Nope That was my careless tape job (spackle) where i was a bit to light with the spackle and the tape started to lift. Granular loss. So anyway the 3 quotes he gave were 67K, 54K and 43K He said he was not a hard sell guy, then less than 10 seconds later he says "Are you willing to commit today?" - Nope 3 local roofers came in at 15.3K-17K.

Three other "professional" roofing groups evaluated and the suggestions ranged from tearing down the wall and rebuilding, using caulk along the roof line, and another was rerouting a gutter. All first said "oh yeah, it's just a gutter cleaning" until I showed them that gutters weren't clogged and working just fine. The caulk guy was the most convincing, so I gave it a try - no change whatsoever. I was frustrated and losing hope. Moving on, I looked through Yelp for other roofers. I found one - Doyle, that for some reason stood out. I sent them a message and quickly received back a professional reply, asking when they could come out to evaluate. After some quick texts we set up a date. Afterwards I thought I should get more than one quote, so I used the Yelp "call for help" that sends out the request to (it seems) everyone in the world. [I will never use the Yelp random call for help thing again. I was text and phone bombed for three weeks after that. Not an exaggeration. Calls came in from all over the country - Texas, New York, Florida, Tennessee and more. I kept blocking numbers until it stopped - what a miserable experience! Even when I posted a public complaint one company just accelerated the calls and texts.] This is the first area Doyle stood out - that one initial contact via text (my preference) and some back and forth setting up the appointment. All done quickly and without being harassed. The polite professionalism and quick response put me right at ease. The owner, Sean, came onsite (on time and with text updates) and brought Tom, who did the evaluation. Tom was great - he explained in great detail the potential causes for the leak could be and pointed to an area where two sides came together. He said that a problem there was the most likely cause. He went up and looked around asked if I wanted to come up and see firsthand. I did and was blown away. He pointed to an area that clearly was suspect. The others had talked about everything but this area as the issue. Sean and Tom explained how they operate and what to expect (in clear detail). I had a few other requests unrelated to the leak and it was a quick "no problem, we can do that" and gave me a very reasonable price/estimate for it all on the spot. We arranged a convenient date. Sean send a contract electronically and I was able to sign remotely. Tom and another co-worker came on the date and time agreed on (a Sunday) actually a bit earlier than expected and immediately set up. Everything we agreed to was done. Tom kept me updated as to progress. Sean forwarded pictures on of the work that was completed - especially nice since some of the areas are impossible to see without climbing up to steep areas of the roof. Before they left Tom and his co-worker cleaned up everything - there was no mess or follow up I needed to do. All done with no surprises, no extra charges, and no BS. Several severe rainstorms later, not a leak, drip, or drop of water coming in. This truly was one of the best contractor experiences I've had. I only wish they did other home construction work!

I purchased an older home in 2017 and the siding did not look bad but 6 years later I noticed lots of problems. My biggest problem was it was always so cold in my home. I had a few windows replaced and the attic insulated but that did not really help. When the windows were replaced I noticed significant deterioration underneath the siding and asked the contractor about it. He told me it happens and replaced the windows but did not reframe them. I thought about selling my house to avoid dealing with the problems. I had three different companies give me an estimate for the siding. The first was way too expensive. The second company Cherry Roofing and Siding in Cherry Hill, gave me a competitive quote but were unable to do the job. . I later found out that the company is having internal problems and they are not doing a great job for many of their clients. I was very fortunate that they never touched my house. I almost gave up, but then I decided to use the Better Business Bureau. I found American Construction. They have an A+ rating. They are also located in Cherry Hill. When I called I was able to talk to one of the owners Gregg. I told him about my negative experiences with the other companies and he promised me nothing but integrity. Gregg kept his promise, his team was incredible. As I said earlier my house is old and had lots of deterioration underneath the siding and because the siding was poorly installed there was also some water damage. I expected the final price to be more than the original quote, but it was well worth it. American Construction replaced all of the damaged plywood, gave me new insulation , framed the windows and put on James Hardie siding. Not only did they restore my house, they were quick and professional. They started on Monday and by Thursday the project was finished. Friday they came back and cleaned up, placing all of my personal items back in their original spots. Doing something this major on your house can be very stressful and inconvenient. . American Construction took all my stress away and I did not suffer any inconvenience at all.. I feel like I have a brand new house. I feel so much better about living here now that I know what is going on underneath the siding. I have peace and joy about my home because of American Construction. He does all sorts of roofing, of course, but not all roofers are as good with slate as he is. He recently replaced the copper valley and adjacent slates in one of our roof valleys. It had developed a leak a few years previously from the original copper (1942) wearing through. When the leak first developed, he bought us some time by applying a sealant until we were ready to have him do the job. He can also do custom copper work for chimney caps and other things. He takes care of our gutters and has done some exterior painting for us, too. Nice trustworthy guy.
