I chose Ron's for the professionalism and responsiveness despite the high cost. He came to the house to provide an estimate in writing which included insurance. They offer storage which I wasn't sure if I needed, but I liked having the option available. During the actual move, Ron wasn't there. I found the people working to be a bit slow. I tried to speed things up by moving lighter things closer to the door and asking questions. At one point one person complained about the number of boxes and made me feel uncomfortable. In the end, the move was completed in the estimated amount of time and cost and nothing was damaged. read more

Rude Ron's! We used Ron's in 2022 for a local, in state, move. We would never use them again! Nor recommended them to anyone then or now! Ron and his wife shockingly rude. His team arrived late, on purpose bec I kept emphasizing this was a FOUR (4) hour job when hiring, which rude Ron and his screaming wife, agreed Ron's does 4 hour, local jobs. Everything was packed/ready for them. No new supplies (like bubble) purchased or needed. Most stuff on 1st floor/garage to a 1st floor. Easy. Sunny out/ideal moving conditions. Move= less than 15 miles. We were extremely organized, ready for the agreed upon arrival time: 8:00 am. Estimated cost $745. They arrived at NINE am, began at 9 am--1 hour later than agreed! Key stuff was LEFT by them, in the garage. They had to drive back from Eastchester to other side of Westchester Cty, return. Ron & wife charged US for their mistake--and were unreachable by phone when sorting the bill. Except "forgetting" wasn't a mistake. It was deliberate because instead of paying for 8 am-12 noon (4 hrs), as discussed: we were charged 9-4:30 (7.5 hours--so yeah almost 2x as much). INCLUDING Ron charged us for their LUNCH (which the guys did not get paid for I guarantee). Suddenly the cost leapt to $1667. Because the movers themselves were polite, respectful, and worked hard (when they were working!), I tipped all of them generously $100, despite they broke 2 important items, beyond repair.Total probable cost was given by Ron himself as: $745. Wasn't I confused when I got the contract at 4:20 (with ending time at 4:30 ugh) was emmm $2,083. Yeah far cry from low ball $745. Rude, rip off, poor service. Many professional companies out there, who arrive on time, charge close to or exactly what the estimate is, polite, don't break things nor charge for lunch/drag out hourly charges. We booked Ron's Trucking for our office move and they TOTALLY screwed us over... would NEVER recommend them to anyone. Our move was scheduled for today - however, we received a call this morning, just hours before our big move, that they were cancelling the move due to weather. While we would be totally understanding with bad weather, THE WEATHER WAS FINE!!! It snowed over night maybe .5 inch in the city... the roads were TOTALLY clear and the move wasn't scheduled until 10 AM when there was 0% chance of snow left in NYC and the roads/sidewalks were completely cleaned. Our lease is up as of end of day tomorrow so we begged and pleaded with them to either come later in the day, if that made them feel better about the weather, asked them to come tomorrow, ANY compromise for them to come move us... all of which we got the answer of NO. Ron was very professional during the free estimate, quoting me a price and telling me to check out some other companies to make sure I get the best deal. I went with Ron's and scheduled the moving date. On the moving day there was a bit of a mix up with the paperwork and the crew had not arrived for the scheduled time. While I feared the worst for being able to go ahead with my move as planned, Ron did everything he could to make things right, getting another crew of 4 men together on the spot and sending the truck right away. Additionally, Ron offered a very generous discount to right the mistake, which was above and beyond what I was expecting. What can I say about this company? Absolutely nothing but great things! From the moment I knew I was going to move, I became franitc with having to choose from the numerous moving companies. A great friend from work suggested I call Ron to get an estimate-- so I did. I initiately spoke with Shakira who was courteous, patient, professional and oh so pleasant. We scheduled a day for Ron to come over and provide me with a free estimate. The price was pleasing to my ears and wallet!!! So now comes moving day! There were a total of 5 men- 4 to move items from apartment to truck and 1 to mind the truck (very important if you live in an apartment building). The professionalism that was demonstrated by these gentlemen (the movers) was superb! They completely made me feel at ease as they energetically took over. They made sure I was ok with everything they were taking from the apartment to the truck. Once we got to my new place they moved quickly. They asked where I wanted the boxes and furniture placed. They were polite when dealing with the superintendent and his porters. Company protocol is have the customer check the truck and verify that all items were removed as well as speak with Ron (the owner) to ensure that his guys provided everything that was essentially promised. Ron himself comes to the site to give estimate. He schedules 9-10 am. Pro: on-site estimate. Con: Ron showed up late: 10:15 am despite office is 10 minutes away. Made me late for work. Despite Ron's lateness & higher rate (easy move to 3 rooms: not much furniture, 1 small, upright piano only heavy object; not many steps either end; only 6 boxes; art; lamps; exc weather; short travel dist (7 miles), hired them. Pros: We wanted to hire minority owned & operated biz which this is. Ron made a point of asking what time we wanted movers to begin & telling me clock starts running "when movers arrive." We said 8:30 am. He agreed: 8:30 am. Called Friday before Mon move to confirm agreed upon time. Office: yes, 8:30 am! Cons: Monday morn, no one at the house at 8:50 am. Young man calls, head of crew, name unclear: "Running late/scheduling problems. Be there 9:00 or maybe 9:30 am." (Ron's Trucking has its trucks parked minutes from our former home). Arrived late: 9 am. Head of crew, Ron's son. No name tags. Pros: 3 crew, polite, respectful. Dressed in Ron's t-shirts. Clean truck. Cons: Son asked inappropriate, intrusive, irrelevant questions (like dad): how long have you lived here? Ages of my children etc. Let his subordinates tell me moving problems such as a minor break); a piece for bed left, by crew, in garage of home, we moved from. We had to drive it over (quicker than them driving to our house, getting it, driving back). This mistake dragged out the time they were getting paid (hrly rate $215). No apology from head of crew (others, yes). Blamed me, customer, when he/crew, misplaced screws for a dresser. Should have been a 5 hr move. Worst p[art. Bill misrepresentation. Bill presented by son, w/out crew present for 7 hr move & reads: 9 am start, in writing, on the receipt. But in fact, he verbally informs me, they charge from "load time." Customer is not supposed to pay for "load time" as "clock begins when movers arrive to the house," said owner Ron. I believe NY state law says "the clock begins" when the movers arrive (otherwise why not start charging the night before? Or better yet, two days before?). I clarified that the "clock begins when movers arrive at the house" over the phone after the on-site estimate from Ron, when he stated this. On the receipt, start time is 9 am but son claimed that I the customer, misunderstood (just like I was blamed for the lost screws to bed) and emphatically stated I was told Ron's charges hrly rate for loading which is not on the bill and that I "misunderstood. Nope. I was not told and nope I did not misunderstand. Be forewarned our bill directly conflicted with agreement." They also stopped for lunch, not part of the pre-arranged deal-- took 30 minutes off bill for a 45 minute delay. Maybe (?) a business is entitled to charge for "travel/loading time" but you are NOT entitled to write on the bill the day began at 9 am (when the "clock started"), to agree in advance that in advance and then change up the agreement at the end of the day of the move. Certainly not in NY state. I politely pointed out the misrepresentation on the bill--as I was writing the check for the extra amount, I/we paid in full. The young 21, yr old son had the audacity to argue w/customer. I then tipped all 4, inc Ron's son $100 cash. Pros: respectful crew of 3, thanked me for big tip on easy move. Cons: Ron's son took the $100 bill, turned his back, refused to shake my hand, did not apologize for the misrepresentation of the charges of the start time bill, the lateness, sudden pit stop for lunch, refusing to take responsibility for left bed piece, blaming me for misplaced screws and minor damages. Later, after we paid inc full and big tips for all 4, that night, Ron left a belligerent, hostile vm on our machine demanding I/we call him. Ron doesn't seem to understand the customer doesn't work for him. He works for the customer. He not only was paid in full, but I was over-charged yet still gave generous tips. We had another small move to do and decided against hiring Ron's. read more

I can't say enough how great Ron and his crew of six men were! Super responsive to begin with, especially since it took me over a month to schedule. Wrapped everything up and took it out very efficiently. Reassembled the bedrooms in the new location. They did everything with care. Super professional. They did not leave a mess. Turns out that with 2-3 days notice nobody else was even able to give me an estimate. Having said that, in the end I'm glad Rons was able to come through. They also gave us a good price. They were fast and efficient, they offered to move some additional small things within the estimate price. They checked everything for dings sand scratches before and after. They also asked us to check the truck (and the front seats) to show nothing was left behind. Under this premise I find it hard that things from other customers could have been lost or stolen. The price was great and Ron was so personable that I immediately accepted. I ended up changing my moving date to sooner than originally expected, and Shakira in their office was sweet & accommodating, despite my millions of questions. The day of the move, 3 men arrived at my apartment - Dante, Patrick, and I'm sorry to say I forgot the other guy's name (I didn't have much interaction with him). Both Dante & Patrick were fun and upbeat. All three men were efficient and careful with my items. Unfortunately, two small items were left behind in the truck, which I didn't realize until a few hours later. I called the office and whoever answered had Dante call me back immediately. Where do I begin, Ron Movers are amazing! They were very professional and courteous and had everything moved from my apartment to my new home in under four hours. I had a team of four guys and it felt like I was moving with friends. They made me feel very comfortable and had quite a few laughs during the move. Ron's Trucking Rocks! I had to move the contents of my law office from Yonkers to Scarsdale. I called Ron asking for his services and he came over the same day that I called. When he arrived, he was professional, courteous and prompt. We went room by room detailing the items I needed to move. Along the way, Ron explained how some furniture would be dismantled, wrapped and then reassembled at the new location. After his onsite review, he sat in my conference room and within a few minutes gave me a firm quote, which was very reasonable. A few days later, his crew, led by fabulous Will, arrived exactly on time and as promised. They immediately assessed the contents of the items I needed to move, created a game plan and began to execute. Will's crew worked fast, professionally and handled our furnishings with great care - wrapping everything in either blankets or shrink wrap film. After everything was loaded up, Will did one more look with me to make sure they took everything I needed to relocate. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Despite the positive reviews, I had a terrible experience. I moved from NY to DC in July 2014 and Ron's Trucking originally quoted me a price that was quite low. Having shopped around, I went with them as the price was right and they were highly recommended. Two days before my scheduled move I received a phone call from the company saying that they can no longer move my stuff on that day for the stated price. I was horrified and at my wits end as I was moving for a new job opportunity and had everything lined up within a certain time frame. I was then told that the reason it was originally be so inexpensive was that they were pairing my belongings with another person moving (I was not informed of this until after the fact) and if I wanted to move that day it would cost me $300 extra. At this point I was extremely angry and felt like they were trying to extort me for more money because they knew I had no other option. I had a very angry negotiation with Ron and ultimately decided to use this company. The actual move went alright but for one last thing- I tend to keep my Halloween costumes and have a whip from when I was Indiana Jones. The 2 men that moved my belongings thought it was funny and somehow appropriate to make jokes (of a sexual nature) about the whip when it fell out of one of the boxes, frankly making me feel very uncomfortable. I would never recommend this company to anyone as I had a terrible experience and felt so angry and upset with the way my business was handled. read more

Called Ron's in early August 2019 for a move later that month and the owner visited my 2 bedroom apartment for a free quote from Yonkers, NY to Manhattan. I passed by the lot and just cold-called because it was near my home. I called two other movers who quoted a similar price but were willing to negotiate. Called Ron's back and he met me at the lowest quoted rate. The three movers arrived early to seek out the best parking spot for the move. They did not allow me to touch anything- they needed very little from me since everything was packed and labeled when they got there. They did a quick walk-thru when they arrived and were familiar with what needed to be moved from the quote walk-thru. Truck was packed quickly and carefully. Met them at new place in Manhattan and they got everything unpacked and in its proper place and set up my bed after having to break it down. The owner called before the movers left to ensure everything was to my satisfaction (and his!) before I paid the balance. I tipped generously as the movers were efficient, professional and kind. Ron's trucking moved our stuff from White Plains to Briarcliff in February of this year. They were so professional from start to finish and were very polite to us and the apartment building staff. In total, I met Ron and about 5 other big name moving companies before finally deciding on Ron's Trucking. All the other guys had flashy ipads while Ron only had pen and paper, but Ron's reviews on Yelp were 10 times better than all the others. I'm so glad I chose Ron - I was not disappointed. Ron's moving, moved me on Dec. 9 th from Mount Vernon to Yonkers they broke a mirror, destroyed dishes and china damaged my recliner chair.I had boxes of baseball cards that were taped closed, every box was opened .I had certain cards that were in hard plastic covers to protect the edges of the cards some of them where missing; besides a couple of small boxes.When I called the company to notify them of my missing cardsI was hung up on.So beware , if you are going to use this company take pictures of your valuables, or you might be sorry like I am. read more

Ron's was a lot less expensive than other companies which would normally make me apprehensive, but the reviews were so strong I decided to give them a chance. Ron and his crew were all very courteous and professional and took great care with our things. We had a lot of framed posters, several pieces of antique furniture and many other fragile items, none of which sustained any damage during the move.
