Clearly Cares is an outstanding dental office. From Kristina at the front desk to Jessica my dental assistant to Kenneth Barker my dentist, I've enjoyed my interaction with everyone at Clearly Cares who have been kind and professional in every encounter. I've been coming to Clearly Cares for a few years and am thrilled to see them expand to their current space on Elston. It's a beautiful, spacious clinic with large, modern, quiet exam rooms with new, comfortable chairs. There are flat screen TVs on the wall *and* on the ceiling with speakers on the chair headrests which allow you to hear whatever you are watching. At the beginning of your appointment they ask you if you'd like to stream something on Netflix. Why doesn't every office use technology like this to make their patients more comfortable? It's very relaxing to watch a nature program for example, during a routine exam or cleaning. When I've had a concern, question or request, it's always been handled in the most respectful and courteous way. I've really felt safe and cared for at this office. I'm sure this would be the case if I ever had a serious issue and recommend anyone with dental concerns or who is nervous about going to the dentist come here. read more

My family and I have been going to Dr. Barker for years and we love him. My son loves the tvs on the ceiling! His team recently helped me get an emergency appointment with an orthodontist when I had an issue and my own orthodontist wouldn't help me. They called for me and made an appt for me. So helpful in my state of crises! My only issue is with scheduling evening spots. You have to schedule way in advance for those coveted spots and it may be hard to reschedule an evening appt. This review is based solely on my ability to reach someone to make an appointment. I was in the market for a new dental office for my husband and I. I called this office multiple times and left numerous messages. I also completed their online form in order to receive a call back. I have not received a response still. I decided to go elsewhere because it made me really nervous to think it was that hard to reach someone as a new patient, I can't imagine what it would be like to deal with them if I was already a client and had an issue. The owner got back to me and instead of asking what name I used to make my appointment he assumed I lied about leaving correspondence. I am very happy with my dentist in Roscoe village. I had my second visit to clearly cares and will continue to use this as my main dentist. Dr. Barker is efficient. His hygienist did a great job cleaning my teeth and getting plaque removed. The office is take all the precautions necessary during the pandemic. I didn't have a copay my first visit using delta dental but then had a small copay for my second visit. They have gotten busy though so sadly if you don't have a consistent job schedule, it's hard to get in. This was such a great dental experience! The receptionist was friendly and I didn't have to wait at all for my appointment. I wish I had written this right away so I could remember the name of the technician who took my x-rays. He was so professional and extremely nice. Dr. Barker did a fabulous job with my teeth cleaning and examination. Some dentists makes me feel like I am drowning during the cleaning but he was right on with the suction. I know that sounds weird, but you know what I mean! My husband also had a great experience with his appointments-exam, cleaning and cavities. I had no cavities. Score one for me! Oh yeah. You can watch television! When I saw options from Sy-Fy (is that how they spell it now?) I was hoping they would have some awesome giant shark vs giant squid monster movie. Sigh. They didn't. I had a fantastic experience with Clearly Cares, and it began even before I had my appointment. When I called, the receptionist checked my insurance and then called me back to let me know how much was covered. No surprises! The staff was very friendly. There was a TV in front of the dental chair and a TV on the ceiling so you can watch a movie when you're reclined. They even ask what kind of movie you'd like to watch. After moving to a new job with new insurance I had to find a new dentist. This became even more urgent when one of my fillings started to come loose! Dr. Barker at Clearly Cares Dental was able to get me in quickly and replace the filling as well as do a bit more work on a follow-up the next week. The facilities here are great, with TVs in the exam rooms. The staff has been very friendly and attentive on each visit. Dr. Barker has been great as well, making sure there was enough local anesthetic to keep the pain away during the entire process. Hands down, the best experience I've had at a dentist. Not only are the staff totally friendly and great at working with my busy (read: crazy) schedule to book appointments, but they are fabulous at being transparent on procedure and pricing. The office is very clean and comfortable- everything is up to date and really just a nice place to get your teeth taken care of! I was floored at the fact that you can come in and watch TV while your teeth are being worked on. Every time I come in, I choose Star Trek (read: big nerd) and being able to choose a show or movie to watch takes some of the drudgery out of getting your teeth worked on. Honestly, as much as I hate getting work done on my teeth, this place does a great job of making it comfortable, relaxed and efficient. I've waited to write my review until after I've had a few visits with Dr. Barker at Clearly Cares from Yelp so I could give an opinion of more than just one visit. I've had an exceptional experience with dentist office, from calling to make my appointment up until getting my cavity filled, the whole process was easy and enjoyable (as enjoyable as getting a cavity filled can be). I don't have insurance and they were very clear and upfront about what I would be paying so there would be no surprises when I received my bill. I had xrays and a cleaning at the first visit and the second visit I needed to get a cavity filled and an old cavity needed replace so I could floss. A wonderful clinic that takes very good care of their patients needs. I have been going there for almost a year now and the staff is so friendly and accomodating. They have late hours that can work with anyone's hours. I recently was there for a molar extraction and I expected the worst (pain and lots of it) and Dr. Wu reassured me that I had nothing to worry about and showed me the xrays to prove it will be an easy extraction. The whole procedure too less than 20 minutes. I was really happy. She explained everything that was going on, which help make this anxiety ridden girl, relax. I knew I was in good hands! This place rocks! They were the 2nd dentist I've ever been to in my life (my 1st was my childhood dentist who I went to up until I was about 22), and I couldn't have picked a better place. Both Dr. Barker and Dr. Wu are excellent. The office is clean, their equipment up-to-date, and literally everyone I've come in contact with is as nice as can be. They even made sure I was properly taken care of after suffering a fainting spell after my first rounds of getting a filling (I don't know what happened, my body just gave out! Nothing they did to cause it). The second round of fillings went great and they were all aware of what had happened at the previous appointment, and made sure I was fully 100% okay before leaving the office. They also have various TV shows and movies to watch while the doctor and techs work on you (even a screen on the ceiling!) to put your mind at ease. The prices were very affordable with my insurance (which at the time was Delta Dental). Unfortunately, I switched jobs and have DMO insurance now (which Clearly Cares does not accept), but am looking into possibly switching to PPO or flat out going back to Clearly Cares without insurance, because I had a bad experience with my new dentist. I trust Clearly Cares and really miss them! I'll be back soon hopefully! read more

I was very skeptical about visiting a new dentist because I was accustomed to going to my family dentist for a number of years. Unfortunately, my dentist moved his office to the far southwest suburbs which prompted me to search for a new dentist conveniently located new my home. A friend recommended Clearly Cares Dental. I have to say that from the moment I walked into their office, everyone from the front desk associate to the Dr. Wu made me feel comfortable and welcome. Although I visited the office for my annual cleaning, Dr. Wu discovered that I had a small cavity and furnished me with options to correct the issue. Her assistant Zhuji provided me with the projected costs before Dr. Wu started the procedure. I felt that Dr. Wu and Zhuji both generally cared for my well being. This really meant a lot to me. In addition to the wonderful treatment I received, the facility is clean, comfortable, and welcoming. I especially loved the option to pick from a select number of movies and TV shows to watch while they were attending to me. Side note - I was able to watch X-Men on the wall while sitting upright, and when they placed me in the reclining position, I was able to continue watching the movie from the television installed in the ceiling. **loved that** I usually don't write reviews, but the service that I received at Clearly Cares Dental is worth writing about. I live a block away and have been going here for probably 10 years. Always well satisfied. Never a problem. Plus they've referred me to specialists for more specialized work such as infections under a crown. Dr Rosha at Bucktown Endontics is great. Dr Barker sent me to see her for an infection under a crown which she took care of. Some reviews complain that it's hard to make an appointment. Never has been for me and I have no trouble believing all the 5 stars reviews are authentic. I highly recommend Dr Barker and believe the critical reviews are the fake ones. read more

Holy cow this place is great! I just went here for the first time and there was less than a 5 minute wait time to be seen, Dr Barker did the cleaning himself, and I was in and out of there within 1 hour - which included a filling! Incredible. I can't forget to mention, the filling was absolutely painless. I was loaded up with a ton of numbing gel before the numbing shots were done and he did not skimp on the Novocaine. All I felt was as little pressure from time to time, but no pain whatsoever. Also the TV is a great touch, it was an awesome distractor. I need more than two hands to count how many dentists I have been to in my life. I am very anxious about dental procedures, and I was hesitant in seeing any dentist as I have not been in 6-7 years. Dr. Anna Wu really put me at ease from the very first visit. She explains everything in a way that is easy to understand, and she is very calm and professional. She also just seems like a genuinely nice person, as does most of the staff. I have had a number of fillings here over the past few months, and the cost has been reasonable. The schedule is also really convenient for the client. I've seen nice dentists in the past and dentists that really knew their stuff, but this is by far the best experience I have had. My kids and I were due for cleaning and routine check up/xrays. however we were a bit overdue as I was in between jobs and changed my dental insurance. My insurance required me to find a different dentist than my regular guy. I came across Clearly Cares Dental from Yelp and a recommendation from a friend. I was very impressed with my visit. Clean facility, caring and professional staff. More importantly, I was blown away by the educational part given to me regarding my kids teeth, the xrays and some quick knowledge based suggestions. I've never had a dentist go over in detail such information. Dr. Barker's dental tech Jason was so kind and informative when doing my full xrays. He explained the play by play so that I could get a comprehensive explanation of what was happening. In addition, he and Dr. Barker were great with my teen and my 10 year old. Dr. Barker introduced himself before examining our teeth in the exam room. This dentist was so informative and he explained in full detail what he suggested, why things are occurring on their teeth and any further consults if needed. I really appreciated his professional demeanor, his intelligence, and down to earth personality. Not to mention, I have high anxiety around dentists but I was at ease during the visit and introduction. I did not experience any irritation, pain or discomfort during my cleaning. He was great. Great experience. The staff was very professional and accommodating. I was in to see the dentist almost immediately and once in the chair, they took thorough exams and took the time out to explain the images of my teeth and what would need to happen. Instead of pressuring me to go through procedures immediately, they provided me with a break down of my billing statement and let me decide whether or not to come back for the procedure.
