The crust on the pastel de natas here are flaky and crisp, which is what I initially expected. The custard is smooth and not too sweet. They run 1.60 euros/piece. There's table service, fast counter, and original counter. Table service had a line on a weekday afternoon, but the other two options did not. The original counter is more aesthetic, whereas the fast counter is literally like a plain storefront.

Shout out to the staff for being quick and efficient at filling the tables and helping people locate their ideal spots. There is plenty of seating both inside the building and outside. The restaurant walls are adorned with beautifully designed blue tiles which adds to the warming and communal theme. Now to start, the pastel de nata here is pretty amazing. First, you have the multiple layers and crunchy, crispy texture from the buttery crust. Then you have the delicately whipped sweet custard which practically melts in your mouth. What takes this to the next level is adding a punch of cinnamon on top, which gives it a punch of warmth and is satisfying on the palate. To mention the mango milkshake, it was ok but I would call out that it didn't have much sweetness to it as I assume the mangos used were not fully ripe. That would be the one piece of feedback but otherwise, it tastes very bright and refreshing which is perfect for a hot Lisbon day. For a future time I want to try the sandwiches as these also seem to be a hit and are recommended by a lot of people! This place is definitely worth the hype and I'm glad I was able to stop by!

That is exactly the "good" problem Landeau has as besides their famous chocolate cake, all they have are beverages, inadvertently making their sign outside with the proclamation "When in doubt, try chocolate cake!" kind of hilarious. Once you've huffed and puffed your way up one of Lisbon's stairmaster hills, the darkened and vintage feeling interior of this particular Landeau feels very welcome. Although there is ample seating for the size of this store, the ample line of people waiting to get in from the outside might make getting a seat difficult nonetheless. I do like the regular lattes here but let's face it, any beverage you get here is really meant to be a sidekick to the main star of the show, Landeau's famous chocolate cake. And it is indeed, the best slice of chocolate cake you'll ever have, and that is not hyperbole. Layered and textured, but pillowy and light, it's really difficult to describe what a beautiful heavenly experience eating a chocolate cake at Landeau is. It's like treating your mouth to the most sumptuous and comforting experience it's ever going to have when eating something and you never want to end. And for under 5 euros, it almost feels like a steal. I really do consider going to a Landeau one of the highlights of my trip to Lisbon and urge everyone to put it on their must eats here. Even yes, over the egg tarts.

Despite the crowd, the service moved surprisingly fast and the whole experience felt well organized. You pay based on cone size rather than by the scoop, which means you can load up on flavors without the guilt of counting portions. I went with pistachio, mango and blueberry cheesecake, and the combination worked beautifully. What really sets Amorino apart is the presentation, the staff shape the gelato into a stunning flower design that almost feels too pretty to eat. I also grabbed a Nutella crepe which was every bit as good as it sounds. Beyond the gelato there are plenty of options to explore including their famous macarons, so it is worth taking a moment to browse before you order. If you are walking through the Baixa area, this is an easy and very rewarding detour.

I frequent the one in the ROD so it was not a shock when I dragged my friends in. It's the exact playbook as the one in Houston. You get in line, place your order and then choose your flavours. I went with my good ole faithful waffle with two scoops (hazelnut chocolate and salted caramel) of gelato and topped it off with hazelnut drizzle. The total was about $6.40 which is way cheaper than it is in the states. It was just as delicious and very much worth it. It's easy to find in you're in the Baixa area of Lisboa. Just follow the path.
