The price for private transportation is close to what you would pay for a taxi or uber service which was impressive. Truly priceless at the end of the day for security and peace of mind. She answered all of my questions quickly and completely, and tailored our experience to what we wanted to see and do. My daughter and I booked a pick up from the cruise port of Civitavecchia and tour of Rome. Andrea was there to pick us up promptly and it felt like we had just reconnected with an old friend. He was very knowedgeable and personable. We were able to see all of the main attractions we wanted to see, and he utilized our time well, avoiding traffic. Andrea made reservations for us to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant where we sampled local food and wine. We were also able to go shopping for souvenirs and learn about the history of the area. We ot back to our cruise exhausted but happy from all we had seen and experienced. The following day, Andrea met us at the Naples port and we headed to Pompeii. He had arranged a private guided tour of Pompeii for us, which we thouroughly enjoyed. We then headed to Sorrento for lunch and shopping. It was a wonderful experience and I would definitely utilize their services again when we are able to return to Italy!

This tour was a great way to really see the highlights of Rome in a day. We met our guide in Rome and toured the Vatican, Basilica, Trevi Fountain, Colosseum and everything else promised, skipping the lines everywhere. All of this in addition to Gabriele taking us to a gem of a restaurant where we had the opportunity to eat the most delicious food and relax. We saw so many cool things in Rome, but we have to say our driver really made our day special. Gabriele was a gem-- kind, witty, so knowledgeable! He taught us some Italian and taught us so much! We made a friend in Italy! Thank you Gabriele, Antonella, and limousine Tours of Italy for this unforgettable experience!!!

They took us to all the places we wanted to see and provided us insight that only true Roman's could provide. We travelled with our elderly mother, who required a wheelchair. Both Sergio and Alessandra were very patient and conscientious with her, and us. Alessandra cleared paths for the wheelchair and took us to the easiest paths, avoiding all of the lines. She was so knowledgeable and provided us with the best Roman history lesson possible. We wish we could do it again tomorrow. Highly recommend this team for all.

Walking through the structure and surrounding grounds, I found myself imagining what it must have been like nearly 2,000 years ago. Thousands of spectators filling the stands, roaring crowds, and gladiators stepping into the arena knowing they were the main event. What fascinated me most was learning that the arena was even flooded for certain spectacles. It's incredible to think about the level of ambition and ingenuity involved in creating entertainment on that scale so long ago. I also enjoyed spending time exploring the areas around the Colosseum, which are beautiful in their own right and filled with layers of history. This isn't a place to rush through. Give yourself several hours, take your time, and let your imagination do some of the work. A must-see when visiting Rome and one of the most memorable historical sites I've ever experienced.

Even in the "off season," it was busy, which shows how high up the list it is for any visitor. Walking through the structure and looking down into the arena from above, I could really picture the energy of the crowds and the events that once took place there. The Colosseum is huge, up to 50,000 people once packed inside, and it was used for all sorts of public spectacles, not just gladiator fights. I'd recommend taking a guided tour if you can; it helps skip the ticket line and gives context that really adds to the experience. Also, make sure to explore the area around it--the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill are right next door and worth the time. If you're in Rome and even a little curious about history, the Colosseum is absolutely worth seeing. It really brings ancient Rome to life.
