What a cute little coffee shop. We were staying at worldmark birch bay and they recommended this place if we wanted something quick and close. So we walked about 100 yards to this little coffee shop. They also happen to have some cute crafts, local artisan made items and stickers. A few bistro tables and bar counter that faces the bay. The baristas in house were very friendly and chatty. Also attentive and make a mean latte. My hubby had a good old fashion cup o Joe fresh brewed too. I had a coconut chai tea latte and they topped it off w ground cardamon and cinnamon. We shared the almond cream danish (these are from Costco) but still yummy. The breakfast burritos look small but they are stuffed full of yummy goodness: eggs cheese potatoes and either bacon or sausage. We got one of each. And the salsa is homemade so good garlicky and mildly spicy. Overall a cute place for grab n go or to sit a while and take in everything in the place or the views and enjoy coffee a pastry or a yummy breakfast burrito. read more

Adorable dog, friendly café. We had avocado toast with eggs with everything mixture salted on top. SOOO GOOD! I went out and bought some so I could make it at home. Wonderful section of locally made souvenirs and art . Kind, friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommend . read more

Just tried the breakfast burrito and it is DELICIOUS:) Soft warm flour tortilla rolled around hash browns, cheese, eggs, & either bacon or sausage. Homemade salsa-tasty and not very spicy. As a Texan, I know my burritos. This is top tier! They have kolaches too-just like at home. Try the cream cheese variety. Or sausage. Check it out. read more

This is a cute little cafe right across the street from the beach. There's a few gluten free options... Mmmmmonster cookies! The coffee is delicious and the service was friendly. They do get most of their food from another local vendor, but unfortunately this means that things are microwaved which I am not a fan of. Rooted By The Bay. Nice little shop, very clean, lots of cute chachkies for sale, and two friendly, very nice young ladies running the store. Very convenient to WorldMark Birch Bay and WorldMark Blaine Resorts. I ordered a pre-made English Muffin Sandwich ($7.00), Kolache (2 for $5.00), and a fresh Nutty Banana Toast ($5.50). All were delicious. Hot and cold coffees and teas were also available. I would be happy to have breakfast there again anytime. BTW, Rooted By The Bay is currently open 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, so check their current hours. // Update: went back this morning, and had the Coco Berry Toast ($5.50) on white bread. If you go do NOT order the Avocado toast. It's Guacamole from a plastic container. The taste was so bad, took one bite and had to spit it out. As a coffee snob I could tell it wasn't Arabica beens. Coffee was not drinkable. My daughter said the matcha was ok , but it's hard to mess up a drink that you just add powder to. Would not recommend this place. Overpriced for bread topped with Premade Guacamole sprinkled with everything but the baggie topping. I would score this experience and food at a -4 if I could. The workers were nice and sweet but food disgusting. read more

We had a sisters reunion and stayed in Birch Bay for the week, We came to Rooted by the Bay a number of times for coffee and breakfast. Their breakfast sandwich was our favorite and so good. The quiche was great too! We liked the friendly staff and customer service. Their little shop of items made by locals were a bonus and we definitely shopped while we waited for our food. Because they seemed short staffed, you will have to wait awhile. read more

The quiche is great, I believe it comes from a different bakery, though. The Texas kolaches are good, but they aren't actual Texas kolaches. Sausage is thick and has a super thick casing. Tastes good, just not the kolaches I grew up with in Tx. Great friendly service read more

My family and I were in Birch Bay for a couple decompression days after a week of softball across the boarding in BC. We learned there was a coffee shop co-located with our chosen condo location. Since we were only here for a couple days and transition from another location, we elected to not invest in a lot of groceries. So, coffee shop breakfast is in order. The shop is cute. site prepared food, fresh coffee drinks, and various local craft items for purchase. I got the breakfast burrito (with bacon). My daughter has the avocado toast (on sourdough). And, my wife had the breakfast sandwich on gluten free bread. I am a drip coffee guy, so I dove in there. It was a smooth, flavorful cup. The rest of the fam opted for fruit-fruit drinks. The staff at the shop were very friendly and helpful. They were quick, and the food was delish. Prepare to pay a little more given the small town setting and limited breakfast options. But, definitely stop by. read more

I've been here a couple times now. The first time we got some sausage rolls and they were so good! But we also got quiche which was just the Costco quiche with a huge price increase. Second visit I tried the avocado toast and what I got was cheap bread with Kirkland guacamole. You'd think for the price you'd get actual avocado pieces. It was so bland. The coffee we ordered was half sweet but still overly sweet so maybe 1/4 sweet if you don't like sweet coffees. So far nothing to recommend about this place. I might give it a third try in awhile. read more

What a cute coffee shop! I love that they had caramel sauce for lattes, not just syrup. They have tons of flavors for their coffee drinks and the prices are so reasonable! The shop is full of cute gifts made by small companies. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. If you're lucky, you'll get to meet their Goldendoodle pup!
