Honestly, you are going to spend more time in your apartment than in the pool, so give me a bigger apartment then. The comparable apartments in downtown, (such as River Vue) are more expensive and not as nice (cheap appliances), because you are paying to live downtown. Anything significantly less expensive and you are crossing a bridge and fighting traffic every morning. Lot 24 is a non-smoking building. We've had some obnoxious neighbors in the past smoking on their balconies which they are not supposed to do, and the occasional frat-party, but it has been rare. The building is pretty quiet most of the time. It's very pet friendly. There's even a big grassy area across the street for your dog to go, complete with cleanup stations. There's a decent gym that you get free access to, and covered parking at an extra charge (worth it). Overall no complaints!

After living on the North Shore for a year, I knew a move was soon underway. There was no other neighborhood that captured my attention as much as the Strip did. When I learned about the abundant housing options scattered along the far end of Penn Avenue, I started searching for my perfect landing pad. Here is what I learned along the way: choosing to live in Lot 24 goes much farther than choosing an apartment because of its' cost and availability. For me, living in Lot 24 means choosing to live in a place that perfectly accentuates my lifestyle and personality: a young professional who enjoys accessibility to the outdoors and the convince of downtown at the same time, while embracing the charm and history of a unique neighborhood. Lot 24 offers a comfortable lifestyle without pushing you too far out of your comfort zone. While our properly manager is more than helpful, maintenance is on point, the doormen become your friends, and the grounds are spotless, the time you spend living at Lot 24 is what you make of it. The most appealing aspect of Lot 24 to me is the location. Situated on Railroad Street, the small complex is hugged by Penn Avenue on one side and the Allegheny River on the other. Walk down the street and enjoy life by the water. Or, turn a corner and bask in the rush of the Strip as produce is sold, coffee is roasted, giant sandwiches are made, and as history is preserved in one of the Steel City's most iconic neighborhoods. Some of my favorite features at Lot 24 include our small but cozy balcony, modern appliances, an exclusive gym next door and, a gorgeous community room and courtyard. Take a walk down Railroad Street and it will feel as though you are stepping through a cleaned up version of industrial Pittsburgh. A railroad track winds its way though the pavement, a stagnant black train stands still a little ways down, and every Sunday you will hear the whistle of a running engine as it travels through Pittsburgh carrying who-knows-what. Walk a mile in the other direction and find yourself in downtown Pittsburgh where the bar and restaurant scene is striving. Beyond that, the apartment sits on a common bus line and is close to other neighborhoods including hip Lawrenceville, the historic North Side, quirky Polish Hill, and more. The community here is strong and full of young professionals starting careers, folks starting families, and older folks winding down. Dogs running down the hall, babies being pushed in strollers, back-yard style grill outs, and happy hour events are common sightings at Lot 24. There is a lot to embrace and Lot 24 provides the perfect environment to enjoy all that Pittsburgh has to offer. When I wake up in the morning and take that first look out my window, I see more than a living place. I see an investment in a neighborhood that has come a long way. I see an opportunity to support small-business owners who are doing what they love. I see the skyline of a city that has given so much back to its natives and transplants alike and I am reminded that while I could live anywhere, I choose to live in Pittsburgh on purpose. Xoxo, A

They bill their properties as secure and make renting out your room for subleasing or Airbnb illegal. That's fine and great to protect the residents. However, what they don't tell you is that you can rent out your apartment and when someone complains to management, they will either ignore the claim and tell you that you are the problem or retaliate against the person who complains. This is supposed to be a safe place and I have encountered: drunk people walking around my floor in the middle of the night, Airbnb guests on my floor, and a family of five subleasing a one bedroom apartment with a single mattress on the floor. These same "tenants" leave garbage in the hallway despite the potential to attract bugs and the fact that a garbage area is steps from their door. Again, if you report it, you are the problem. Not to mention the homeless drunk man who got into the building, grabbed a fire extinguisher, and did a lot of damage here. I recognize that there are always problems. However, you cannot advertise yourself as a "secure" building if you allow this behavior to continue. A lot of college students, graduate students, and residents live here. For parents, it is not safe here. Please keep this in mind, when you are looking for a "secure luxury building." Also, I feel it is pertinent to mention that the windows in the building freeze during the winter resulting in a cycle of freeze and thaw. The water accumulates on the windowsill and runs down that walls. The water also damages the paint around the window and causes a buildup of black mold. In addition to the fact that the paint is continually peeling and landing all over your apartment, you have to clean out the mold every spring. I have no idea how they keep charging people so much to live here. Please be further advised that the freight elevator has not worked in weeks and there is no update on that. Also, most weekends, of the three elevators, only one works (this happens quite often). Try waiting 10 minutes to get off the 23 floor, when you have an appointment. It is truly frustrating. As much as they try they cannot seem to fix this issue. Also, look at the photo I posted. This has been worsening in my bathroom since I moved in. I reported it as I can literally hear water running though my ceiling and walls at least 2-3 times per week. I recorded the sound on my i-Phone and called maintenance, twice!!! I was told that the people above me must have flooded their bathtub--three times a week day for 4 years!!!! No. These are real things that are happening now at this apartment. DO NOT RENT HERE. This is a "luxury" building of last resort!!!!! Planning my escape because I just can't take the constant gaslighting and cognitive dissonance that comes with living here. We stood there for a good 5-10 minutes before one of them acknowledged us and told us he'd be with us shortly. I don't mind waiting for service, but at least say hello. The ballroom was large, tables with tablecloths were set about the room, and there was a pianist and cellist playing. Service was buffet-style with staff assisting us with what was what. There was a meat station with turkey, ham, and prime rib, salad and soup station with butternut squash soup and French onion soup, a station with sides including Brussels sprouts, glazed carrots, yams, potatoes, green bean casserole, dressing, etc., a coffee station, and a dessert station with bourbon pecan pie, pumpkin pie, blueberry cobbler (star of the show), and more. I lived in a PMC property in Pittsburgh for 4+ years and when I was moving out I scheduled the freight elevator one month in advance. An hour prior to picking up my Uhaul that day I was told that the freight elevator was down. I moved out everything but my couch and mattress (which I measured versus the main lobby doors) because I couldn't get them out without the use of the freight elevator. I emailed PMC employees and let them know that I left my things and would not be able to get back into town with a Uhaul until 3 days after my lease ends. I kept in contact with Carissa and let her know that they could still send people in to paint with my stuff there. I kept asking for confirmation that I would not be charged - she avoided answering that question at all costs. I finally got back into town and moved out 3 days after my lease ended. I was charged for 4 extra days of rent for the month. Carissa was upset that I didn't call her (as if I had her number to call her on a Sunday) which is why I was charged for 4 days. Since being charged, we spoke with Carissa who said a refund check would be mailed out for those 4 days - it never was. Spoke with someone in the Philadelphia offices who reiterated that a refund check would be mailed out for those 4 days - it never was.
