He said he might be able to take it in about mid-day so we took it there. He diagnosed the problem but also researched the make and model to make sure. He was able to fit us in and did a great job on short notice and we made our way to other stops before heading home. We had no problems getting home over that whole distance. We really appreciated the fitting us in, the thorough work and a reasonable price for the work.

Off the road over the left bank and into the rocks. Car was totaled. I was taken to the Elizabethtown Hospital. The state trooper came into the room told me where the car was headed. To Leroy's in Port Henry 30 miles away. The car had all of my belongings. You know there are no UBER's, taxies etc.. anywhere near Elizabeth Town for me to figure out how to get my things let alone get to NYC. From my room a figured I would try his phone. On a Sunday when he is clearly closed. He picked up and immediately recognized who I was from my number. We spoke a while and he knew what a spot I was in. He said " I will drive your belongings to the hospital". He never blinked. Within an hour he dropped off everything and left. i wasn't allowed to meet him or leave my bed and he wasn't allowed in from COVID. The next day he called and said he was mailing my EZ Pass and garage opener to my home as they were left behind. I also needed several photos of the car for insurance follow up. Done immediately. This is an exceptional person who clearly puts his clients first with major priority. Now I know why the state trooper never hesitated in explaining why the car was going to Leroy. We decided to visit Vermont for a few days and on the way there, our car had issues on a Friday night, so we went to their shop Saturday morning and then Sheila the 'owner' of the garage who also said it wasn't an auto repair shop when it CLEARLY states it on their yelp page so Sheila you should update that before giving people the wrong idea. Anyways, we dropped off the car in the lot Saturday morning because Sheila told us to , so the mechanic can look at it 'if' they come to take a look and will update us. Later that day, they told us that the mechanic won't be in until Sunday. They examined it Sunday morning and apparently charge $95 an hour for labor but all they've done is a diagnostic which apparently took 2-3 hrs which is ridiculous! The diagnostic fee should be 1 flat rate and after speaking to Sheila on the phone, simply wanting to know some answers about the situation, Sheila rudely hung up before finishing answering my questions -- she was extremely unprofessional and rude! Even if you are annoyed , we only wanted answers & we were not being rude and just wanted to know the status and price, WHICH ANYONE WOULD DO, you cannot just hang up on a paying customer! Sunday afternoon, the mechanic called and told us that he will need to get the parts which is understandable since a couple others said the same thing BUT he wasn't going to get the parts until Monday morning! Also, the garage is very shady, Sheila starts telling me that they aren't an auto repair shop -- you have a big sign outside your garage that says Auto Repair, your business card says Auto Repair, you have a lot with cars and men working on cars...if you're not an auto repair shop then what are you?? On Monday morning, my friends and I physically went to the garage to see what's going on , the head mechanic said he found a ton of problems and would take at least a week to get fixed BUT knowing mechanics and since we weren't from Vermont , it would have been easy for them to cause problems or tack on more cash to leave it there to fix the car so we decided to just tow the car with a u haul truck back to NYC because the garage spent 3 days 'inspecting' and charged $300+ and didn't even fix it! They got the new parts and put them in for us but after we hauled it back to NYC, it wouldn't turn on! They bought the parts but didn't actually fix it! ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RISK GOING HERE! I know it's hard because there aren't that many auto repair shops around but it's better to find a decent one that's further out than go here! They have low ratings for a reason! Do not trust them!! I brought a second car over and he told me the things that were wrong with it and advised me to talk to the dealer about getting it fixed before I bought it. I did and they did!! Jon got me in for the next week for an undercoat and oil change he filled all the fluids and explained to me that I needed to keep an eye on the oil because it was a car that tends to burn more. The conclusion to this is that instead of having me get the car and then pay him to do the work he was fair and honest and helped me save money.
