Went to support local Jeweler. Only needed my ring down sized. The quote $300. Seemed excessive then came The claims I needed prong work that was going to be $340 min. So I left. Went to another jeweler that said I could not downsize as much as needed because would affect integrity of diamonds on band. In addition, reported no loose diamonds requiring prong work. So, to be certain about what I was being told since such a conflict I went a 3rd place that said the same... can't downsize without affecting diamond integrity on band. (I needed downsized 1.5 for reference and 3 rows of diamonds on band). And also no loose diamonds requiring prong work. As much as I prefer to support local I will not support this jeweler ever as my trust is destroyed and do not recommend unless you want to be ripped off. Especially in regards to jewelry repair. read more

I got engaged earlier this year and my fiancé and I worked with Ashely Shepard to get a custom ring designed. I recently worked with Alexis to have my late father's wedding band resized for me to wear which came out very nice! I had another gold band with a greek engraving type design that had been cut off my mom in an emergency and Alexis quoted $350 to have this repaired. She also quoted me almost $150 to have a minor misshaped gold band reshaped with a long winded explanation of how it's done and the "risks" involved that I declined. I took these two rings to another reputable jeweler who fixed the bent ring in a matter of about 90 seconds for FREE. He also fixed the other band including the engraving design for $95. It looks beautiful! Alexis was very polite, professional and kind but I won't be going back for any jewelry purchases or repairs. Ridiculously overpriced! read more

We support local businesses. So when Husband asked for my engagement ring for a 40th anniversary surprise, I knew he'd take it to Les Olson Jewelers. What I did not know was that they wowed him with personal, professional and friendly service. They also promised the ring back in a week, which was plenty of time before our anniversary party. Three days after dropping it off, he took me to LOJ to get a larger clasp for my pearls, a gift from my grandmother. I am wearing them on our anniversary, since Grandmother cannot be with us. She passed away last year. Unfortunately, to get a new clasp for the pearls, they must be restrung - a pricey endeavor. I will probably do it later this year, when it's in the budget. Holly was understanding and sweet. Meanwhile, Husband asked about the anniversary surprise. To his delight, it was done. While I waited for Holly's expert appraisal of my pearls (I definitely need to get them restrung and give them to my niece when she gets older.), Husband got the ring from Jade and presented it to me. Everyone here is awesome. I initially visited Les Olson to have my now wifes engagement ring made. I had a diamond that had passed through the family and needed a band for it. My wife wears a 3.25 and they special ordered the band to fit. The didn't cut it down to size as other jewlers suggested. Fast forward to our wedding. I had my wedding band custom made from my fathers and my grandfathers rings. I could not have been happier with the finished product. Back to my wife once again with the small fingers. She found a band that she liked and we shopped around for it. Les Olson actually had the lowest price and made the ring for her instead of sizing a ring down. My advice for anyone looking for a great custom engagement ring experience - go to Les Olson! I chose Les Olson because my sister had a great experience having her ring made with them. It was beautiful, just what she wanted and at the right price. When we arrived for our first appointment (which was easily made on their website), we were greeted very warmly by Julie and she was able to help us and answer all of our questions. We didn't get any sales "pitches" and all the advice we were given was really good, honest advice, as if I was getting it from my aunt. She even loved the idea of using a family stone rather than trying to sell us something "nicer" or "new". We walked away from that appointment feeling very good about our choice. The process of making the family stone into a custom engagement ring was amazing! Julie cared for exactly what I wanted, gave me many options, showed me dozens and dozens of ring styles, setting options, etc. that I could TRY ON and see how they looked on my finger! She listened to everything I was looking for, understood me very well and we worked together to create exactly what I wanted (and she helped me FIGURE OUT exactly what I wanted!) Then Bob, one of the owners, created a 3D life-like rendering of the exact ring I wanted, and from there I was able to tweak (right then) little changes I now saw I wanted to make. The final product - just amazing! I literally don't think I could ask for anything better. It is exactly what I was going for and the experience of making it was really a pleasure with Les Olson. I had the ring made by a jeweler in St. Pete and was very unhappy with the finished product. I went to Les Olson for some guidance/suggestions, and we decided to scrap the original ring and start from scratch. Bob, Pam and the entire staff were very sympathetic with my situation and assured me that I would be 100% satisfied with the finished product. Very, very happy with Les Olson Jewelers. I saw a gold wedding band online that I loved, but it was the only one and the wrong size (it was on an estate sale site or something like that, so it was just a random find. Couldn't find anything close to it on all of the internet!). I took the picture to Bob and he designed one like it, with some modifications that made it even better. The price was very fair, and they even used some gold from jewelry my mother had passed on to me. It's so beautiful! The whole staff at the store is wonderful- so friendly and also very professional.
