Well this was my fav place to go for pizza but today I got charged for something where I wasn't charged previously, so I guess they are off my list and I will go to my other two spots, which would be my 3rd and 4th favs. I usually order the same thing, a small Romanos Deluxe, WITHOUT Hamburg. Usually it is not a problem, but I have had instances there the receipt said NO Hamburg, yet it had Hamburg - I lived with it but the taste is different. Last month I ordered my usual and she asked instead of Hamburg, would I like something else in place of it? I asked if there was an extra charge and that was a No, so yes, I would like black olives. No problem, pizza cost the same. Today, knowing that I could get olives vs. Hamburg, I ordered the same thing and asked for the substitution. Not a problem, but the cost was more than usual - and I noted that and he said that they price had gone up. When I got home, I can see that I was charged for the Olives (there was no hamburg, so they got that right). So this time I was charged. I dont want to have to keep asking whether I will get charged for that change. The Hamburg costs more than the Olives...I had been ordering the Deluxe w/o Hamburg for years and was thrilled I could get Olives instead. The price of the pizza, with this change, has gotten to be too high and I resent the fact that I have to pay more at times depending on who takes the order. So I will be getting my pizzas now from two diff place in Methuen, which is actually far closer than driving up into NH for a pizza. :-( read more

Ordered fish and chips dinner fish fries and onion rings...picked it up and they put the dinner in a PIZZA BOX!!!! Just threw it all in a pizza box! At least 20 packages of ketchup thrown on top of the food in a crappy pizza box ..quite the presentation..really 20.00 for this ? Wow! I can't believe I just went to this great pizza joint yesterday, like where the heck have I been lol. The service is on point and I thought it would take 20-30 min for two large pizza's but it was less than that. They have a lot of different pizza's but we ordered half cheese and half Florentine. Cheese- daughter loved it and said it was very cheesy and not a lot of red sauce which is always good for older people like myself who be getting heart burn from too much red sauce lol. I did try the cheese and it has a nice sweetish savory taste to the pizza sauce. Very yummy! Florentine- has ample chicken and spinach. My wife really enjoyed it as well everything went well together. I'll definitely be back again to try other pizza's and dessert. They have a nice selection of desserts. When I think of salads, the last place I would think of is Romanos. I was in the area, called it in 30 mins before I'd be there. What a surprise! I basically only ever get the 20" italian sub from Romano's, and I am never disappointed. This this is comically, ridiculously huge and I love it. Taste-wise, meats are good, veggies are good, I wish they had slightly better oil but overall, it's very satisfying. Price is a bit high at $17, but, you are essentially getting two subs, so it doesn't seem too bad. I've tried their pizza and thought it was good. I'm planning on getting a whole pie at some point. It's become a tradition of mine to always stop by here when I'm up in Salem, and I don't see that stopping anytime soon. read more

It's my second time having their pizza. It's a dive with a few seats and a good menu ranging pizza to sandwiches. We stopped by to take out and they were fast. Ordered and was out on the way home in 8 minutes. Had the chicken broccoli Alfredo pizza. Now my new favorite with their cheese steak pizza in a close second. read more

Pizza is thin crust and floppy like NY style and because Monday night, only 7.99 for a large cheese - they let us swap out Alfredo for the red sauce. We got the 20 inch steak and cheese... There is one female who works the counter and takes phone orders. She purposely is incompetent! She plays this game where I have to repeat my phone number, spelling of my first and last name etc... Decent food but they are so inconsistent. It's frustrating to order the same thing every time and inevitably get something different. I order a steak and cheese with hot pepper relish and mayo. 2 out of 5 times I will get it the proper way. Mayo and hots on the bread. Every other time I get banana peppers(totally different) or hots mixed in with the meat on the grill(makes the whole sandwich taste like hot vinegar and practically inedible). Always loved Romano's Pizza. Went here recently and my gf ordered a couple slices. Was looking forward to introducing her to the best pizza in the Merrimack valley, when the dude running the register separated her pizza with the hands that he had just used to take the money and make change with. I give the food an A+ for everything. Pizza is great but my favorite are the subs available. The size of the small is what most sub/ pizza shops sell as large. Their large subs are approximately 20 inches long and very high quality. Service is very fast with fresh food. They have a couple of tables to eat but the bulk of the business is take out. Out of al the pizza and sub shops in the local Salem area, Romano's is the most popular. THe place is always busy and has peopel coming and going in to take out. Like how they make the pizza right in front of you! Fun to watch while you wait. The owner, is a real fun personality adn a nice guy. He is always there and knows his customers adn runs a good business. I like the subs and pizza the most. I have not tried the calazone's or salads.
