Even simple questions, like whether they have towels, are met with a dismissive "I wasn't here yesterday." The front desk staff is either absent or completely unhelpful. The management lacks basic training in simple tasks like updating my credit card. I've spoken to management more than once in the past 90+ days. I was given their email to help with communication. Not surprisingly, the disappointing customer service begins at the top. Two weeks later, I still haven't received a response. Lifeguards appear inconsistent in enforcing rules. Some are so diligent that they engage in heated arguments with guests when their children splash or require an infant flotation device, while others are too preoccupied with sunbathing and playing on their phones to care.

The staff plays favorites, letting the swim team stay twenty to thirty minutes past their reservation time because the coach (and this is a direct quote from a staff member) is 'also an employee.' When we pointed out this approach poses an undue burden on the taxpaying public, which should have equal access to the pool during the hours the pool is open, we were mocked and asked to leave. My wife is six months pregnant and we are in the midst of a global pandemic. The staff's solution? Swim in a lane with six other people while the swim team monopolizes the other three. Reading through other comments, I see most negative reviews have to do with maintenance and hygiene issues. And yes, the locker room is filthy and the swimsuit wringer is broken. However, none of this would matter to me (although it is puzzling) if it weren't for the injustice and nepotism we experienced today as well as the complete lack of empathy by staff members. If the team is scheduled to get out at a certain time, that's what should happen. Instead, we experienced the kind of nepotism more congruent with an autocratic country than the U.S. I'm truly horrified and disappointed and will be complaining to DPR immediately.

There is only one "time slot" and it's all day. On the weekends, you need to arrive at least 15 min before your pool time (either 10am or 2:30pm), and snag loungers if you're GA. This year I discovered that if you have more than one guest, you have to book a sun lounger (the square poolside cushions) or daybeds, which both have a food and drink minimum (the lounger is $75 but they're not too strict). Food-wise I'd choose cobb salad, shrimp tacos (a bit spicy), or their guac.

The facilities are…read moregreat, I love how warm the kids pool is compared to the Long Bridge Aquatic center - me and toddler were shivering in the Long Bridge pool. The instructors for the APS swim classes really hit or miss compared to the county classes. We loved the first lady instructor, she always started classes on time and ended on time, knew what she wanted to do in the class, and had her songs with swimming movements ready. Last 2 sessions were with a gentleman instructor (who says he's been teaching swimming at APS for 15+ years) as the main instructor and recently he's been training this other lady and it's been so bad: 1. classes don't start on time half the time (one time started going around checking the kids in at the time class was supposed to start and that took 10 minutes, another time it's already time to start the class but instructor was standing around chatting for 5 minutes) and sometimes runs out of things to do class ended 5 min early 2. runs out of things to do in the class or don't know what songs to sing as we practice swimming movements and they start singing random songs or ask all the parents what song would you like to sing !!?? Could you do a little bit of prep beforehand or bring a cheatsheet into the pool so you know what to do next. Maybe it's the toddler class that's bad because kids are young... won't be doing the toddler class again here unless we get the first instructor back. Will wait for the class for older kids or go to county classes.

There are dedicated lanes for laps that are usually available and they have a baby pool with a shaded picnic area. They even have 4 grills and provide the propane for members to use. There is lots of shade in the late afternoon and early evenings. The swim team is very active for about 6 weeks, but otherwise, the deck can be very quiet and relaxing. They offer adult workouts for a small fee in the early mornings on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Adult only swim on Sunday morning from 9-11am. They offer fun events like family bingo, float nights and movies, food trucks and parties if you like to socialize. They even offer yoga on the deck some Sunday mornings. Lots of families with kids and the members are all very friendly. Membership fee includes the entire family in your house, and even allows you to bring your Nanny to watch the kids during the day if you work.
