Stopped in with my wife for some 'new' stuff. Met Monica (manager) and she was SOOOO HELPFUL it was amazing. We ended up buying a couple toys/things and she took her time explaining all the nuances, showing my wife how things operated. UNFORTUNATELY Monica had to charge one of the 2 toys to get it to power up long enough to operate and in ringing us up and re-packaging stuff the charger wire was forgotten in the wall behind the counter. Let me first apologize to the owner and CEO of Romantic depot he reached out to me to make it right. When I went I was followed around the store at all times. To me as a person of color I assumed it was because of that reason and it clearly was not. It was over anxious commissioned sales people trying to get credit for a sale. That I get completely and now understand. After speaking with the management team they are going to do more training to prevent this type of appearance and take that down several notches. They then offered to compensate me for my trouble but that was not what I wanted at all. I just wanted to come here and spend a bunch of money on fun stuff with my lady. Truly these people are a class act and I will be back and buy a bunch of stuff maybe even this weekend. I should have known better than to believe anyone whose career consists of working in an adult sex shop, so I am the fool for believing that Romantic Depot would offer its customers integrity, honesty and fair prices, after all they advertise on my favorite radio station... Well I was DUPED!!!! I purchased a toy for my girl friend here, I thought the price was rather high $189.99 (marked as a sale price to add insult to injury) The saleswoman claimed it was priced so high because it was the top of the line of all the toys they sold and that it was of high quality. I was in a rush since my girls birthday was less than a week a way so I decided to buy it. I left the store and drove home, I noticed I didn't even receive a receipt for my purchase which made me even more suspicious. I went online and saw the IDENTICAL product with the same model number for as low as 29.99 at multiple locations as well as on Amazon! I called the Romantic Depot Store back and requested a refund explaining what I discovered. The Manager refused claiming that the items online were not the same quality and that the manufacturer makes two of the same style items but of different qualities, one item to be sold in stores, the other for Internet sales outlets! COME ON I fell for it once! There is truth to the adage "Buyer Beware!" STAY AWAY FROM ROMANTIC DEPOT and deal with a reputable company that will not literally screw you! STAY AWAY! STAY AWAY! This store is a complete rip-off. They intentionally don't provide you with a receipt (I thought that experience was just an inconvenient coincidence and see other customers experienced the same thing). Their mark-up, in my case, was 3x the average. It's America. Capitalism allows for this type of thing. And it also allows for freedom to choose where you spend your money. I would steer clear of this place. I happened to be on a phone call as I ended my transaction and mentioned to my friend I bought something similar to what she has. She was astonished by the price. I Google'd it for myself and found only $60 web listings for the product I just paid $180 for. I hadn't left the premises. I walked right back to the register. The justification was that they offer customer service unlike other adult stores. After an hour in the store begging for a refund or store credit, I was told the owner was called overseas (convenient) and refused my return, they did not know how to work the register for returns/credits and I was also accused of swapping out the product for a used one I possibly had stashed. Amongst other things. I was given the run around and refused accommodation, in other words. Never again! read more

I went to Romantic Depot to surprise my GF after we recently saw the movie, Fifty Shades of Grey. She hinted that she was willing to try some new creative ways to spice things up. So Im thinking, hmmm. lets take full advantage of this opportunity, Oh Yeahhhh!... lol So I've been to Romantic Depot before and I even had a 20% off card buried deep in my wallet. So, as I become a smarter Yelper I searched online and came across a pretty darn good Yelp Deal, Here's how it works, you pay $40 and you get $100 in merchandise, which is a big fat 60% discount! Anyway, as stated I have not been to Romantic Depot since maybe 2005, I used to buy some Adult DVDs years ago in my twenties, now  the store seems to have evolved and taken a more customer friendly approach. They have greatly expanded their lingerie, adult toys and novelties, massage oils, candles restraints etc while decreasing their DVDs section to make it more of a Couples, Adult Boutique like shopping experience. Romantic Depot even added a cool, Smoke Shop with hookahs, vaporizers, and all sorts of Glass Pipes and smoking paraphernalia if you enjoy that sort of thing. Attached is a photo of what I bought, minus some complimentary items Romantic Depot  gave me for free. Here is my list: a Beginners Bondage Restraint Kit, a Hookah, Wet Lubricants for couples. A tri-color Glass Pipe, a cool game Cards against Humanity, (btw which I could not find anywhere),  Fifty Shades of Grey Pleasure Balls, a Dreamgirl Sexy Lingerie Babydoll with Restraints, a Satin Love Mask and a Wax Vaporizer.  The customer service was excellent,  the female that helped me seemed clean cut  however,  the type of chic that you could talk to about anything sexually. My kinda gal, hehe One more thing to mention, they now have a cool demonstration station where they can show you how the toys work before making a purchase. As advertised the store seems to be very female, couples and guy friendly as I visited solo. Plus, Romantic Depot threw in some  free goodies like crotch-less panties, a  Pocket Rocket, a free Vibrating C - Ring and some free Lube! I came in looking for a specific item that was on the site online. When I asked the girl if they carried the item she let me know that the selection in the store varies from what is online. So call ahead to check. They just happened to have the exact item I was looking for. The girl working had lots of good things to say about the item and showed my boyfriend and I other variations of the item. We settled on a variation that had more options. It was a bit more pricey but it's been totally worth it. The DVD's are in a room in the back which is nice because you get the novelty of the store without the DVD's right there in your face to make you feel pervy. All in all it's a great store. I visited the West Nyack store two days ago with a few of my friends. The staff was very helpful and very knowledgeable! They had a huge selection, and it wasn't like the other adult stores with the gross movie booths. A few couples walked in while we were shopping. Nice, classy place.
