They are not open during hours that are for people who work 9-5- they close at 4pm most days. I took some jewelry to them for repair, they notified me that it was ready after a few days. I went to pick it up at 10am and they were closed, despite the voicemail message saying "they were open M-F 10am-5pm for the month of December." I cannot evaluate the quality of their work because I can't seem to get them when they are open. I mentioned that they were closed every time I went there, and they said "oh call us, we will meet you there!" Called them and no answer. read more

Took my wife here for a new bobble after our vacation in Clearwater Beach. Even though the store was small, they did have a good selection of product, including estate jewelry. The lady behind the counter was very cordial and accommodating. My wife settled on a silver estate ring, which came to close to $300 and the lady was nice enough to provide a 10% military discount. All in all, my wife loved the ring, but still seemed a bit overpriced for silver, but they need to make their overhead. If you have a chance, give them a look. read more

Went in to have a battery replaced in a very old white gold and diamond watch. The watch originally had been a wind up watch , but years ago had been modified to run on a battery. The owner/employee had given me an envelope to write my name, address, phone number,...etc...At the bottom there was a statement about things that they were not liable for that required my signature. After I read it, I asked her a few questions about the risk of not getting the same diamonds back as the ones that are in the watch now. She ripped the paper from my hands, stated she felt there was something wrong with me, raised her voice and said she wouldn't do business with me. Why would a business owner get so defensive by a customer asking a question? Has this been a problem with this company? Why did she fly off the handle when asked a simple question? I have purchased several items from Romantique. I was in the Antiques business doing shows throughout several states. I am older now - haven't done Shows since 2016 . I went to see if I could sell any pcs of my inventory. All was great for a few min. When the owner realized I had shown another jeweler my items her entire demeanor changed - no longer interested - nothing allowed to b shown. It's OK for her to make money but I guess it's a sin for me to try to get about 35 percent of my cost. Will never step foot in this store again. read more

I will not be going back to this place nor do I recommend it to anyone. I took my engagement ring there to have it sized. I specifically asked to have them check to make sure the stones were tightened. After waiting a week to get it back, normal turn around time I found that the main stone was loose (I could hear it rattle). When I went back the next day to tell them, I was told I would have to leave it there for another week! When I questioned the stones being lose the lady gave me attitude about it. Said, "Listen, you got the ring from a different manufacturer, you should be happy that I was willing to even size it for you!" I left the store...WITH my ring! read more

I went to this jeweler for two reasons. Last spring I bought a pair of earrings for which the owner, Kim, changed the fastener type upon my request. As a snowbird, when I got home to NY and put on the earrings, one of them fell apart where she had supposedly refashioned it. I took it in when we came back to Florida to ask her to fix the problem. She said I must have done something to loosen the fastener. I said I didn't. She said she would fix it. At the same time I was looking for a pearl pendant for my husband for Christmas; she began to help me with that and the next day when I came back to pick up the earrings and get assistance for my husband's present she began to get impatient and was actually rude to me several times. I persevered with my purchase for custom work that she was going to do but after giving her a deposit I mentioned that the experience was unpleasant and it needn't have been. She said she didn't want to deal with me and returned my money, saying I had an 'attitude.' I didn't have an attitude; I simply wanted to find the right gift for my husband. She was the one with the attitude and from several other reviews I have read I am not the only one to have had a bad experience at her store. She is the seller and I am a customer. The customer should be treated with all deference and patience. As it was I left upset and demeaned; I will not go back there. Neither should anyone who reads this review. read more

customer beware..... took my Seiko watch to this store, to have the battery replaced, and the woman there struggled with it for awhile and then returned it to me saying that she was not able to do it, for me to come back the next day for someone else to try. When I got home, I realized that the back of the watch was all scratched. I also had a Skagen watch which she immediately told me she could not service, that those watches are very hard to replace the battery. This woman also has very bad customer service attitude - needless to say, I will not be going back. read more

This jeweler/owner is incredibly talented with an constantly evolving selection of traditional, vintage, estate and costume jewelry. They've expanded their modern selection a lot and are really helpful when you are browsing or even looking for a very specific item. I've bought many pieces over the years from them and can't wait to see what they will have next! They are continuously busy, so if you want to run in and run out, its not likely to happen, especially if you are needing to speak to the owner. She's amazing, but not enough of her. read more
