In the spring of last year, I received two crowns from Dr. Moon and was told by him personally that I could come back within a year if anything happened to them. I was so happy and reassured by his words. He explained that he was using new technology and wanted to make sure the crowns held up well, which made me feel cared for and confident in his work. Fast forward to less than a year later: one of the crowns has chipped. I called the office expecting the support I was promised, only to be told that Dr. Moon never said any such thing -- and that I would have to pay out of pocket to have it fixed. I was stunned. Not only did I feel misled, but I was also made to feel like I imagined the whole conversation. As a clinical therapist in training, it's my job to remember the details of a conversation. I didn't imagine this conversation; he literally went back on his word. What's most disappointing is that Dr. Moon used to be my favorite dentist. He almost felt like a friend (lol). I feel like giving him the benefit of the doubt here (but how can I!). It's frustrating that he's gone back on our agreement and I'm upset with him. That's all I have to say. Dr Moon is a great dentist, I enjoyed seeing him every time I went in. He filled two cavities for me but then the next time I went in I was seen by Dr Cho who said the cavity fillings were too large and I would have to get onlays instead. When I confronted the office about this, the receptionist I talked to via text told me I was wrong and that I had never seen Dr Moon, and then asked me for a bunch of information on the visits I had previously had. I thought it was ridiculous they didn't have this on file and was outraged by them telling me I was wrong and hadn't gotten cavity fillings there by Dr Moon. I denied the treatment plan but they would not stop trying to schedule an appointment for treatment so I ultimately stopped going there. I heard Dr Cho is no longer at the practice, but there is also a hygienist there that is very aggressive on trying to get people to buy the fancy mouth wash they sell ($40) I told her I had bought it and used it and it made my tongue go numb so I stopped using it. She told me to buy it again and let her know if my tongue goes numb again... Then she told me I had gingivitis and pulled out a large set of teeth to show me how to properly brush my teeth. It was incredibly rude and embarrassing. I now go to a different dentist that has never mentioned gingivitis and told me the treatment Dr Cho pushed for was not necessary at that time. All that being said, if you can get an appointment with Dr Moon, I would highly recommend seeing him. Just be wary of the hygienists, they push for special cleanings that aren't covered by insurance and to buy extra products you don't need. read more

(TLDR - Went elsewhere after Dr. Cho gave me an extremely aggressive treatment plan) Background: Late 30s, electric brush 2x/day, floss daily, cleanings every 6 mo, pretty good diet / no soda, have had some cavities in past, did Invisalign. In July 2024, I went to Dental Minds for the first time for a 6 mo checkup and cleaning - it was closer than my old dentist and had great reviews. I was told that I may not get a cleaning that day on account of their very thorough exam. After taking x-rays and tons of photos, Dr. Cho carefully charted my gum loss and other apparent issues. This ate up the entire appointment, so I scheduled a follow-up to review my results and finally get a cleaning. When I went back, Dr. Cho gave me a 9 page printout dedicated to everything that was wrong with my mouth: "Recession" in 6 places. "New decay" on 11 teeth. "Failed restorations" on 7 teeth. "Future root canal concerns" on 4 teeth. "Acceptable dental work" on 2 teeth. Keep in mind, over 30+ years, I've never had more than 2 cavities in one visit. No one's ever had concerns about my gums. Now Dr. Cho is telling me I need close to a dozen not just fillings, but in-lays, on-lays, or crowns. I was also told that I have early-stage periodontal disease (a stage past gingivitis), possibly due to a bacterial infection. The only way to diagnose this would be to send my saliva out for testing. Dr. Cho even insinuated that this oral infection may have been the cause of a tumor I had removed from elsewhere in my body. This review took more than an hour, so not only was there no time to do a cleaning, Dr. Cho basically refused to do a regular cleaning, telling me the only thing that would help was a deep cleaning (which insurance rarely covers). I explained to him that his report was unlike anything any other dentist had ever told me, and I wasn't ready to move forward. To his credit, he encouraged me to get a second opinion. So I did (at my own expense, since insurance only covers 1 exam every 6 mo). I went to see another dentist who was highly recommended, without telling her I was in for a second opinion. She did a fairly thorough exam, told me one old filling needed to be replaced, and did a cleaning. When I finally told her about Dr. Cho's report, she said, "We'll keep an eye on some other spots, but I wouldn't let anyone drill any of my other teeth," and that my gums looked good for a 40 year old. I'll stop short of accusing Dr. Cho of quackery, but I will say that his treatment plan was crazy aggressive and would've cost me tens of thousands of dollars, even with insurance. (If my teeth do fall out of my head in the next decade, I owe him an apology.) That said, my wife saw Dr. Cho's partner, Dr. Moon, and had a great experience. It's too bad she doesn't feel comfortable going back now. read more

I had a ridiculous experience here. I came in for a routine cleaning and left without one! They spent 1.5 hours pressuring me to get X rays, which I am uncomfortable with because I am pregnant, but eventually did. Then they spent a majority of the time there convincing me my teeth were going to fall out, which they aren't, and tried to get me to spend $300 on a test to tell me what kind of bacteria I grow in my mouth. It was the most ridiculous pitch for this seriously possible Ponzi scheme dental plan, and I wouldn't be surprised if the dentists are driving around in their gifted pink new cars. After an hour of being walked through this pitch, with a PowerPoint slide and a detail review of the website, the dentist said it was impossible to clean my teeth with the time left. I went to my OB and a different dentist and told them about Dental minds concerns and just like I said a million times at my appt, they confirmed that when you are pregnant your gums bleed a little more and nothing to worry about. I called to make an appointment specifying that I wanted to come in for a cleaning. Instead the doctor spent an hour telling me that there was no point removing the stains from my teeth because my 1 mm of bone loss was basically terminal cancer. Even though my gums do not bleed when I floss and there was no tartar anywhere on the x-rays, Dr. Cho kept going back and forth on whether or not he was going to allow me to get a cleaning without performing saliva tests and an aggressive treatment of antibiotics. Unless you enjoy being talked down to and intimidated, I would avoid Dr. Cho at all costs. The doctor never even looked in my mouth to examine me for cavities or gum disease. read more

I have had a fantastic experience every time at Dental Minds. Dr. Moon is so friendly and thoroughly explains what is going on with your mouth. He listens to patients, and is conscious about what people do or don't feel comfortable with. The hygienists are also extremely caring and friendly, as is the front desk staff. I came in with a filling that had fallen out (from a previous dentist's work a while back), that I had been worried about getting looked at. Dr. Moon was understanding, and helped me feel at ease with the solution. He never pressures patients into something that they do not want or need to do. The office is extremely clean and is modern, with TVs so you can watch a show while getting a cleaning or work done. When people say "I love my dentist" I always assumed that meant "I have perfect teeth and therefore a trip to the dentist is easy!" Well for the first time I can also say I love my dentist and my teeth are the basically the opposite of perfect. Everyone in the office goes above and beyond, from the hygienists and assistants to the front desk staff, to Kaarin the office manager who has helped me so much to move my records over and navigate my dental plan. Dr. Moon is phenomenal, and I really appreciate the time he takes to explain to me exactly what is going on with my teeth and what the next steps are. Me and 2 friends tried this dentist. All of us had very few dental issues and were there for a 150 dollar cleaning deal they were running for first time customers. After leaving not only did they try to upsell each of us on care plans that would cost many thousands of dollars, they also claimed that they were to busy for the cleaning that day and tried to get us to pay for the visit as a consultation without receiving our cleaning. We ended up getting the cleaning but had to fight for it. I've been to other dentists since and they disputed all of the issues this dentist claimed all 3 of us had. I'm pretty sure this guy is just trying to sell 40 dollar bottles of mouthwash. Would not recommend read more

What an amazing experience! I was in search of a dentist when I discovered Dental Minds on Yelp, and their stellar ratings didn't disappoint. It truly was the best dental experience I've ever had. The office was clean, the staff was friendly, and Dr. Moon was exceptionally thorough, which I greatly appreciated. As a new patient, I needed some X-Rays, and their 3D scans were impressive. Dr. Moon took the time to explain everything I needed to keep an eye on. Despite thinking I knew how to properly brush and floss after all these years... lol I didn't. I went in for an emergency visit during the weekend and the staff here is great! A filing in one of my teeth chipped and Dental Minds was one of the only places that was open during the evening on a weekend. Being that it was a last minute walk-in appointment I did have to wait a while to have my filling replaced but the receptionist/assistant was quick to sign me up and place me in a room. Dr. Moon was very kind and professional. He was able to replace my old filling that same evening and he did an excellent job explaining what other work I would need to have done later on. I can honestly say this is the least amount of discomfort I have ever felt during a filing placement. I am also glad that I felt no pressure to set up appointments for other dental work, instead I was told the cost for the procedures and told to call whenever I was ready. I meet Dr. Cho in 2019 before the pandemic at Precision Dental on Diversey. He did amazing work then. He fix an old job for a root canal. Someone else had done not so good of job few years ago and it was giving me a problem. He explain in detail my treatment plan. Ever sense he gain me as a patient. I was sad when I found out he was not going to be at presision dental. He couldn't tell me where he was gonna go. So I had to do my homework and I Google and search for him, it turns out he is even closer to me! Yay for me. I Came to him today and let me tell you with his office is state of the art, clean, updated with all the gadgets I loved it. My daughter also comes to him she is 8 years old.
