The area is an extraordinary place to stake out for a day, or a few days. The ample, spacious and well equipped lodges and main house offer abundant and fun activities for couples, families and kids! They were so kind and did all the tricks to see why nothing was coming out. We did the toilet fill and flush, we stuck a hose down there too. It wasn't until they crawled under the Indie camper and found a SECOND black tank pull. Thank goodness because if I returned it full Indie camper rental would charge me over $380 to dump the black tank.

The front desk clerk left at 5 pm, so we were quite concerned our key would not let us back in the hotel after dinner. Thank goodness it did, because the keys didn't work the next mornin, and I would have been locked outa my room. Our room was not cleaned. We only had one towel. Sheets were stained. No toiletries. Not even soap! When I asked Audrey for soap, shampoo and conditioner and towels, I just got one towel, and no just conditioner. Audrey said they had no conditioner, and had no "bar" soap, and then she handed me a partially-used, already opened travel-size liquid facial cleanser. There were two rat/mouse traps positioned under my bedside table. Not a great feeling. The shelf in the shower was broken off and missing. The TV and continental breakfast were a complete waste of time. The leather sofas in the lobby were cracked and worn, and looked like they had sat outside in the sun all summer. Too bad. They made an effort to refurbish the place, but didn't hire the right people to look after it. Sad story and a waste of my money. BUYER BEWARE!

I made sure to ask questions, so I knew there was no mini fridge or microwave in the room and brought my own cooler. They were great about supplying ice for it. HOWEVER, there was no tea room, bar (the signs on the door say "Tea room and Bar") or meal service other than a "continental" breakfast. It was 1 bagel, 1 muffin and 2 slices of bread in a baggie. There was coffee, OJ and cranberry juice, no fruit, no breakfast sandwiches, nothing of note for the hype. I've had better at cheaper places. On the website we say pictures of table settings, a professional kitchen and even pictures of the food. Then when I saw that I was disappointed that we were paying over 200$ a night and couldn't even get a working TV. The front door locks in the late afternoon so you're expected to enter and exit through the back door. That's $425 and a whole weekend I'll never get back. To top it off, it was our anniversary.

We brought our fishing boat & there was plenty of room for our boat, trailer & truck in all parking lots. We paid for a dock slip too which was handy. We stayed in the hotel, one of the full kitchen/double queen rooms that faced the lake. The room was clean, beds were very comfy, they brought extra pillows when we asked & plenty of hot water. We ate at the restaurant 3 times and the food was great & servers were very nice! The little store has most things you might forget at home. The 4 stars is for a few things: there are no coffee mugs in the kitchen, no pans for the oven, they don't answer the phone, they only sometimes answer the texts, there is almost no cutlery in the kitchen, the towels are very rough, no paper products except toilet paper and when you book you don't know any of these things because amenities aren't included in the room description or website. And you can't ask ahead because they don't answer the phone. Some others items to note for planning purposes: the coffee maker is a 4 cup maker, the dock doesn't have power and there is no toaster. Bring all items with you as if you're camping. I've included some photos of what IS in the kitchen. That being said, we had a great time and I'll definitely be back!

I'll say the good before the bad, the site has a lot of options for views, boats and water activities you can rent out. They were flexible with our booking of a boat as our animals were struggling with the heat and trailer wasn't cooling fast so we planned to leave the next day around noon instead of being on the boat all day. It's quite secluded in the Superstition Mountains and the views of the Cacti Mountains and salt river are just lovely!!! There's lots of access to the water and they do have a restaurant bar and a convenience store that's open till 8 I believe. They allow animals too which is awesome. Now for the tougher aspects that made us never want to come back. The staff were so rude, most of our interactions left us frustrated minus a few. The "grocery store" was subpar and more of a convenience store with nothing we could utilize to make a meal. Before we arrived we called for two days straight with no answer text back or anything they finally picked up on our final try as we are less than 20 minutes from 88 and trying to double check we were headed for the right road, only to be sassed by the employees and told yeah it is after a round about confusing conversation that wasn't entirely helpful not clear to the majority of our group and it was also treated as if it where a stupid question. To me if you are dealing with tourist (which we were) be understanding and remember that not everyone has been here before. What we learned? Route 88 IS PAVED but is entirely switch back turns so be warned if you're hauling anything which is fine but not something we were warned of or made aware of nor could we identify such till we where already at the road and incapable of turning around with our trailer (NOT A TURN AROUND FRIENDLY ROAD until the marina) and it is a thin road. The whole way via 88 IS PAVED but you have to come from somewhere North like Payson. If you come from Pheonix it's supposedly a dirt road so be warned we didn't take it as we had animals new to the road tripping and a trailer we were not taking on a 4X4 road so unsure how true this information is or isn't! Just want others to feel more informed than we did going into it. The best part are the boat renters and helpers on the dock who had the best attitude. Not a bad site and if you're not from AZ here's some need to know info.

This little gem in Young, AZ is complete with unique & cozy accommodations with amazing views and, of course, Robin and Karla. My boyfriend and I were invited by a good friend & there were 7 of us total. No particular agenda or specific plans were made for this little trip, but we were plenty occupied and engaged the entire time. We stayed in the Saloon/Guesthouse (which Robin built, by the way!) and it was plenty of space for everyone. Upon arriving Saturday morning, we met Robin & Karla and proceeded to unload our vehicles. After that, we spend some time observing their horses and soaking in the beautiful weather. Robin & Karla were filling us in on some of the history of the area. I could listen to them talk for DAYS. They're such great storytellers and their passion for digging into the past in an effort to preserve it is really admirable. After about a hour or so, Robin took us out into the woods.. Not sure exactly where we went, but he hopped on his quad and we followed behind (caravan of SUVs & pickup trucks). The road was windy and bumpy and we got some weird looks from the cattle as we blazed passed. We spent a few hours hiking down to some water while Robin filled us in on more history. Some of us panned for gold, others explored the area (found an abandoned mine) or fired some rounds nearby. It was a nice, relaxing morning. We went back to the Inn around 130p and Robin started showing us how to rope. A couple of us gave it a shot.. I didn't. I just stood back & took photos :) Then around 330p, we went up the road to a winery for a tasting (Bruzzi Vineyard.. I'll review separately). We returned a couple hours later with several bottles of wine and started cooking/grilling dinner. Robin & Karla joined us for dinner and conversation in the saloon. We played pool & had a very relaxing evening. Sunday morning didn't really have much on the agenda. After breakfast, Robin & Karla took us up the road to the Hogland General Store and gave us a tour of the structures on the land. Again, more information about the history and the people that lived in Young years ago. It was all very interesting. We will definitely be back & hope to have time for a longer stay.

It was a very positive experience. Holly owns this huge historic house, and she renovated it. We met Holly but had more contact with Noa. Noa's partner is Holly's cousin. Each morning Noa cooked us delicious full breakfasts. The breakfasts had quiche/frittata/flatbread made with eggs and veggies. One day we also had blueberry muffins and English muffins. There was fresh fruit salad. The breakfasts more than enough to satisfy our appetites. Noa is an excellent creative cook. See attached photos. The first morning we had breakfast in a delightful breakfast room with windows on three sides. We looked out onto lovely lush vegetation. We had our choice of coffee or various kinds of tea. I loved sitting in this room. We would arrive early, drink coffee and read the newspaper before Noa arrived to make breakfast. The next morning we had breakfast at a very large wood dining room table that could easily have sat 20 people. This room had French doors that opened into a patio with tables and chairs. When we were there a small wedding party was taking photos on one of the outdoor patios. There are additional common spaces. There was a sitting room with chairs and books on the same ground floor as the sunny breakfast room, dining room, and kitchen. There is also a small lobby one floor up on street level next to the front door. (The building is on a hill). One afternoon we went back to the sunny cheerful breakfast room and sat there to read. The on-the-street parking is free, safe and easy to obtain. The bed and breakfast is very conveniently located on a quiet street on a small hill about two blocks from downtown. For dinner we walked to the restaurants downtown on the main street. We conveniently arrived on a First Friday of the month. There was a small celebration a couple blocks away on main street. There was a band in the afternoon or early evening (which we missed) and some craft vendors and at least one food vendor. We bought some cookies there. Every guest room in this bed and breakfast is different. Our room and my sister-in-law's room were on the second floor near eachother. There were two staircases to reach the second floor, and a quaint little sitting area in between. The decor in our room was cute. Our room had two comfortable double beds. One bed had a bedside table with a foot high reading lamp. Due to space limitations the other bed did not have a bedside table or bedside reading lamp. There was a small chandelier over that bed. The room had good lighting. However, I would have liked a bedside lamp so I could read at night without disturbing my husband. Our bathroom was huge. It had both a shower and a claw foot tub. There was a sink in the bathroom and another small sink in the bedroom. We used the tub for storage. During our visit there was no ice available that I could find. The kitchen fridge had a water dispenser but the ice dispenser was broken when we visited. An appliance repair person was planned. Our room and my sister-in-law's room had individual wall air conditioners. We had the Amethyst room. We put a few sodas in the kitchen refrigerator since our room did not have a mini fridge. Management did not complain that we took up a little space in that fridge. When we eventually return to Globe, I would like to stay here.
