My favorite was the brisket, it's my first, I'm used to California bbqs Tri-tip, prime rib, filet mignon and T-bone steaks. Never realized what a real bbq brisket was, always saw it on TV, but this was the real deal. Naturally the other meats were great, but the brisket takes the cake. The food is good and some is excellent. I'd prefer more smoke, as others have said, but the pork is juicy and tender. The fried okra is hot, fresh, crisp and delicious. The cornbread cakes are spot on. I suspect the turnip greens are canned and of a brand that I really like so zero complaints there. If you live around here you know and if you're passing nearby it's certainly worth a stop. I'll be back whenever i'm in the area.

The tenders were in fact hand breaded and looked great-my boys wolfed them down before I could taste one. We shared the regular catfish plate with 6 filets, beans, cole slaw, hush puppies and a baked potato with butter and sour cream. The catfish was done right! Good amount of breading, tender/flaky, not greasy. Beans and slaw were yummy as well. Let's talk about the star of this plate-the hush puppies. We got a combo of regular spicy and the spicy hush puppies have spoiled me. They were homemade and I could've eaten an entire platter of those alone. Everything was about $40, we left full and happy. As a foodie, it brings me great joy to find these places that are not food chains and their take on a food we have all eaten before.
