He didn't get our tax return done when he said he would. Said he had a death in the family. Ok, I'm sympathetic to that. But when he finally got our return done weeks later, he made a big mistake that could've easily been avoided, which resulted in us owing $4k more in taxes, and then he had the gall to blame it on me. Considering the amount of time I spent making sure that he was working on our return and having to review it, I might as well have done it myself. The only silver lining was that his rate was low, but I also got what I paid for. (I did not provide you with two documents with conflicting info. One was a spreadsheet that I prepared that had my mortgage payments as part of my expenses. The other was the actual tax form from my lender with the mortgage interest amount which was the number that was supposed to be inputted. It was an oversight on your part. His professional excellence and patience helped me save thousands of dollars from mistakes in my past filings that should have been returned to me. If you are looking for a trustworthy and experienced accountant at a reasonable price to save you money, you do not have to look further! I sold my house in Arizona for a big loss back in 2014, and my former accountant made a mistake and did not get me a large sum of money that I'm entitled to, over $18,000 to be exact. During my filing for 2017 return with Mr. Li, he spotted the error and worked with me for long hours to sort out a pile of years of my past tax returns. To be honest it was a mess, but throughout the whole thing Mr. Li did not lose his patience one bit and really spent the time to analyze my situation and worked on how to amend the mistakes. Only with his detailed explanation during this tedious process did I start to see the complexity of the NOL (Net Operating Loss) that carries across multiple years and how the mistakes were made and affected me. Eventually he helped me file two amendments, one to the State of CA requesting a return of over $5,000 and another to Federal for over $13,000. So far, I have received the state return and am still waiting for the federal return.
