Was on the way to colonel Sandro's museum and saw this place local place. I almost missed it. There's no sign but packed with all the locals. It's an old drive up restaurant where the ladies come out and take your orders fast and efficiently. Menu everything under $5. The food was. Old school nothing really to brag about. But efficient and fills you up.

This was my first time eating here. You pull up and someone comes to the car to take the order. I ordered a footlong hotdog with onion rings and I of course had to get a root beer float. Price was reasonable. The footlong was delicious and so was the root beer float. I really liked it and the waitress was very friendly. Would definitely recommend.

K and I are obsessed with drive ins. Since were camping in the area we decided to stop by. Keep in mind we're 3 months into covid so I am sure that we didn't get a precovid feel. We pulled up to the building which was packed! A member of the waitstaff came out took our orders. She was very nice, quick to come over and answered our questions. K ordered 2 hotdogs with chili and cheese. I got a Dixie burger and fried to share. We took them to go and at them at the campground. Delicious! The Dixie burger hit the spot. And the chili dogs were delicious. I would highly recommend a stop by to pick up some classic grub!

My husband and I loved this. If you like, small town mom and pop, your grandparents ate here/all the high school students do too/it's cheap, then you'll love this place!!! We ordered cheeseburger, fries, onion rings and the chuck wagon. The cheeseburger amazing real meat and excellent homemade burger. The chuckwagon they said was a steak sandwich but it was a country fried steak sandwich. Really if you've ever been to a Texas DQ And ordered a dude sandwich, that's this......I love them so my husband and I swapped. The onion rings were like Sonic but fried longer and way better. We really liked this place.

Yummy yummy yummy root beer floats here - no surprise for a small town drive in. When we stopped by it was so busy we had to park off to the side. But a server was quick to stop by to get our order. The root beer is made in house and falls on the sweet, not barky, end of the root beer flavor spectrum. The vanilla ice cream isn't overly sweet either, making it a perfect match. It was crusty on the outside with root beer ice flecks. Delish!!!

Double lines waiting for the best food around.

I've been eating at the Root Beer Stand in Corbin since I was a teenager. I'm now in my mid 50's. It ALWAYS been a great place to eat but it's usually extremely busy too! So be patient. It's some of the best Burgers, Footlongs, Fries and Onion rings that you will find Anywhere! I lived in Ohio for 15 years and now in Tennessee but when I'm back home in Corbin I have to eat here! When I'm not, I miss it terribly! Great food!!

The facility is filthy and the food isn't anything special. Usually get sick after eating here.

Great place to eat. Only bad thing is they are closed in winter. Love the Dixie burgers and chili buns and fries

I agree with the others. The quality has went down over the years. Good onion rings and the best root beer if you drink it there.

Favorite place to eat in Corbin. I could eat here everyday. Best burger & fries with an amazing root beer on the side.

Over-hyped and terrible food. Would not recommend at all. Made me sick every time I ate there.

OMG, why would people stand in line for this crap. The burger was dry. Fries tasted the same as Walmart fries. Onion rings were burnt.

You can walk inside to a small counter with just a handful of tables, where everything feels warm, familiar, and unchanged. The regulars swear by the juicy double cheeseburgers, big footlong chili dogs, and some of the best coleslaw you'll find anywhere. They have a good line of milkshakes either, especially the butterscotch shake. The place fills up fast, and most of the customers there we saw did not even need a menu because they already know what they want. That is not the case for us, as we were just paying thru the area. But this is the kind of diner where the food tastes the same as it did years ago, time seems to slow down, and you're treated like family the second you show up. We both went with the Double Cheese burger with all the topping expect the chili one. The onions on these burgers were an outstanding. I could have ate a whole cup of them by their self. My wife had a large onion rings for her side, while I opted for the large curl fries. My wife noted that the onion ring were breaded correctly and the onion did not slide out of the breading when you bite in to them, the curly fries were also firm and just the right amount of crispness. The service is attentive and makes you feel like you are a regular, and expressed a fine example of true southern hospitality. This place is good choice for a solid quick and traditional meal with a very laid back environment that is very welcoming. If you are in the area we highly recommend that you give this place a try.
