Did a Rooms To Go delivery driver damage your property? Let me break this process down to save you time and frustration. Rooms To Go (RTG) contracts a company called SEIDS for delivery. SEIDS, in turn, hires careless third-party contractors to facilitate the deliveries. When these contractors damage your property--and they almost certainly will--Rooms To Go will pass you off to SEIDS to file a claim (the fine print in your RTG contract states that you cannot hold them liable for property damage). SEIDS then proceeds to lowball and delay for weeks or months until you get frustrated and give up, all while reminding you repeatedly that the driver is an independent contractor and solely responsible for any damage caused. Basically, two multimillion-dollar companies, with all their assets and infrastructure, choose to pit working-class people against each other rather than doing the right thing--which would be to treat property damage as part of their operating expenses. Corporate cowardice at its finest. DO NOT sign off on your furniture delivery until you've inspected all of your property--walkways, stairwells, walls, etc. The moment you find damage, you need to file a claim with RTG and IMMEDIATELY start reaching out to licensed contractors. Per SEIDS, you must provide two (2) quotes, and they must be on business letterhead, itemized, and detailed for repair of the damaged area only to be considered valid. A few years ago, my wife and I went to rooms to go and purchased a leather sofa and loveseat. The delivery went well and the furniture was high-quality. So we decided to go back yesterday to just look around because we're looking at bedroom sets. We went in the store And immediately a sales person rushes us and asked if we needed help and we said we are just looking we don't need any help. She proceeded to stalk us through the store, completely shadowing us! We even turned and told her we did not need her help and if we had any questions we would come to her. We turned around and started walking and looking again, and she immediately started shadowing us almost on top of us. So we started to leave, but I decided to go talk to a manager and she followed us (nearly on top of us) all the way across the store to go talk to a manager! It was blatant harassment! m wife and I left the store very angry and with anxiety feeling harassed. We came here because of a at home mail flyer. They had a really good deal on a dining room set and the best part, it is really unique and stands out. When we arrived, we were greeted right away. Brian, let us know they did have the set we were looking for and showed us to it. Offered help and then left us to sit, talk and see if we wanted to take it or not. We decided on it. It is comfortable and looks really nice. The next part, the price. The flyer, had a different price than showroom. However, it was our fault because the date had ended but we still asked if anything could be done considering we wanted the set. He went and asked the manager. While waiting, we changed our mind as far as the pieces... he came back and the price was approved! Very happy with the customer service. We got 5 pieces, 3 year service and delivery. First, Gabriella at the Durham store helpdesk is absolutely rude and nasty; has been my experience on different encounters. My main dissatisfaction is with the manufacturers who did a lazy job with some parts of the furniture. The ottoman doesn't have a case that comes off to be washed. The throw pillows don't have the fillers sealed off from the cover which means you can't watch the pilIow covers without dumping out the fillers and thus ruining the pillow. Delivery service was questionable as there was no clear communication on what time exactly my furniture would arrive which caused a lot of misunderstanding. Okay, this will be a mixed review due to our recent experience. We purchased four dining room chairs in April and was told we wouldn't get them until June. Okay, I understand there are supply chain issues all over the world so we'll cut them some slack. Leading up to the delivery, we got several texts and emails giving us a window for the delivery. We weren't impressed when the crew showed up late -- later than the scheduled time. And then the worker pulls out a chair that wasn't what we ordered. He looked in the truck and finally found our order of four chairs. They are built well but every single one of them had tiny scratches, discoloration, etc. In the truck, they were not in any package whatsoever; the workers just pulled out four chair with no box, padding, etc. We like the look and feel of the chairs and they appear solidly built. But the purchasing and delivery experience were less than ideal. read more

Then we were offered a refund we never got by the sales associate and then was told she no longer worked there and I would have to call customer service. They refused to let me talk to the manager. I bought $4,700.00 worth of furniture, plus extended warranty from Rooms To Go, 4144 CHAPEL HILL BLVD, Ste A, Durham, NC 27707 in July of 2019. A few months ago I started to notice that the arm rest (on all 3) of the chairs had dips or sagging spots in them. These sagging spots are uncomfortable because you are able to feel the wires and the wood frame underneath the fabric. I also, noticed that when you sit in the chair ottoman, you literally sink down because there is no more support and the frame has given away. I called RTG on November 11, 2020 and was instructed by their customer service that I needed to file a claim with Guardian Protection Products, Inc. I called Guardian Protection Products, Inc. and, notified them of the condition of my furniture and my concerns. They told me that I had "30 days to take pictures and send to them." On November 11, 2020 (same day), I received a denial of my claims from Guardian Protection Product. Guardian Protection Product literally wrote "You will need to hire someone at your own expense to reupholster your furniture." Furniture that is less than 1.5 years old should not have to be reupholster and I should not be feeling the frame through my furniture fabric. I never, even got the chance to send in the pictures, as I was DENIED almost immediately. I then called, Rooms To Go, was placed on hold for 45 minutes, only to be told that they only guarantee their furniture for ONE YEAR and that there was nothing they could do to help me! I promise this was not disclosed to me when I purchased from them. They were so helpful at the time of purchase. This is because, they literally were only concerned about the sale and selling of a useless Protection Plan and poor quality furniture. I am very upset because, I feel like I was SCAMMED into buying worthless furniture and a worthless protection plan. This is predatory practice, as the company Rooms To Go is aware that their product will breakdown very quickly with normal wear and tear. Rooms To Go, then upsells you a protection planned that helps line theirs and Guardian Protection Products pockets. This protection plan WILL NOT provide protection to the consumer. It is unconscionable to think that a family will have to buy new furniture every year!! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, if you are a family of any size or someone who plans on actually sitting on your furniture, DO NOT BUY FROM ROOMS TO GO!!! DO NOT GET THE PROTECTION PLAN!!! YOU WILL BE LEFT WITH PAYING DOUBLE FOR IT!! You will have to find someone to fix it for you. Please check the reviews and the Better Business Bureau. I have done business with the Glenwood Rooms To Go store in the past. We were looking for bar stools, happened to be by this store. We walked in the store and it seemed we had the plague . The clerks looked at us and went the other way. Not one person greeted us or offered us any assistance. I managed to make a complete showroom walk around without one person greeting me . My wife wanted a new sofa. As a minister, she meets with a lot of couples wanting to marry. All on a couch going on 13 years old. (JUST when I'd broken it in right.) That said, we ambled into RTG on New Year's Day. There were three salespersons chatting amiably while sitting on the merchandise. The one whose turn it was got up to greet us. (Sound familiar? Yeah, I was waiting for the carpet-bomb sales pitch. Wouldn't you?) She was attentive. She listened to my wife, and directed us to where our needs might be filled. By the time we got to the third couch (each quite different from the other), we needed some "chat time." She gave it to us, very discretely... making excuses about having to do something or another. She was easy to find when we'd made up our minds; she was able to answer all of our questions, and volunteered quite a bit of useful stuff I hadn't thought to ask. She apologized for not being able to deliver the sofa any earlier than X, despite that being WELL within our window of need. She gave us a few bottles of fabric cleaner, gratis. She treated us as if... well, as if she'd been our daughter, and really wanted to take good care of us. Oh, and it was all on sale. Wow. read more

Just got home from Rooms to go. I went to look at chairs for my bedroom and also to purchase the bogo $100 gift card as advertised in the flyer. I presented my coupon and was told that they were "out of the gift cards" and No, they wouldn't give me a rain check! Spoke with the manager who basically told me I shouldn't expect to be able to get this so late in the day. The coupon says from 9am-9pm and I was there at 8:30 pm. Interacted with the chat for 10 minutes, answering several questions, before being directed to call the phone number I had already called. Wife and I made a purchase last week through Acceptance Now and provided them with a delivery date for March 12. Wife calls today to confirm delivery address and was told by someone on their customer service center that there was no delivery, that it was cancelled! Wife was upset and wanted to get more i formation on who and why it was cancelled and they didnt know why. We decided to drive to the store where we purchased it and asked for the manager ( Sean/Shaun ) who apparently knew who we were and told us that he also didnt know why someone had cancelled the order and that there was nothing that they could do but deliver it until monday. I was furious, because no one had emailed us of a cancellation, no effort in helping us out but just say that they understand! I told the manager that I needed more to be done vecause Monday delivery was not going to work since we had already shifted our work schedule around to be available on the 12th. As a store manager myself I would have customers with similar problems as me and I would literally do everything I could to make them happy, whether it was an additional discount for the inconvenience or even have it delivered myself in my own vehicle. The point is I WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND to keep the sale and provide EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE and that is what we didnt get from them. I purchased a "leather" recliner from rooms to go. It was on sale for a $1000. I could not pick it up because there's a mandatory delivery charge. Very shortly after my purchase the recliner started shedding, only the armrests are leather the rest of it is not even vinyl, it's synthetic vinyl sprayed on to a fabric . The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is only because of a salesman named Wayne. I never felt rushed or pressured into buying anything, and he was always looking for the best way to save me some money. He pretty much let me take as much time as I needed to find the furniture I was looking for and was always close by if I needed some assistance. As always, a few things went wrong with the selling process and he seemed to genuinely be upset about it, (If it was an act then please nominate this man for an oscar). Now, the reason why this place should only be a 1 star review is because what I believed to the be the management or the upper level salesman, were all douchebags for lack of a better word. They had this elitist mentality to them that gave off the impression that they were on top of the world and that they were the pinnacle of humankind. Just a quick PSA, you are a salesman at a Rooms to Go in North Carolina. You're not some great scientist who just discovered how to cure cancer, nor are you a self made millionaire entrepreneur actively bettering the lives of all humankind. As harsh as that might sound, I do hope it instills a bit of a dose of reality. Your job doesn't make you any better than anyone else and compassion for others should always be a top priority. Just received my couch today, sitting on it as I write this review. :-) I was very nervous to buy a couch from Rooms To Go considering all the negative reviews. Our experience was the complete opposite of the reviews. 1) Sales Team - Corrie gave us a warm greeting when we arrived and pointed us in the right direction to look at leather reclining couches. We were in the store probably 3 hours over two visits. She came by a few times to see if we needed help which was great. We were never harassed by sales pitches. A very comfortable experience 2) Delivery - Our delivery was set for sometime between 8-12. Corrie explained that there are multiple deliveries in the area on any given day, so they never know an exact time. Couch delivered at 8:00 on the dot. They were out of our house by 8:07. We got a follow up phone call at 8:15 to make sure we were happy with everything. Honestly, haven't had this smooth of an experience in a long time! I got an email about a sale and saw that this store had the floor model of the bed that I was interested in. I drove 45 minutes to this store even though I live closer to the Raleigh store. The Raleigh store didn't have it. I walked in and no one greeted me. I walked around for 5 minutes until I found the bed. I fell in love. I stood there by the bed looking for a salesman for around 15 minutes. I made eye contact with several people who worked there and was ignored by all. I finally walked out. There was a larger white middle aged man sitting at a table at the front of the store playing on his phone and didn't even look up to say anything to me. I have never experienced such poor customer service in my life! I went to Ashley furniture afterwards in Cary and bought an even better bedroom set. They were friendly and more than happy to help me. Just came back from buying two beds and two mattress sets. Had a wonderful experience. Aaron was knowledgeable, professional and incredibly nice. He got up the minute we entered the store and walked me patiently through all of my options. Moving and spending bunches of money at once are not two of my favorite things to do, and Aaron made it a totally enjoyable experience. We were greeted by a very friendly salesman when we entered and then left alone, which is what I prefer. Cannot stand being followed around while I shop.
