I splurged and purchased an obscure Helleborus Snowfever plant. It is a variegated variety of "Christmas Rose" (NOT a true rose). I enjoyed talking to an older gentleman (about my age) who works there. We talked about fishing, coastal life (since I lived in Mendocino for 16 yrs), and this gem of a store. I highly recommend a stop here. It is on the right hand side just entering town while coming in from the North going South! I really love this store and can not say enough good about it!

It was moist day when we visited, and the mosquitoes were annoying, but that's part of the territory. It was a beautiful space to explore, and the walking pathways were also some good exercise for us old folks (around 50, ahem). But the beauty was nice, with plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the views when needed. We even bought some merch at the small little gateway "store" to support the cause. Updating a little because I want to commend the staff at Dazey's supply. At my most recent venture…read morethere, a month or so ago, I needed some very large but very inexpensive pots for potting on some of my baby trees. I asked a young man who was on his third work day there for help and he proceeded to climb high up onto a rather perilous structure to get me my requisite 5 gallon containers, and later helped me with the potting soil. I'm sure it's kind of rare to have someone buying only 4 containers and 4 bags of soil (plus plants) but the guy was wonderful. Dazeys continues to carry an assortment of interesting plants, though at the end of the season when I shopped the selection was a bit thin. Most of the pretty interior space has now been devoted to grow supplies for the cash crop of our region. Was I shocked? no. But I was saddened. I like the pretty, what can I say?
