first walked-in, we were surprised to see how small the restaurant was. However, we then noticed that most of the guests were doing take-out as opposed to dine-in. We were able to find a table for four, which was perfect for us. When we walked-up to the front counter to place our order, we were greeted by a kind hostess, whom took our orders without any issue. We then sat down, and watched as our orders were being prepared. We had to wait about fifteen minutes for all of our meals to be ready. We were surprised to see that the margarita pizza had olives on it, despite not seeing it on the menu. However, we just scooped them off since my children didn't want to eat the olives. For the falafel and kabab wraps, we were surprised to see how large they were, and for only $10.00! The kabab wrap (which I had asked for without onions), had two large pieces of kabab, which filled the wrap, along with the sumac and tomatoes. I enjoyed how tasty the wrap tasted, along with how filling it was. My mother also commented on how delicious the falafel tasted. Considering the prices that we had paid, we certainly go our money's worth! The service was also excellent, as we were brought our wraps directly to our table, while the pizza was placed on the table near to our table. Everyone was kind and considerate, making our stay a pleasant one. There were so many menu items to choose from, it was hard to narrow it down. Will definitely be back to try other items the next time around!

I like the 4 in 1 which allows you to sample different toppings at once. It's become my most preferred. The bread is doughy but depending on the option(s) picked, it may fall apart. Service is good. They pump out orders rapidly even when busy. Rarely do they miss ingredients, but rectify those errors. I've dined in more than take out. For a small establishment, it seems to be doing well. Draws in crowds at times. Food is prepped in front of you. Area is clean. Toppings are generous, as are the staff. The washroom is also clean and adjacent to the checkout counter.

It was decorated beautifully, with chic artwork and beautiful music playing on the speaker. We had made reservations in advance however, we then realized that reservations weren't necessary, as the restaurant only had guests at 2-3 tables at that time. We were greeted by a server, whom then brought us to the table that was reserved for us. Upon first being seated, we noticed that this particular server wasn't too friendly; she would complete her duties as required however, she seemed bothered, and didn't seem to be enthused to be serving us. Nonetheless, after placing our orders, we then waited patiently for the food to arrive. We had first settled on the calamari fritti, which were, too overcooked. They were much more crunchier than they should have been, tasting only somewhat more appetizing when dipped in the accompanying sauce. For our main dishes, I had settled on the veal masala with a mushroom sauce, with a side of vegetables and one potato (which I found a bit odd). The veal was tender, however, there was hardly any of it, along with the potatoes, which consisted of, only one potato. The vegetables were plentiful though, which was what filled me up. My mother had settled on the chicken, which one again, had one potato, and too much cream sauce. The pasta that my daughter ordered had a lot of meat in the sauce however, the meat was salty, and the pasta didn't have enough salt on it. Considering the price that we had paid, we were expecting a better array of food alas, we were disappointed. We even asked if complimentary bread was given, with the waitress looking confused. Overall, this restaurant had a great vibe to it however, we didn't find the server to be inviting, along with the food, which wasn't too appetizing. We wouldn't come back to this restaurant, and would reconsider our options for the next time.

In…read morefact, I was only here as we did a search for Italian when I was in the area and saw that it had fairly strong reviews. It's not really a trendy place, with the decor and the menu that could easy fit into 2005 seamlessly - but that's not a bad thing. When we came, they had an anniversary special for $39 which came with an appetizer, a main and a dessert. Both my wife and I opted for it. For appetizers, we chose: a beet salad and a crab cake. For entrees, my wife went with arctic char with roasted potato and veggies. I went with butternut squash ravioli. And for dessert we both got creme brulee. The quality of the ingredients and the food preparation really stood out. My wife absolutely loved her fish and said it was the best she's had in awhile. The sauce from my ravioli was so good that I took the remainder home. We were very happy with the service throughout. It all comes down to execution. If you were to read the menu, it looks pleasant enough, but it might not jump out you either. But I can say that if they're consistent, you will really enjoy your meal and probably have your expectations exceeded.

Please take my review into consideration knowing that I haven't been there in at least 15 years…read more That said, I feel like I owe this restaurant a review because it was such a big part of my life and holds so many wonderful memories for me. When I moved to Canada in 1995, this restaurant was within walking distance of my sister's apartment, so we ate there all the time. Back then, if I remember correctly, they had a buffet for around $15 per person, and it was an incredible value. The food was always fresh, delicious, and plentiful. This restaurant became part of many chapters of my life. When I got married, I brought my husband and his family there because I wanted them to experience the food I loved so much. Later, when I had my children, it became one of the places we would visit whenever we were in Mississauga. At one point, we even lived in Mississauga for about a year and a half, and if we couldn't make it to the restaurant, we would order takeout instead. The amazing thing was that the food was just as delicious at home as it was in the restaurant. The restaurant itself wasn't huge or fancy. It was simple, comfortable, and focused on what mattered most--the food. The staff were always welcoming, and everything seemed to run smoothly. To this day, the lentil soup and the kibbeh are stuck in my head. I honestly think they were some of the best I've ever had in my life. Sadly, I can't enjoy the kibbeh anymore because I have celiac disease and have to avoid gluten, but those flavors are still some of my favorite food memories. I also remember that the mother of the family was involved in the cooking. Whether she is still there, retired, or if the ownership has changed, I honestly don't know. Because it has been so many years since my last visit, I can't speak to how the restaurant is today. What I can say is that the memories I have of this place are wonderful. The food was excellent, the service was great, and it became one of those special restaurants that stayed with me throughout the years. The next time I'm in Mississauga, I plan to stop by and see if the food is still as amazing as I remember. If it is, I know I'll be leaving with a huge smile and a full heart.

Worst experience ever! The "manager" rang up our order (one wrap and one mixed plate on the rocks)…read moreand the price for the mixed plate did not match the board. We asked him and he told us that the prices have changed. We asked if he could honor the price on the board as the wrap came up the same but the mixed plate was not even put in as a mixed plate, he had put it in as a chicken plate on the rocks and added the beef, so naturally there was an extra charge. He said that's just the way it is, and it's only a $2 difference. When we asked him for a feedback number, he told us we were being rude for asking about the price difference when it was so minimal and then claimed that there was no beef so we should just take the chicken or leave as he had other customers to attend to and didn't want to serve us anymore. Quite frankly I was scared about what he would do to our food at this point anyways. There were other customers in the line who were wondering what had happened and asked us, he told us not to talk to them. He told us we were free to contact their head office but wouldn't give us his name, or the owner's name or the complaint line. Just said, "you have a phone, go online and figure it out". Then told us that we were free to leave a review online on yelp. Completely unacceptable behaviour to treat customers so poorly and try to flip on us telling us we were the ones being rude for asking him to honour the item and price listed on their board. Will never go there again. Contacted their customer service via online form, no one has reached out and it's been 2 weeks now. Went to Osmosis and got much better treatment and food!
