He worked…read morefor us for about four months, and then we finally fired him and hired a new general contractor. We would not recommend Pat Schultz/Stonecliff homes to anyone. He was dishonest, immature, lazy, and did extremely poor work. The first major incident occurred when Pat had to replace a piece of rotted sub-floor in the kitchen with a new piece. I went over to the home to check on the work and noticed when I stepped on the new piece, it was very weak. Upon further observation, I noticed the new piece was not proper sub-floor. He used a piece of T1-11 plywood siding panel. In addition to it not being the right piece of wood, it was cut very poorly with large gaps around it when installed (pic attached). So, I contacted Pat about the issue. Several days went by and I never heard back from him. Finally, when I did hear back from him, he said he would take care of the issue. So, I went back to the home about two weeks later, and the issue was still not corrected. I then contacted our HUD consultant about the issue and he contacted Pat. After our HUD consultant contacted him, the correct piece of wood was installed. Due to the sub-floor issue, my wife and I contacted Pat and expressed our concerns over his lack of communication, lack of work supervision, and lack of progress updates. He replied back and apologized so we decided to give him another chance. However, his behavior of not communicating, not supervising work, and not giving progress updates continued. The next major incident occurred when the new kitchen and bathroom cabinets were installed. Instead of properly measuring and cutting the holes in the backing of the cabinets for the pipes to go through for the sinks, they were ripped and torn (pics attached). And things just continued to get worse. They installed a faulty toilet in the 1st floor bathroom that leaked on the new floor and damaged it. So, during the removal of the toilet to replace the damaged floor, they scuffed up and dirtied the brand new base trim that was installed (pic attached) and never cleaned or replaced it or communicated at all about what was going to be done to fix it. The final incident that made us decide to fire Pat Schultz/Stonecliff homes was when we found uncapped electrical wires in the master bathroom that were live and no one was there working. We immediately contacted Pat about the issue and told him it was a severe fire hazard-something a professional GC should know- and we told him to please ensure it did not happen again. He told us OK. But when we went to the home the very next day, we found more live uncapped electrical wires. So, we immediately fired him. After we notified our HUD consultant that we had fired Pat, the HUD consultant had to come out to do an inspection to assess what had been done properly. During the inspection, my wife and I found out there were several other things done wrong. The HUD consultant said that Pat should have gotten a smaller dumpster for the demolition phase of the work because instead, he got a large one that did not fit in the driveway, so he set it partially in our front lawn which caused heavy damage to the lawn (pic attached) and now that needs to be fixed. Also, the pipes connected to the sump pump were broken during the demolition of the back deck (pic attached) and that was never communicated to us either. Also, the 2nd floor guest bathroom had trim that was cut and installed incorrectly (pic attached). One of the new kitchen cabinets was assembled incorrectly and it was damaged--the backing was completely torn out (pics attached). Also, one of the new windows was installed incorrectly and does not close completely. Overall, Pat Schultz acted very unprofessionally about the very reasonable requests that we made to get the home fixed up properly. He never cared about the quality of work being done nor about the damage he and his workers caused. Nor did he care about us as the customers trying to properly fix up their first home and make it a quality place to live. He does not deserve your time or money!

Long story short, she was NOT helpful in any way - merely an order taker. I couldn't make heads or tail of their website - but I knew exactly what I wanted. I looked elsewhere for a vendor to no avail. Even if I had ordered with the online company, I would have had to install myself or find an installer. So I turned to Yelp . . . I have had MUCH success with Yelp finding excellent service and skilled providers. I entered the details of what I wanted and submitted the project for response. I got maybe 4 companies contacting me - one being Eric Call Contracting. This company asked to schedule some time to talk - and so we did. All the other responses merely asked if I HAD the deck covering as they just wanted to install it. None would entertain the idea of helping me source the deck cover. Eric and Angie showed up when they said they would and we began to talk. I explained what I wanted, showed the brochure from the home and garden show, showed them our deck - and they went to work. Eric tried to work with the awning company I had wanted to buy from - but he got nowhere despite being more persistent than me. Eric still understood what I wanted - a permanent frame that would attach to and extend up from the deck with canvas runners that we would open and pull shut and remove in the winter. We would also be able to replace the runners should they get damaged. Eric drew up a design and shared it with me - along with possible runners he found on Amazon. We had a lot of back and forth and they were great keeping in touch. I finally decided to go with them despite having no other bids for comparison. Clearly no one else wanted to do the work needed to get me the deck covering I wanted. I signed on the dotted line and cut a check to get the project started. Again, Eric and Angie did a great job of communicating with me and providing updates. Although working through Yelp does provide some financial protection, I was still nervous going with the first company I contacted. But they definitely earned my trust - the materials showed as promised. And work began as promised, and before I knew it, my vision of a deck covering had materialized! Our deck is on the back/south side of the house. There are no trees or shading so we fight to keep the house cool on sunny days. We had recently replaced a large, rust painted deck with a smaller light treated wood deck. Now with this covering, we are already enjoying not having to turn on the A/C as much, leaving the back door open for a breeze, and actually being able to sit on our deck when the sun is hot. We've also been able to pull the runners closed when a windy storm hit. And in the winter, I'll take the runners down to protect them and allow full sun in the cold temperatures. I cannot say enough about how I appreciated the work this company did. I highly recommend you contact them when you have a project.

They arranged for the trades to additional small changes beyond the project while those trades were in our house. We have a very difficult mid century modern house that we added a 1200 sq ft addition on to. It has many odd angles and attaching a new addition to a house that has settled for 80 years is a skill that these guys perfected. They installed all our huge windows and doors, which saved us a ton of money from having the window company do it. They installed them perfectly and at a great value.
