There are also woolen goods for purchase, like hats, socks and mittens. I enjoyed checking everything out while Brenda brought the comforter out for us. We've had the comforter for nearly a month and I love it! It's lofty and squishy and perfectly keeps the temperature comfortable without feeling like a ton o'blanket. Now, I was told by Lesa, my sales lady, that this warranty would cover everything, even sitting on the furniture with a knife in my pocket and cutting the furniture by accident. It was delivered in Nov of 2013. By late 2014/early 2015 the recliner started showing some cracking at the head of the back. By April 2016 I contacted Rooms and Rest and told them if my concerns. Natasha, the Customer Care Manager, had me call Montage Furniture Services, the company that offers the Protection Plan, which by the way cost $269.99. I was told that the protection doesn't cover the sort of damage that I was experiencing. So no one wants to claim responsibility. To me this is not normal wear and tear. This is a defect in a product that should be sustainable. The arms and seat of the chair are PERFECT, but the head, that is used way less, is the place that suffered the cracking and subsequently the shedding of leather. We have to put a towel up there when sitting in the chair unless we want to walk around with pieces of leather in our hair and on our clothes. I don't know what I'll get from this post and correct me if you think I am out of line. Actually don't. I'm so p@&#ed about the whole thing, I may chew you a new one. At the very least a PSA to all of you to beware of warranty and sales terms. Especially from #RoomsAndRest and #MontageFurnitureServices I won't be making any more purchases from them anytime in my lifetime.

I went to the Riverside Thrift Shop today. Apparently, it opened only a few months ago. Being fresh and new, by all rights, they should be totally on top of their game. 1) The main problem is it's too darn small. It's little more than one small narrow room. (I think my living room at home is bigger than this store!) As a result, there isn't much inventory...mostly garage sale type stuff...not enough to pick through and find something you might like. There's a HUGE warehouse in back of this building. If THAT was part of the store and filled with stuff too, you'd really have something great. But that's not the case. 2) The dude running the shop ignored us, never smiled, never spoke, and he was completely devoid of any customer service skills whatsoever. Not cool. This definitely sealed the deal and made me not want to ever walk through the door again. There always seems to be at least one crazy person shopping at every thrift store I go to, even a super small one like Riverside. Indeed, I came across one. There was a wild eyed lady buying a dozen ceramic ducks. Despite the sparse inventory, this woman had managed to locate every duck on the premises. There is a cool little reading nook that I really appreciate it and they have a good furniture selection as well as plenty of shelves to see all the different glassware and things like that. All things considered the stores pretty well organized and I will definitely be going back here again soon if I can. Their books are SO ORGANIZED. Love this spot.

But When the big box store doesn't have what I need, these guys do. I needed special hardware (hardware is like nuts and bolts) and these guys were the only ones in town who had it. On another occasion I was looking for a vest with a hood, these guys were the last place I went(obviously as they had what I wanted) I went to Tractor Supply, Menards, Home Depot, and Mills Fleet Farm and none of them had what I was looking for. Yes I could of ordered it online but would rather not. I purchased bibs, a winter work coat, boots(once and never again, my work gives me a slip to buy boots) fleece lined jeans. Ect. I buy a ton of stuff from these guys and if you can work through their hours, I fully recommend shopping there too.

This store is okay, I'd call them average - 3 stars. I wouldn't make a special trip but if I lived in the area, I'd probably drop in once in a while. The only thing that could bump them up, in my opinion, would be if they were a lot bigger and if they had a lot more stuff. They do a lot with the space they have. Everything is well lit, displayed well, and there's a nice variety of items. The staff member I spoke with was very friendly and helpful. The prices seem super reasonable.
