Dr Z is a great dentist. I found him on Yelp and I couldn't be happier being his patient. Recently I noticed my face was swollen. Googled it and found it might be a tooth infection. Immediately called Dr Z and he asked if I could come in later that day. Seriously when does that happen with any doctor. He put me on antibiotics and everything worked out but could have been very serious. I am so grateful to have a dentist like Dr Z. read more

Wonderful - kind and welcoming environment. I had a dental emergency and needed assistance on NYE. I needed to find a dentist in my neighborhood, Roscoe Village, that was open to help me figure out my next steps with a specific tooth that was causing progressive and consistent pain and I was so worried about the issue not being able to be treated til after the new year. I contacted Dr. Zelikow's office via his website on a Sunday and heard back within an hour (amazing) and he assured me that he could take a look on Monday, which was NYE. I cannot tell you how grateful I am for the support that I received from his office on NYE morning to make sure that I was pointed in the right direction to a trusted specialist in Roscoe Village that was able to service me that day. Due to the support I received from Dr. Zelikow's office, I was able to resolve my issue and pain on NYE and I'm forever grateful. I have been going to Dr. Ron for 15+ years after a friend referred me. Everyone on staff is friendly and professional. Dr Ron cares for you and your mouth health, always listens and takes care of what ever comes up. I go 2 times a year for cleanings and checkups. Hygienist Jenny is wonderful too. read more

Dr. Zelikow is amazing. He has been my dentist since I was a little girl, and I made him promise that even when he eventually retires, he still has to take care of my teeth! I LOVE going to the dentist because of this man! How many people can say that? Dr. Zelikow is friendly, professional, and extremely good at his job. He is very gentle, and even though I've probably had about 10 cavities filled over the years, I've never experienced any pain. Dr. Zelikow's staff is also great...I have to give a special shout-out to Mary at the front desk, who is always wonderful to deal with. I wouldn't trade my dentist for the world! Dr. Zelikow rocks! I started going to him when i first moved to Chicago in '98. then my husband got dental insurance, and he wasn't on that plan, so i switched...well, the new guy was awful...sized up my teeth and then told me i was on the verge of "palatal collapse" and needed braces immediately and then gave me the name of his associate for a referral. i was terrified (palatal collapse?) and couldn't believe that in 30+ years no one had ever mentioned this before. well then my husband, who has near perfect teeth after years of braces, went to him and the guy tried to sell him Veneers...???? total scam artist! anyway, long story short...i ditched that insurance and went back to Dr. Zelikow and apologized for cheating on him, and didn't mind at all...reassured me that my teeth were fine (sure if i wanted to correct my slight overbite then i could, but i didn't need to...that i would do just fine for the next 60+ years as is)...anyway, so happy to be back with him...highly recommend. and he does the entire exam and cleaning himself, vs. handing it off to his assistant... Walking into Dr. Zelikow's office feels more like a day spa than a dentist's office: bright, well-lit open spaces, with blonde woods, nice paintings, and friendly staff. Dr. Zelikow himself is top-notch! He has the most up to date technology and equipment, and he's extremely knowledgeable - he'll talk you through what's going on with your teeth, and review your options - from what time frame you're looking at (ie. if you don't get your teeth fixed, what will happen), to types of treatment available, etc. He's very honest on his opinions about treatments (ie. he doesn't recommend laser teeth-whitening). He's a nice guy, very approachable, I love his style! I highly recommend him! read more

I love that he stands behind what he does. I had a tray done to get my teeth whitened and the day before I was supposed to come in he called me and told me that he was not happy with how the tray turned out so I had to do the mold again - that was super nice of him. I broke a tooth last night and my normal dentist wasn't open today. I looked online and found Dr. Zelikow and saw the rave reviews, figured he must be a solid guy. He got me right in, realized it was a broken crown and shaved it down and polished it so it would stop cutting my tongue and gums and told me to take it up with my current dentist - that they should stand by their work. I went to the front to pay and there was NO charge for the work. The reviews are true. This guy is a really sincere doc, and I will be moving my business to him immediately. It had been about 18 months since my last cleaning and I had cavities and a chipped tooth and he got me all fixed up. Unfortunately, I didn't have dental insurance so it cost me a pretty penny. Wow! Best Dentist ever! Truly goes above and beyond for his patients. I have been going to Dr. Zelikow since I sprouted my first tooth. I will be 30 next month! Dr. Zelikow is great. Not only does he meet the needs of busy patients by scheduling appointments until 7pm on Wednesdays, but he is personable, gentle, thorough, and honest. Dr. Z was the second dentist I visited after moving to Chicago several years ago. The first dentist (also located on Belmont) charged me a shocking amount for my cleaning and told me that I needed three fillings immediately. I was suspicious that the other dentist was ripping me off since I hadn't needed anything beyond routine cleanings in the last 10 years... and there seemed to be a lot of fancy new equipment all over the place. (Is it really necessary to see video footage as the hygienist cleans your teeth? I'll pass on that, thank you very much.) So after reading the reviews on Yelp, I made an appointment with Dr. Z to get a second opinion. Dr. Z did a thorough exam and concluded that none of the fillings that had been recommended to me were actually necessary. He also took the time to show me why. I would not recommend going to Zelikow. I have had to spend a lot of money to repair work the dental work that he did. I went to a new dentist and was able to see the work on camera that he did and it was not good. I changed dentists because his fillings were falling out. He is a very nice guy and so people like him and want to go to him but I had to find out the hard way that the dental work was not good. I hate to write such a bad review so I can only hope that he turns things around. read more
