They've been out to our home twice now, and we called them again because our first experience was fantastic (see my first Yelp review!). Today was no different--communication was seamless, pricing was clear and upfront, and scheduling was hassle-free. They even rescued us on short notice for a semi-emergency. If we ever need plumbing help again, Fred and Sons will be our first call. Highly recommend!

I messaged Freddy yesterday about my issue and he said he would be out here first thing this morning. Like clock work he is always on time and I can say always since this is the 3rd time I have used him since I found him in 2020 during COVID. I had him look at a couple other things for me while he was here and without hesitation he did. I also had him flush my water heater that he installed for me 2 years ago. He is HONEST & RELIABLE & VERY THOROUGH and explains everything so you have a complete understanding of what he is doing and what you are paying for. When it comes to the plumbing in my home which is old I won't even look for anyone else. He is my go to. Now back in March my 77 year old aunt who does not have YELP was selling her home and had a plumbing issue. I told her like I tell anyone else call Fred & Sons and she did. He got right out to her seen her issue and also her place is old and outdated he fixed her plumbing. She thanked me and said how good and professional he was. I have attached a picture of my ugly faucet before he fixed it. And one after of the beautiful work he did. Excuse the hose I had already pushed the fridge back before I snapped a picture. But good quality clean work! Don't shop around Fred & Sons is your Plumber!

Tech went as scheduled and told me he did a quick check at the unit and then to the electrical panel. And said now if he needs to go into diagnosis, it will cost $175 , and either he can fix it OR that $175 will be used to swap a new unit at $4xx. Since I'm remote, I can only agree to it to move forward. 10mins later, got a call from the tech saying, "there are good and bad news! Good news, the unit was indeed completely fine and it's working alright. The unit was slightly "UNPLUGGED" from the outlet and it works perfectly after I plugged it back in. Bad news, the $175 is due. " I appreciate that the "diagnosis" save me hundreds instead of replacing a fully working unit, but I would have thought the first free initial check should have looked at the connection in the first place. Definitely feel a bit rip off BUT they did give me a small discount in the end. I'm not expecting free work BUT $150 to get someone out to plug it back in? Is that the norm?

I looked up reviews first and was pretty worried. When the gentleman showed up at my door he was on time within the time frame, very professional and was extremely kind to my dog which I was going to lock up to give him room to work but he had his own dogs so he was very friendly with my pup. He then checked the sink and immediately knew he had to snake it so he got his tools from his truck and ran the hot water + snake at the same time and ran the entire length all the way to the street just to make sure it all got cleared and voila! It was cleared and when he pulled out it he showed me there was dried up grease clogging up the pipe at the very end which a little bit came back out when he pulled the snake out. Overall my experience was extremely professional and extremely kind. I cannot possibly expect a better service from any company. I am very happy with the service I received!! I give Gennaro's Plumbing 10/10!!

    SCAM ALERT!!!! My…read morehome warranty company sent them out for an emergency after-hours repair. The guy from Gennaro's called me and was very nice, I asked how I should turn off the water and he assured me that everything would be fine, and they would take care of everything and the plumber was already on the way. Before the plumber came some guy with a water mitigation company showed up and he immediately began telling me that I had to file a claim with my home owners insurance, that my entire kitchen was going to have to be redone and the floors throughout my entire house will likely have to be replaced (you would think I had water gushing out of my pipes instead of a leak). I asked the guy how much would it cost for him to create an access point for the plumber to fix the issue and he said $250-$350. He is going through my house taping off portions of my wall, cabinets, and floor continuing to tell me that I needed to open a claim because he has to take my cabinets down and all of this other stuff. There is some back and forth and I am very hesitant, so he called the guy from Gennaro's to have him talk to me and that guy begins trying to convince me to let the guy start and file a claim. The entire time I have an active leak and there is no plumber. So I told him that I would start the claim, but not for all of the other work and he told me they can't do partial work once they begin working under a claim (all or nothing), so I said that I will just pay out of pocket for him to open an access point and that price jumped to $2,800. He then told me that he still requires a claim number before he can do anything. The entire time, there is still an active leak and this guy is trying to strong arm me before he will create an access point for the plumber to fix the issue and to further pressure me he tells me that the plumber is 15 minutes away so I need to decide what to do. I said fine, I'll open a claim but I am not going to agree to you doing all of this extra work, I will pay for the access point separately and will speak to my insurance company first thing in the morning about the rest. He ask if I want him to move forward with the access point, I said yes and confirmed that I will pay for that out of pocket. He went outside, got in his van and left without saying anything. When I realized he was gone and the plumber never came, I called Gennaro's a few times and they would send me straight to VM. It was a good thing that I did open a claim because my insurance company sent someone out and explained to me how the scam works.... The plumber works with a water restoration/mitigation company. They get you to open a claim, and sign the agreements before they create an access point so the plumber can do repairs, then they immediately start "restoring" your home and then will send an inflated bill to the insurance company when they are done and whatever they can't get the insurance company to pay, the homeowner is now on the hook for which is typically thousands of dollars. And if the homeowner can't pay they put a lien on your home. They literally sit there and let the water continue to damage your home until you enter into an agreement with their restoration/mitigation partner. So don't become a victim like I almost did. If they mention your homeowner's insurance, don't sign anything and tell them to have a nice day. Call your insurance company yourself and let THEM send their water mitigation and plumber to your home. You can then discuss with your insurance company if you need to move forward with a claim.
