The store is located on the same wharf that Pho Viet and Chopsticks Chinese buffet are located near Countryside Mall in Clearwater. The store front faces the retention pond. We were looking to get a ring resized. We were given several options. We initially opted for small gold beads welded inside the ring. Unfortunately, that didn't work in our case. Ben (owner) suggested that we do a complete resizing that cuts the ring and make the interior dimension smaller. It worked! Everyone in the stores was friendly and helpful. I went to see Paul in July for a gift for my wife's birthday. Not only did that have many suggestions they had a variety of pieces to choose from. This incredible business was recommended to me by neighbors 5 years ago and, ever since, I have had all my diamond rings worked on here. Not only are they incredibly trustworthy, but they go above and beyond to help the customer. In one instance, I had a ring missing 2 small diamonds; they replaced them (faster than the estimated time) and a few months later another small diamond fell out likely due to a crack inside the metal of the ring. Not knowing if it was even the same stone that had been replaced, at no charge, Paul replaced the stone AND fixed the crack inside the metal of the ring. WOW. After reading stellar reviews, I decided to visit Design One Jewelers to see if they could repair a favorite gold necklace belonging to my daughter. The owner - Paul I believe- was very helpful and accommodating. He assured me he could repair the necklace for a reasonable price. He didn't try to steer me into buying a new necklace, which I found refreshing! I was also interested in purchasing a pair of silver hoop earrings as a gift. They asked what my budget was & they stuck to that budget when providing alternative pieces. There was no pressure to spend more than that budget. On my second visit they fixed a set of earrings (purchased elsewhere a year ago). The earrings were unwearable because the backs were loose. Great locally owned jewelry business. They repaired my silver bracelet and changed my diamond studs to lever backs. They have a lot of estate pieces that are beautiful and well priced. They also have a beautiful large black Great Dane who unobtrusively sleeps in the corner. About May 2014, I stopped in with a gold ring I was interested in selling. The owner took a look in a little magnifier and offered $35. We had bought this ring from him maybe 15 years before for at least $200. Afterwards I showed it to another jeweler who deducted $300 from a piece I was buying from him as a trade-in. Design One Jewelers has my business! My engagement ring needed to have the prongs replaced due to 3 breaking off, one at a time, over the course of 6 months. I had them repaired by a different jeweler as they broke. That was not the answer. As a surprise to me, My husband went to Paul asking him to replace the setting. Paul did a great job, not only replacing the prongs that held my center diamond, but adding a few more diamonds to each side of the center diamond. In January of 2017 two rings were stolen from my home- my wedding ring and a special ring designed by my husband and I for an anniversary. I went to see Paul & Roz to design a new wedding ring with stones from old family jewelry. Roz took so much time listening to my story and understood the sentimentality around the design process.
