Location is great. However it fills quickly, and it seems you're out of luck if you enter and can't locate any parking. Ended up driving around for 20minutes with literally 0 open spots (and no one leaving). Other cars were circling, doing the same as me. Ended up deciding to leave, and was told that surely, there must be spots on B4. So I went back down to B4 (had already checked), and of course, no spots. Went back up and was told I had to keep looking (not sure it makes sense to keep staring at full parking spots all day), or pay as if I had parked. There needs to be a better system to alert the attendant that the lot is full, and you should definitely not have to pay for entering a completely full lot, and not parking at all... read more

Security is pretty tight here. You drive up to a booth and they ask you to roll down the windows to make sure you have nothing dangerous in the car and then continue down a ramp to the garage. Certainly fits vehicles that are under 6'6. Had a 2025 F150 that fit and saw multiple large SUV and pickups in the garage although turning is a tight squeeze. They have multiple levels and can fill up really quick. They can double park you, assisted valet, where you leave the keys with the Valets if you are behind another vehicle. Its a bit confusing exiting the garage on foot, we were parked near an exit though so not to bad. You take and elevator up to the top floor and have to walk past an information desk and then security to exit and upon reentry have to go through a somewhat TSA like security to get back into the elevator to the garage. Parking prices weren't so bad compared to hotel parking costs. Stayed parked about 6 hrs and paid $26. You also pay on the way out. read more

It was our last day in DC and the parking at our hotel was $59/day totaling up to $69 with the taxes. They had a reduced rate but only if we were out of the parking by 1pm. The problem was, we had planned to stay longer until about dinner time. We were looking at other parking garages that offered an early bird check in, but thankfully, my husband had asked one of his colleagues who is from the DC area and he had recommended parking at Ronald Reagan Building parking. The rates were really reasonable and for how long we stayed there, we paid $25, which was well below the hotel fees (plus we didn't have to walk all the way back up to the hotel) and even if we did, the rate would have maxed out to $35 (see attached pic for rates as of December 2022). The parking is secured. There are several security guards at the entrance and just so you know, your car will be searched before entering. The floors are named a certain place for you to easily remember where you are and they also have business-sized cards by the elevators that you can take with you to remember your floor and section that you parked. When you exit on the main floor, you will pass the security check area from the inside, but just know that you will have to go through the security check point to reenter the parking in the building. The parking lot itself is really nice. Unfortunately, the security to get back in the building to get back to our car was not overly friendly. He had a mask over his face and I couldn't understand what he was saying and got pretty rude with me. But he lady that was in the actual parking garage taking payment was probably the most rude person I've ever encountered in my life. We would not park here again. read more

I was visiting from out of town and my friend group suggested to park here because 1) its close to all the monuments and 2) has good security. The entrance is kinda in between two buildings and the guards advised us to leave our pepper sprays/pocket knives in the car because we would have to go through security scans when we retrieve the car. I went on a Sunday and there were lots of available parking spots with no wait/no lines. To exit the parking lot, you have to get out via the office building which was a little difficult to navigate (signs weren't clear), but the staff/workers were really helpful in pointing the way out. To pick up our car, we just went through a simple security check. Parking was $17/day which was reasonable to me. read more

Really annoying experience at this parking garage given all the security measures, but this was a last minute selection on an evening where we needed to just get out of our car and walk to our final destination. Vehicles are checked going into the garage. Then, once parked, there is very little signage directing you to pedestrian exits. We ended up going through a stairwell and exiting through the food court, then up an another level via an elevator ride to the exit. Then, to return to your vehicle, you have to go through security in the main lobby - almost as bad as an airport, and the security guards were very rude. Park elsewhere!! read more

Security check going in so I felt safe. Centrally located and close to Smithsonian. I googled a lot of places and landed on this one because of proximity. Signs for many areas of the lot said valet only or leave your keys but nobody was doing that and there was no attendant anywhere. No signs of where to go for this. Dang I love reviewing a great parking garage! Reminds of the awesome Sutter Stockton Garage in downtown San Francisco. First of all, if you're on this Yelp page, you're probably the type to want to drive to downtown for all the benefits that come with that like having a place to store stuff that you can come back and forth to, you're in a large group, you have a baby with stroller or something, or you just don't want to sit next to someone smelly on the Metro. Reasons you should use this garage: 1) Right smack in the center of the National Mall! Walk everywhere! 2) If you're in a party of more than 1, instead of taking the Metro, parking here on the weekends for $15 all day probably has more value than buying 2 metro tickets. 3) Very secure building--security will even search your car before entering the garage! Beware that this might add time between your origin and destination. 4) $15 for all day parking! Maybe you don't know how long you need to park but you can leave your car here and not have to worry about a feeding a meter. 5) There's a food court on the bottom floor of the Ronald Reagan Building where you can relax and get food before/after your adventure of the day. I know there might be other garages nearby for $12, but you can't beat the location, its 24/7 status, and security of this one. Superb for our needs. We (family of four) visited the Museum of African American History yesterday (late Oct) and need to park nearby because toddlers and new-walking infants can't walk far fast. It was a little tricky getting into the 24-hour parking garage (did a drive around the blocks and then u-turn) to get on the right street to go in, and traffic was heavy with impatient drivers (2pm), there was a simple security check at the entrance where you open your trunk and they ask you if you have weapons. Once in, the garage was full on all levels till we reached B4. A man from assisted valet parking came to help us. Tipping is voluntary and we did tip (I mean, the guy stays in a deep hole underground to help care for the cars). We saw a woman being driven around with a worried and frustrated look looking for her car while on our way out. Remember the location you parked in, the garage is big. (Color: letter number, Eg Blue B4). There were lots of school field trips going on so the building was crowded but not difficult to get out of. Just a 10 minute walk away from the museum, if theres a line out the front door to get back in, walk over to the staff booth at the garage entrance and they will direct you to a side door you can go through to get to the garage. Oh right, prices: $25 for 4 hours. I think it was $20 for an hour, and prices increased marginally with each hour. The review below saying prices were more reasonable than most is accurate, with high security. All the staff were amazingly friendly. Pick this place and tip them for great work done. Today I had a meeting in the Wilson building, which was time sensitive. My work place is not very public transportation accessible, so I needed to drive to my meeting. The Ronald Reagan building is close to the Wilson building, so it seemed like a great fit. It was a bad decision. It took me 20 minutes just to find a parking space, and it was a valet only space with no valet in sight. The valet service there is free, you just have to give your keys to the valet. It seemed easy, but it was not. Only valets in your tiny little quadrant are willing to take your keys. If your valet is on break then you are out of luck. You can find another valet, but in my experience he won't take your keys. I had to wait 20 minutes for my valet in my little section of 60 cars to come back from his break, so I could give him my keys. Everyone else was incapable of or unwilling to write down my parking space, take my keys, and allow me to come back to that section. It was a horrific experience. It took me 40 minutes in total. I would've gotten to my meeting faster on a rebellious camel. I will never park there again, and I don't recommend Ronald Reagan Building Parking if you have any alternatives whatsoever. read more

Great place to park if you want to be close to the White House & Washington Monument. $13 on the weekend for all day parking, and was pretty empty at 9am in the morning on Saturday. Security review of the car in order to go into the garage, and also a walk through metal detectors to get back in the building to go to parking (should have a street access that's easier in my opinion). Valet option inside, though no one was manning the post at the time we were there. In the middle of the National Mall area, so you do have quite a hike to either end, but if you don't mind a walk, you're okay. read more

We used this parking lot twice on our week-long visit to see the White House, the Capital, and the cherry blossoms in full bloom. The cost was reasonable and actually better than some other lots in the area. Because it is a federal building the security is phenomenal. Leaving is easy, but entering the garage will require you to have your bags checked via X-ray and you will go through a metal scanner. Expect some delay entering. Especially near the end of the day. The people who work there were very friendly and helpful. The actually smiled. :-). I recommend strongly. read more

We parked here 3 times in our time in DC. It's $22 for 10 hours and worth every penny. All the info I had seen tells you not to drive into the city so last trip we parked in VA and took the metro in and then spent just as much as just parking in the city, plus it took at least half hour each time back and forth on the metro to our car. Even with 2 people we were barley breaking even. We used 2 of the entrances of the garage. It's very close to the White House on the North side of the National Mall. Right across from American History Museum. The garage has 2000 spaces, but the first day we circled like 6 times and a very nice guy flagged us down and said we should just valet the car since it was FREE. We had seen the signs, but assumed that was for workers. But nope, anyone can use the valet. I liked the extra protection being near the valet guys. They ask how long you will be there and then we actually parked it, but they kept our keys and move it only if someone else needs to get out. You do have to open your trunk and they check the inside and outside of your car before you enter the garage. This was no hassle at all. Also the best thing is that you can use the bathrooms on floor C! This was great after our 2 hour drive into down and at the end of the day. Just ask one of the super nice security guards where it is. The elevator we went up and down it was easy to find. It's even open late. After our night tour it was after 10 when we got to the car. On your way back in you do have to go through the scanners and have bags checked. We never had issues. The guards were all super nice. read more

If you have an event in the building, it is really convenient to park in the same space. Security will check under your car and in your trunk. You need to show id before you drive to the parking area. Parking is around $18. Take advantage of the reminder cards at each elevator entrance so you can remember where you parked. Write your space number on that card. Pay attention to the location of the elevator too. It is easy to get lost in the garage. The price is half of what The Willard charges across the street. National and Warner theater are also nearby. read more

As others have said this a SECURE building, you stop for guards on the way in to park and go through screening to return to the building. If you have anything to hide don't go here. There is a large food court in the building. First day arrived around 7:00am easy parking, next three days we got there later and I let the valet do it. $25 to park. No early bird deal. Worst worst worst worst worst ever!! I worked a 12 hour day to find that my car was valeted there with no key in sight and no person in sight. No map to tell me where to find the key, no phone number to find where the key would be. I found a security guard who also didn't know, and she took me through the entire Reagan building twice. I finally found my key at a different valet stand. They had moved it upstairs and then the valet gave the key to me. I asked "I'm supposed to get my own car?" He said yes. Right in the heart of downtown D.C. and only $13 on the weekends, this is my go-to parking spot! It's clean, I've always found a spot easily, and security? Forget about it! It's so close to the White House and under a federal building that they check your car! Not too invasive, but you'll open your trunk and unlock your doors, and they slide a mirror underneath your car. Over-billing taken care of. Leaving the parking lot can serious take over an hour, and that's a long time for your vehicle to idle. Running AC on a hot day was impossible because we were not moving for so long our car started to nearly over heat. read more

We parked here a few different days of our visit to DC. It was less expensive than a metro to and from for our family of 5 and fit our oversized vehicle (GMC 2500 HD) tightly....but able. Be prepared for a security check of your vehicle and upon re entering the building on foot to retrieve your car. We packed an ice chest, left it in the car and ate a tailgate picnic lunch (in the garage...) each day, but there is a large food court in the building that is affordable with a variety choices that are better than the Smithsonian cafeterias. read more

Probably safest and best location to park your car if your in need of parking that extremely close to National Mall. We paid hourly but i was willing if it meant no damage or theft. Its govt owed so be prepared to have security briefly check your car and trunk to make sure everything is good, like i said, SAFE.
