Forager Panini - portobello mushroom, roasted red pepper, arugula with chips and a pickle

We love everything about Root to Rise Wellness. The food is amazing, freshly prepared in house, organic ingredients, gluten free. Friendly staff, beautiful interior, calm and soothing. Cold pressed juices are amazing. We also had several of the salads - Thai Peanut Buddha Bowl, Honey Berry Bowl and Yogi's Tour of Tuscany; they are all amazing and big portions enough for two people. Loved everything we had here. My husband beat a cancer diagnosis 3 1/2 years ago eating this way and juicing. We are very thankful to have found Root to Rise while vacationing in the area. We highly recommend!

Cute, clean, and good coffee. They offer a variety of healthy options as well. Staff seemed friendly. Would recommend stopping in, as the coffee didn't have the burnt flavor you encounter at a lot of places.

I don't think this place is open anymore so be aware if you go there, no lights on, no seating around and it said open on the website

Very disappointing…read more We have a cottage on the islands and yesterday we had some time available before our ferry so we stopped in to take advantage of their early happy hour (3-6) as we've been there before and enjoyed it. Not this time. It was about two minutes to 3 when we sat at the bar (nobody else at the bar but us) and asked for a menu. The bartender (male) gave us dinner menus so we asked could we please have the lunch menus. He looked at his watch and said "I guess so" and gave them to us. We then asked for the happy hour menu and again, he looked at his watch , decided it was ok, then gave them to us. Not an awesome start but no biggie. We ordered the happy hour calamari, and for lunch I had the perch sandwich with chips and wife got the luncheon steak filet. First the good news. Service was good, food came out quickly and my wife said her steak (while a bit pricey at $35 for a small filet) was excellent as were the green beans that came with it. Now the bad. The calamari was severely over-fried and basically tasteless. My wife asked me "do you taste anything?" and candidly, I didn't. Just the dipping sauce. My perch was equally flavorless, all I tasted was bread. Same goes for the 1/2 baked potato that came with the steak. That looked and tasted exactly like a microwaved potato someone sprinkled a bit of shredded cheese on. Very, very bland. And the homemade chips that came with the perch were the saltiest things ever salted. I couldn't eat them at all, had about three (they looked great) and realized my sodium level would spike off the charts if I ate any more. With two drinks (a happy hour beer & Tito's) the bill with tip was $100 and we couldn't taste the calamari, the perch or the potato and couldn't eat the chips. Insert "not great Bob" animated gif.

As a Pescetarian in Northeast Ohio I have meaning to try Jolly Roger Seafood House for a while,…read morewell I finally got there and the big question is why I waited so long. Jolly Roger is located in Port Clinton right on Lake Erie; I was expecting something ordinary or just a bit dated and boy was I wrong. The building is very modern and clean from the outside, white and angular with big windows. Inside white walls, rough hewn wooden tables and just the right amount of decor makes for a modern seaside feel, casual but also classy. The setup is fast casual, you order and pay up front at the counter, get a number for your table and then get your own drink at the service station. The menu is understandably very heavy on fish and seafood with a couple of other items. While there are the expected fried fish meals, but also oysters, shrimp and salmon, salads and even some tacos. The reason I came was of course for the fried fish, I decided on the Perch and Chips, which is $18. I grabbed some water, hot sauce and lemon and settled onto a table. The meal was brought out fresh and hot by a food runner in a couple of minutes. The meal was 4 nice sized perch fillets on top of a generous portion of fresh waffle fried potatoes with a side of tarter sauce. The fish were excellent, fresh and perfectly fried with a nice crispy cornmeal crust around the delicately fish; moist with a slight sweetness and perfect texture. The waffle fries were exceptional, fried to a crisp outside and tasty inside; usually fries at a seafood place are an afterthought, here they actually are well worth getting and eating. Even the tarter sauce was very nice, nothing special but creamy with a nice pickle contrast to add a little extra flavor. Usually when I see a place that has been around this long and has great reviews I am a bit let down when I give them a try; Jolly Rogers Seafood House exceeded my expectations in almost every way. Although set up as a fast casual restaurant with a typical fried seafood menu, the actual restaurant feels more upscale and modern with a great inside and a very nice patio looking out onto Lake Erie. The food is not cutting edge, but it is expertly prepared and delicious. Prices are moderate with large portions for your money. Some of the best fried perch and waffle fries I have had. I will be back any time I am in the area, a very high recommendation as long as you are looking for fish or seafood, go and enjoy.

Really, really good food! The Perch was some of the best I've ever had. Mushrooms were great too…read more The only knock I have is the waffle fries were like warm. I LOVE waffle fries, but they have to be hot. It was also nice to see they had a selection of beers. Food came out fast. I would not hesitate to return.

Atmosphere inside is unique and classy. This location even has an adorable outside dining venue. Your restaurant is lucky to have an exceptional employee like Reese. One comment would be to soak the ladyfingers so much more for a better balance in the Tarimisu. Otherwise amazing! Thank you!

A couple of us requested our house salad to only have romaine as the spring mix used can be bitter, also no shaved carrot and no canned red pepper. We requested cucumber and cherry tomatoes instead. Simple request right? Salads each had 1 slice of cucumber, cut in half, 2 cherry tomatoes, cut in half. Here is the kicker...we were each charged $2.00 extra for the cucumber and cherry tomatoes while another person at the table got the same thing, but instead had the regular house salad, which wasn't eatable' due to the overload of salad dressing!! We dined a few times at Ciao Bella last year and had a great experience...being charged the extra $2.00...don't think we will return.
